Helsing is a defence AI company. Our mission is to protect our democracies. We aim to achieve technological leadership, so that open societies can continue to make sovereign decisions and control their ethical standards.
As democracies, we believe we have a special responsibility to be thoughtful about the development and deployment of powerful technologies like AI. We take this responsibility seriously.
We are an ambitious and committed team of engineers, AI specialists and customer-facing programme managers. We are looking for mission-driven people to join our European teams – and apply their skills to solve the most complex and impactful problems. We embrace an open and transparent culture that welcomes healthy debates on the use of technology in defence, its benefits, and its ethical implications.
Collaborating closely with our dynamic team of product designers and engineers, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the foundation of frontend at Helsing. Embracing a hands-on approach, you'll not only lead by example, but also spearhead the development and expansion of a tight-knit team that works across a wide-range of internal teams and products. Your primary emphasis will be on enhancing usability, creating re-usable foundations for multiple front-ends and optimising the end-user experience across the entire company.
Review code contributions, proposals, and RFCs from colleagues. At Helsing we strongly believe that unblocking others takes precedence over spending more time on your own work.
Own the user interface end-to-end, from early wireframes and prototypes through to performant, production-ready code. You'll work closely with product and UX colleagues to shape how users interact with our tools. We have relatively few frontend engineers at Helsing; this means that we operate at a high level of autonomy and there are plenty of opportunities for impactful work.
Propose and implement new features, capabilities, tooling, visualizations, or even full products across our stack. We encourage our engineers to look beyond their immediate team for missed opportunities, and to speak up when they identify one.
Establish and evolve our React component library, ensuring consistency, reusability, and alignment with our visual design standards across multiple front-ends.
Collaborate with others beyond your team and share knowledge with the wider frontend community at Helsing. Contribute to establishing our frontend engineering standards. Build or adopt tools that help enforce these standards, or make our frontend engineers more efficient in a different way.
Become a mentor, find a mentee, and help support and develop our interviewing pipeline. The people make or break the company, and we want as many engineers as possible to be part of fostering and growing the organisation.
Share your experience and technical know-how with other Helsingers. We host tech talks, get together for smaller "let's learn together" groups, run topical office hours or reading groups (e.g., on React or TypeScript), etc. to help each other get better with time.
Connect with, understand, and make changes to backend systems as needed. Our backends are primarily written in Rust, and you'll need to be comfortable navigating unfamiliar codebases to unblock yourself and improve integrations. Rust experience is not a prerequisite to this role, though - you can learn that over time as needed.
Present your work at our weekly demo sessions. We want engineers to come together around what they are working on and to feel like they are not endlessly squirrelling away at something that doesn't matter. To that end, we host (and actively work towards) demo sessions that allow early feedback, celebration of progress, and a better shared understanding of everything that goes on at Helsing.
Can write legible, maintainable, and performant frontend code - ideally using TypeScript and React.
Are experienced with APIs and server-client communication like REST and GraphQL.
Have experience with running a live production software.
Are passionate about staying on top of current development best practices, libraries and frameworks.
Are comfortable working with unfamiliar backends, ideally with some exposure to languages like Rust.
Communicate well in English, both verbally and in writing.
Enjoy collaborating with others, including reviewing code and pair programming.
Are comfortable working asynchronously (writing PRs and RFCs, having discussions by email).
Strive to improve yourself, your peers, and the culture you work in over time.
Feel like ethical considerations are an inherent part of engineering.
Note: We operate at an intersection where women, as well as other minority groups, are systematically under-represented. We encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet all the listed qualifications; ability and impact cannot be summarised in a few bullet points.
Helsing’s work is important. You’ll be directly contributing to the protection of democratic countries while balancing both ethical and geopolitical concerns
The work is unique. We operate in a domain that has highly unusual technical requirements and constraints, and where robustness, safety, and ethical considerations are vital. You will face unique Engineering and AI challenges that make a meaningful impact in the world
Our work frequently takes us right up to the state of the art in technical innovation, be it reinforcement learning, distributed systems, generative AI, or deployment infrastructure. The defence industry is entering the most exciting phase of the technological development curve. Advances in our field of world are not incremental: Helsing is part of, and often leading, historic leaps forward
In our domain, success is a matter of order-of-magnitude improvements and novel capabilities. This means we take bets, aim high, and focus on big opportunities. Despite being a relatively young company, Helsing has already been selected for multiple significant government contracts
We actively encourage healthy, proactive, and diverse debate internally about what we do and how we choose to do it. Teams and individual engineers are trusted (and encouraged) to practise responsible autonomy and critical thinking, and to focus on outcomes, not conformity. At Helsing you will have a say in how we (and you!) work, the opportunity to engage on what does and doesn’t work, and to take ownership of aspects of our culture that you care deeply about
Significant recent experience with React.
