Job Description & Responsibilities

As a Windows Platform Support (L1), you will provide first-level response within Interactive Brokers (IB) for information technology-related issues concerning the Microsoft Windows platform. You will assist business and development end-users via phone, email, and a centralized ticketing system to resolve or escalate IT issues.

This position requires strong technical knowledge and polished communication skills. Key competencies include intermediate knowledge of Windows and networking technologies, a high level of patience when supporting less technically savvy users, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced business environment with a strong sense of urgency. Dependability and a willingness to go above and beyond in resolving technical issues are essential.

Essential Job Functions:

• Provide technical assistance and support for reported issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware in accordance with department SLAs.
• Assist users via phone, email, in-person, or remote support tools.
• Resolve issues involving desktops, laptops, virtual machines, smartphones, scanners, printers, and other peripherals.
• Install operating systems, applications, hardware drivers, and configure system settings per departmental standards.
• Troubleshoot problems using diagnostic tools to identify root causes and implement permanent solutions.
• Document issue resolutions in the department knowledge base and contribute to self-help articles for employee access.
• Maintain timely updates for assigned incidents, including user contact attempts and resolution details, and escalate when necessary.
• Participate in department or firmwide projects as directed by IT management.
• Support departmental productivity and development goals by attending training programs and team meetings.
• Interface professionally with employees at all levels, including executives, to promote a positive image of the department.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Participate in assigned schedules to ensure coverage.

Qualification & Skills

Knowledge, Education, and Skills:

• Minimum of 2+ years of technical support experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or completion of an IT apprenticeship with relevant experience.
• Certifications such as A+, Network+, Microsoft, or VMware are a plus.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and multitasking abilities.
• Team-oriented with a commitment to knowledge sharing.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.

Technical Experience:

About the Role:

THE WORK

We are seeking a new Staff Software Engineer to join the Platform Engineering team of our Custody department. You'll play a key role in shaping our engineering practices, ensuring the reliability and performance of our platform across a multi-cloud environment, and empowering our engineering team to deliver innovative features with speed and efficiency. To push further our vision of Enterprise AI, we are looking for a senior leader to grow and lead our team of Enterprise Architects. 

This high-impact leadership role demands a unique blend of deep technical expertise, people management experience, and executive presence. You will act as an executive sponsor, confidently presenting to customer C-level executives and helping your team translate strategic goals into actionable technical plans.

Your primary goal is to lead and empower a team that supports our growing sales organization in achieving revenue goals. You will ensure your team successfully unlocks technical blockers by fostering close partnerships with leadership across Sales, Value Engineering, Product Management, Data Ops, and Information Security teams.

The work you’ll do:

• Team Leadership: Hire, mentor, and manage a team of Enterprise Architects who define the overall architecture, data, and cloud strategy for our largest client accounts.
• Executive Engagement: Act as an executive sponsor in pre-Sales and post-Sales phases, presenting strategic visions to C-level executives and engaging with customer Architecture and security teams.
• Drive Strategic Innovation: Guide your team to design architectures that drive enterprise modernization, leverage capability mapping, and explore innovative solutions using emergent technologies like Agentic AI.
• Cross-Functional Alignment: Serve as the leadership bridge between our product & engineering teams within Celonis and client teams to ensure the delivery of premier technical services.
• Ecosystem & Readiness: Oversee the assessment of the IT landscape maturity of our customer installed base and ensure your team effectively coaches Celonis account teams and ecosystem partners on architecture, integration, performance, and scalability.
• Thought Leadership: Direct the development of re-usable assets for projects, as well as customer-facing position papers and thought leadership presentations on architecture and innovation with Celonis.

The qualifications you need:

• Experience: 20+ years of relevant experience, including a proven track record of managing Enterprise Architects or technical teams at a top consulting firm or software vendor.
• Strategic Vision: Proven ability to think strategically, guiding your team to connect technical solutions to business value and customer objectives.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven track record of navigating complex negotiations and presenting to C-level executives.
• Enterprise Architecture Expertise: Demonstrated experience and deep understanding of Capability Mapping, Enterprise Modernization, and Agentic AI.
• Technical Foundation: Strong background in Data Architecture, system integrations, data operations, automation capabilities, and data-related languages (SQL, Python, etc.). You must be able to comfortably switch from discussing high-level architecture strategy to understanding hands-on demo environments.
• Ecosystem Knowledge: Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, SaaS solutions (Salesforce, SAP, Dynamics CRM, ServiceNow), cybersecurity posture fundamentals, API ecosystems, and legacy on-premise enterprise architectures.
• Education: MSc degree in Computer Science or an equivalent in an Information Technology-related field.
• Languages: Fluency in English is required; an additional language such as Spanish, French, German, or Italian is a strong advantage.

Preferred:

• Celonis Certifications and extensive leadership experience managing projects with OCPM and Case Centric Data Pipelines.

As a Staff Solutions Architect at Upbound, you own the technical success of our customers. You are the primary driver of customer outcomes, from initial implementation through production adoption, ensuring customers achieve real business value with Crossplane and the Upbound platform. This is a deeply technical, hands-on role embedded in the post-sales motion, working closely with customers to deliver working solutions, not just guidance.

In this role, you will Own: 

Customer Technical Outcomes

• Drive end-to-end technical success for a portfolio of enterprise customers, from post-sales handoff through production adoption.
• Own the implementation of known Upbound use cases — control plane architectures, Upbound/Crossplane configurations, GitOps integration, platform engineering patterns — and ensure customers reach their target state.
• Define and track technical milestones that map to customer business objectives and contract value.
• Act as the primary technical escalation point when customers face blockers, coordinating engineering and product resources to resolve them.

Implementation & Architecture

• Lead technical discovery to deeply understand customer environments, platform requirements, and target architecture.
• Design and deliver Crossplane-based control plane architectures tailored to customer infrastructure and organizational context.
• Build and maintain reference platforms and implementation accelerators that codify Upbound best practices and reduce time-to-value for common use cases.
• Contribute Statements of Work that accurately scope implementation engagements.
• Write code, fix bugs, and build scoped features within Upbound products, provider ecosystem, and Crossplane core where needed to unblock customers.

Technical Voice of the Customer

• Represent customer technical needs internally to influence product roadmap and prioritization.
• Partner with pre-sales SEs to ensure smooth, informed handoffs with full context on customer environment and expectations.
• Identify expansion opportunities as customer technical maturity grows and new Upbound capabilities become relevant.

You are a good fit if you have: 

• Hands-on Kubernetes expertise — operators, controllers, or add-ons; production deployment and management experience.
• Platform engineering or SRE background, with direct experience building or operating an Internal Developer Platform (IDP).
• Deep familiarity with cloud-native tooling: CNCF ecosystem, IaC (Terraform/Pulumi), GitOps (Flux/ArgoCD), CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience across at least two major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) at production scale.
• Strong programming skills; Go is strongly preferred.
