Let's start with the role
Back in 2021 we aimed to reform our team and increase its size twofold. After successfully achieving this goal, and looking ahead to 2026, our focus remains on crafting our skills and making Kaizen a "Mobile First" company.
Our mobile team consists of 17+ iOS Engineers and 18 Android Engineers and they are complemented by Software Engineers in Test, for the quality perspective.
Our Engineers work either in our Mobile Infrastructure team or they actively contribute to our cross-functional feature squads.
Our mobile applications have a widespread user base, reaching millions of people across many countries and continents. We use Swift/Kotlin to create a quality codebase and we heavily invest in covering our codebase with tests on all levels. Our goal is to enhance our technical practices and move to the next technical level.
Tech Stack: Swift, Alamofire, SwiftUI components, Modular architecture, GitLab for source code management, Bitrise for CI/CD, XCTest for Unit Testing, XCUITest for UI Testing, MVC to MVP, SwiftLint, Structured Concurrency, Firebase, Figma for designs, Transifex for localization
Supportive Stack/Processes: Scrum/Kanban, Jira / Confluence, Firebase / Google Analytics / Google Tag Manager, Pair programming, Unit testing, GitFlow, Code Reviews
Contribute to shaping the new era of the company, mobile-wise
Implement our technology roadmap to the highest of quality standards
Influence the technological vision of the iOS chapter
Engage in challenging tasks and constantly hone your technical skills
Collaborate with product managers and designers to comprehend project requirements and transform them into robust, efficient and scalable iOS solutions.
Develop and maintain high-quality codebase, ensuring the reliability and performance of our iOS applications.
Stay updated on the latest iOS trends, technologies, and best practices incorporating them into our development processes.
Collaborate with Software Engineers in Test (SET) to conduct thorough testing, identify and address bugs and optimize application performance.
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain code quality standards
What you’ll bring
- Proficient in Swift programming language.
- Solid understanding of iOS frameworks, UI/UX principles and design patterns.
- Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
- Strong focus on building user experiences of exceptional quality
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Nice to have:
- Experience with code testing methodologies, such as unit testing and integration testing.
- Experience with SwiftUI and modern Swift APIs (Combine, Async/Await, Actors, e.t.c.)
- Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes

Being part of the Infrastructure team, you will:
- Help shape the new era of the company mobile wise

Being part of the feature squads, you will:
- Contribute to and lead each step of the product development process, from ideation to implementation to release while architecting and building solutions that can scale to support millions of users.
- See the big picture and identify inefficiencies and opportunities for meaningful improvements.
- Raise the bar to make Kaizen iOS engineering truly the best-in-class by improving best practices, producing exemplary code, documentation, automated tests, and thorough and precise monitoring.
- Conduct thorough testing, identify and address performance bottlenecks, and optimize application performance.
- Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
What you’ll bring
- Expertise in Swift programming language.
- Strong understanding of software development principles, capabilities, and limitations of the iOS platform.
- Extensive experience with code testing methodologies, such as unit testing and integration testing.

Let’s start with the role
You will join an autonomous Agile team and work closely with the Product Owner, Agile Delivery Lead and Software Engineers to create a competitive advantage for Kaizen and offer a unique online experience to our customers.
As a Software Engineer in Test, you will utilize your experience and technical expertise to make your mark in our software development’s life cycle. Relish the chance to create an impact in this key role where you will liaise with talented engineers and business experts. Your understanding of the testing life-cycle will see you liaise seamlessly with a broad cross-section of colleagues, product owners and stakeholders, and provide a vote of confidence regarding the quality of the product.
- Review user stories and acceptance criteria in order to develop effective test plans and both manual and automated tests cases in collaboration with the development team
- Participate actively in scrum ceremonies in order to distribute test cases according to the test pyramid
- Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
- Be responsible for the STLC of new features on testing suites, taking technical ownership to ensure timely and quality delivery
- Research test tools, methodologies, and trends and upgrading existing practices and processes.
What you’ll bring
We are looking for a Software Engineer in Test who is a team player with a can-do attitude and excellent communication skills.
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or an IT related discipline
- 2+ years of experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test
- Hands on experience in OOP languages (C# preferable)
- Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
- Hands-on experience with web browser automation tools (e.g. Selenium / Playwright)
- Good understanding of all levels of the testing pyramid
- Experience in defect tracking and test management tools such as JIRA, X-Ray etc
- Familiarity with relational database engines (SQL)
- Experience working with Agile/Scrum software development methodology
- Experience working closely with product teams to understand requirements and verify/validate they are met
- Passion for continuous learning and self-development
- Fluent communication skills in English (both written & verbal)
- Understanding of Behavior Driven Development