Familiarity with backend interface tools like REST, GraphQL, gRPC/Protocol Buffers.
Established understanding of modern JS bundlers, such as Vite, and experience maintaining frontend infrastructure.
Experience with styling utility-class libraries such as TailwindCSS and building reusable React component libraries.
Data visualization expertise (e.g., D3.js, custom charting, or complex dashboard design).
Background in designing software for aerospace, defense, or AI end users.
A focus on outcomes, not time-tracking
Competitive compensation and VSOP options
Relocation support
Social and education allowances
Regular company events and all-hands to bring together employees as one team across Europe
A hands-on onboarding program (affectionately labelled “Infraduction”), in which you will be building tooling and applications to be used across the company. This is your opportunity to learn our tech stack, explore the company, and learn how we get things done - all whilst working with other engineering teams from day one
Helsing is an equal opportunities employer. We are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, age, marital status, disability or gender identity. Please do not submit personal data revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, data concerning your health, or data concerning your sexual orientation.

We are looking for mission-driven people to join our European teams – and apply their skills to solve the most complex and impactful problems. We embrace an open and transparent culture that welcomes healthy debates on the use of technology in defence, its benefits, and its ethical implications.
At Helsing we develop and deliver AI-based capabilities and the enabling infrastructure that allow semi-autonomous platforms to localise, navigate, and perceive the world in real time. We build software that is subject to significant and unorthodox technical constraints, must operate in a wide variety of constantly-changing environments, and has to support an ever-growing list of challenging use-cases. What we build ultimately ends up in the hands of real people in high-risk, high-stress situations, so must be both reliable and frictionless. Taken together, this brings a whole host of interesting engineering challenges across a wide variety of fields that you’ll help us solve. To give some examples:
Distributed systems (e.g., intermittent connectivity and byzantine actors)
Embedded computing (e.g., resource-constrained compute and reverse-engineering)
Robotics (e.g., control systems and tasking)
Networking (e.g., long-range low-bandwidth radios and cross-medium routing)
Deployment infrastructure (e.g., air-gapped devices and heterogenous fleets)
Security (e.g., data sharing in low-trust, no-TLS networks and actually-secret data handling)
Machine learning (e.g., systems for model development, storage, and dissemination)
In several of these areas, we are working near the state-of-the-art; we actively read (and sometimes implement) research papers, and often need to push even further to make theory work in practice. In others, we are applying well-known techniques to real-world situations (with real-world limitations) that have never been used in before, which requires skill, diligence, and honing a deep understanding of the underlying technologies.
Review code contributions, proposals, and RFCs from colleagues. At Helsing we strongly believe that unblocking others takes precedence over spending more time on your own work.

Maintain our existing software stack, including working with internal and external customers to identify issues, improving operational reliability and performance, and fending off technical debt. The stack is a mix of Rust and Python, with Python mainly living in the ML-heavy sections.
Further develop our tests and benchmarks, both at the micro and macro level. We operate in a domain where robustness is of the utmost importance, and an extensive and ever-improving test suite is key to achieving that. And without thorough benchmarks, we would be flying blind.
Present your work at our weekly demo sessions.
Software only matters when it is actively being used and making a difference. As a Deployed AI Engineer, you will be at the heart of this - taking state-of-the-art software and integrating it into complex systems. You will be defining and executing against the end-to-end outcome and all steps on the way to delivering novel capabilities in some of the most challenging environments around.
For example: you collaborate directly with customer avionics engineers to understand the data structures and APIs used in aircraft mission control systems. Instead of being scared, you embrace the complexity of unfamiliar databases, APIs, or network protocols; you dig into the specification and use your creativity and ingenuity to implement adapters for integrating them with Helsing’s cloud infrastructure. By working closely with our partners and customers (both metaphorically and quite literally), you continuously evolve, improve, and operate Helsing software. You own the outcome end-to-end.
In close collaboration with our product teams, you will discover and formalise customer requirements, identify bugs, and ship the latest features directly to our users. Technology demonstrations are our chance to shine - you will coordinate between customers, partners, and Helsing engineers to showcase Helsing’s software and AI capabilities in simulations or with real systems.
Have a degree in computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering, or other relevant fields.
Have a broad understanding and creative use of computer systems; this is the Swiss army knife in Helsing’s toolbox of world-class talent.
