About the Role
SharkNinja is seeking a Director level Product Innovation Expert to lead one of Ninja’s Advanced Development categories. This is a high impact leadership role focused on defining the next generation of disruptive Ninja products through breakthrough innovation, consumer insight, and hands on product development.
As part of the Ninja Advanced Development team, you will lead a group of highly creative engineers responsible for generating and developing new product concepts that shape the future of the brand. This role requires a unique blend of strategic thinking, technical depth, strong people leadership, and the ability to champion bold ideas from concept through to executive buy in.
You will work closely with Marketing, Design, Engineering, and global partners across the UK, US, and China to create products that solve real consumer problems and unlock new opportunities for growth.
What You Will Do
Apply Design Thinking principles to identify real consumer needs and translate them into Advanced Development projects.
Partner closely with Marketing teams to help define and influence the long term Ninja product roadmap.
Lead and inspire a team of creative, hands on engineers focused on breakthrough innovation and concept development.
Allocate resources across multiple Advanced Development projects and establish clear priorities to maintain momentum.
Manage a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from blue sky exploration through to programs approaching commercialization.
Drive regular project reviews and support project leaders to ensure strong execution and technical progress.
Think critically about emerging product concepts and challenge ideas to improve consumer value, feasibility, and differentiation.
Make difficult strategic decisions around project direction, including when to stop, pivot, or accelerate development efforts.
Interpret test data, prototype learnings, and consumer feedback to guide development decisions and action plans.
Champion promising product concepts to senior leadership and executive teams, effectively communicating vision, value, and opportunity.
Manage collaboration with external technology and manufacturing partners.
Support the transition of successful concepts from Advanced Development into NPD and NPI teams while protecting design intent.
Collaborate closely with global teams across the UK, US, and China to ensure smooth concept transfer and early manufacturing alignment.
Develop and mentor team members, supporting both individual growth and long term organisational capability building.
What You Will Bring
Extensive experience leading user centred innovation and product development projects.
Strong intuition for consumer needs, market opportunities, and what drives success in the marketplace.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams developing breakthrough or disruptive consumer products.
Comfortable taking calculated risks and pursuing ambitious ideas with a fail fast, learn fast mindset.
Strong leadership and people management capability, including managing teams across multiple locations.
Excellent communication, storytelling, and presentation skills with the ability to influence executive leadership teams.
Ability to sketch and visually communicate ideas quickly and effectively.
High proficiency in SolidWorks and ProE or Creo CAD systems.
Strong project and resource management skills with the ability to prioritise effectively across multiple concurrent programs.
Experience working with China manufacturing partners on high volume consumer products.
Strong understanding of cross functional product development disciplines including Industrial Design, User Experience, Electronics, Quality, and Manufacturing.
A collaborative and open minded approach, with the confidence to challenge ideas while remaining receptive to feedback and alternative perspectives.

We are looking for Staff UX Designers capable of producing elegant design solutions, while also cultivating an environment for sustainable design growth at the firm. You will be placed on one of various teams within our Technology groups, depending on your particular background and focus.
Collaboration amongst teams and users across a wide variety of disciplines is integral to Jane Street, so we're very invested in building an intentional design culture that helps our colleagues do their best work. The interest in partnering with people who bring user experience process and thinking to projects has grown in parallel with the scale of the firm. You will be joining at an inflection point: we are actively growing our design talent to meet the demand.
With direct access to a diverse user community, you will lead initiatives to help your team understand what people need to do their jobs, and apply user research to help scope what products need to be built to address those needs. You will also help teams better understand how to approach user-centred research and how they can deploy these methods early and often during the product life cycle.
Demonstrating design craft is critical to the daily work of this role. As you scope work to be done in partnership with your team, you will sketch, storyboard and prototype possible solutions for better experiences. We will expect you to distil the complex routines of our user communities into approachable design solutions for people of all technical levels, whether they are for an internal team or targeted toward an external audience. Your scope of work will encompass initial conversations with people to learn more about their systems and challenges.
You should be willing to take the time needed to learn about our work and existing processes, while being flexible as we build a design presence. You will offer your insights on UX decisions across your team, advocate for usability testing across other parts of the firm, standardise user research methodologies and further define how our teams can best partner with a design collaborator.