Prefer asking questions over stipulating answers.
Love figuring things out, digging deeper and deeper into unfamiliar systems until it finally clicks, and you understand how they work.
Are not afraid of legacy systems and would rather make them work than give up and try to rewrite it all.
Are comfortable with scripting languages such as Bash or Python and have experience with software engineering in C++, Java, Rust, or similar.
Can navigate and configure Linux systems and have an understanding of network stacks and database systems.
If applying for Germany- it is a requirement that you are able to speak business level or fluent German
Note: We operate at an intersection where women, as well as other minority groups, are systematically under-represented. We encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet all the listed qualifications; ability and impact cannot be summarised in a few bullet points.
Experience with Rust and Python.
Experience with container-based, cloud-native and edge application architectures.
Experience with maintaining and operating production systems using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or similar.
Experience with SQL, NoSQL, and streaming database systems.
Experience with production ML systems.
Helsing’s work is important. You’ll be directly contributing to the protection of democratic countries while balancing both ethical and geopolitical concerns.
The work is unique. We operate in a domain that has highly unusual technical requirements and constraints, and where robustness, safety, and ethical considerations are vital. You will face unique Engineering and AI challenges that make a meaningful impact in the world.
Our work frequently takes us right up to the state of the art in technical innovation, be it reinforcement learning, distributed systems, generative AI, or deployment infrastructure. The defence industry is entering the most exciting phase of the technological development curve. Advances in our field of world are not incremental: Helsing is part of, and often leading, historic leaps forward.
In our domain, success is a matter of order-of-magnitude improvements and novel capabilities. This means we take bets, aim high, and focus on big opportunities. Despite being a relatively young company, Helsing has already been selected for multiple significant government contracts.
We actively encourage healthy, proactive, and diverse debate internally about what we do and how we choose to do it. Teams and individual engineers are trusted (and encouraged) to practise responsible autonomy and critical thinking, and to focus on outcomes, not conformity. At Helsing you will have a say in how we (and you!) work, the opportunity to engage on what does and doesn’t work, and to take ownership of aspects of our culture that you care deeply about.

Mentimeter is an engagement tool with a clear goal in mind. To turn presentations into conversations. Through real-time interactivity and clear visualizations, we get people to participate, engage and become more productive. Transforming all those passive meetings, airless classrooms and drawn out trainings into valuable and memorable moments.
We truly believe that you achieve the best results by doing things together. And that successful leaders need to adopt a curious and collaborative mindset in order to get there. So with you at Mentimeter, you’ll be a big part of the ambition to help over 1 billion people listen, learn and work better together.
Mentimeter is looking for a Product Engineer to join our Payments team and help shape how customers pay for and manage their subscriptions.
The Payments team owns the checkout experience, billing systems, subscription lifecycle, and integrations with payment providers like Stripe. We work on reducing friction in critical customer journeys - from initial signup through renewal and cancellation. We're also thinking bigger: exploring more flexible billing models, improving how we handle invoicing and financial reporting, and building the infrastructure to support Mentimeter's growth.
The technical landscape is distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and complex integrations. We partner closely with Product, Finance, Sales, and Support to balance customer experience with business requirements. This is a team that works together -pairing, mobbing, and bringing diverse perspectives to problems that matter.
You'll have a genuine chance to influence Mentimeter's payments strategy and help define how hundreds of thousands of customers experience billing at our platform.
The Payments team is part of our Capabilities area, which builds critical platform experiences. We're a close-knit group: a product manager, an engineering manager, and backend-focused engineers who care about getting the details right. We work across the entire stack, but most of our work is backend, distributed systems, integrations, and data pipelines.
We're collaborative by nature. We discuss big decisions openly, challenge ideas respectfully, and support each other. We're not a ticket-pushing team. We own outcomes, think about trade-offs, and take initiative to improve what we've built. We're also learning together - experimenting with AI adoption, refining how we work, and building skills we didn't have yesterday.
You're comfortable working across the backend stack and think in terms of systems and trade-offs. You have real experience shipping backend services to production - you understand latency, observability, and knowing what to test.
You're curious by nature. You ask good questions, learn quickly, and aren't intimidated by domains you haven't worked in before. You have opinions, you share them respectfully, and you're willing to be challenged in return.
You think about outcomes, not tasks. You can take a fuzzy problem, break it down, and drive it to completion. You work well with others - you enjoy pairing, you communicate clearly, and you can represent the team in cross-functional conversations.
This is a full-stack product engineering role with a heavy emphasis on the backend. The primary responsibilities will involve backend development in Ruby.
The successful candidate will also contribute to and own frontend features. This is a perfect fit for an engineer who is passionate about scalable systems and comfortable working across the entire tech stack, while maintaining a main focus on backend architecture.
How we work with AI
We're actively building AI into how we build software - and as part of the product itself. Every engineer has access to tools like Cursor, Claude, and Codex, and we encourage you to use them to pair on tricky problems, explore unfamiliar codebases and to prototype and experiment. We're not prescriptive about how we use them, but we are curious about what works and what comes next in how products get built. Our teams regularly share workflows, and lessons learned, and we treat AI adoption and fluency as a skill we're all developing together - both in how we build and in what we build for our customers.
What Mentimeter can offer

Your place will be in a growing company with lots of career opportunities, working on a beloved product used by more than 300 million people. Mentimeter is looking for a Product Engineer to join our Identity team and help shape how users and organizations authenticate, access, and manage their presence across our products.
The Identity team owns the enterprise-grade identity surface of Mentimeter: SSO and SAML authentication, SCIM-based user provisioning, domain control, and email verification among others. Our mission is to create intuitive, scalable solutions for identity management of users and participants - lowering the threshold for enterprises to start adopting our enterprise offering with minimal support. That means everything from a first-time user signing in seamlessly, to enabling organisations of tens of thousands to onboard into their workspace smoothly through automated provisioning and access management.
Beyond our own systems, we act as an enabling function for other teams - advising on standardized authentication practices across Mentimeter’s products, and ensuring that both internal and external integrations follow consistent, secure patterns.
The technical landscape spans distributed systems, security-sensitive flows, and deep integrations with identity providers. We partner closely with Product, Security, Sales, and Support to balance user experience with enterprise requirements.
This is a team that works together - bringing diverse perspectives to problems that matter. You’ll have a genuine chance to influence Mentimeter’s identity strategy and help define how millions of users and their organizations experience authentication through our products.

As an Analytics Engineer in the Analytics Foundation team, you help the whole company use data with confidence. You sit in a small team with real ownership: we shape how analytics engineering is done here, not only what gets built. You will make architectural decisions for data modelling and set the bar for quality, maintainability, and how we work. This is not a role where you only implement models from a backlog of “orders”; you partner with the business and with technical teams, surface trade-offs when needed, and help prioritise work that compounds.
We spend most of our time on larger initiatives that improve the platform and how people use data, rather than reacting to a constant stream of ad-hoc questions. The team has a high degree of autonomy over its agenda, little firefighting, and we have invested for years in automating repetitive work so we can focus on impact. You will work hands-on with modern data tooling and with AI-assisted workflows, including coding agents and agent-style automation where they genuinely speed up design, review, and deliver, while staying responsible for correctness, governance, and clarity for stakeholders.
You will develop and maintain core models, quality practices, and governance; support the warehouse and pipelines; and help teams get the most from BI and GTM tooling. Tools in our stack include Snowflake, dbt core, Hex, Prefect, Fivetran, and Hightouch (among others).

Mentimeter is looking for a Product / AI Engineer to join our Recommendation Engine team and play a key role in shaping how AI creates value across our product.
We have multiple AI-powered features live in production, including a multi-agent system serving real users at scale. The work spans LLM orchestration, structured output generation, chained analysis pipelines, prompt engineering, and evaluation. Going forward, the technical challenges deepen: richer context management across sessions, more sophisticated agent architectures, personalization and relevance at scale, and the extension of AI capabilities across the broader Mentimeter product.
Over 300 million people have used Mentimeter to run interactive sessions - gathering input, running polls, and collecting feedback. We're building the AI-powered system that helps users get more value from those interactions: understanding what they learned, deciding what to do next, and acting on it.
You'll have a genuine chance to influence Mentimeter's medium- and long-term AI strategy.
The Recommendation Engine team builds AI-powered recommendations that help Mentimeter users turn what they learn into what they do next - not just once, but across sessions and over time. The system gets smarter as it accumulates context: user goals, past interactions, and what's worked before. The ambition is to support users through ongoing processes, not just individual moments.
Together with our sister team, Results, we form the Insights area, where AI is a core part of how we build product experiences. We're a full product team: a product manager, a product designer, an engineering manager, and engineers. We work closely and partner up with other product teams across Mentimeter, but we also own end-to-end user experiences in our own right.
The work shifts between modes - running experiments to learn what creates value, and building the features, systems, and experiences that deliver it. If you enjoy shaping product direction as much as writing code, and can move between exploration and execution, you'll fit in here.
You have genuine enthusiasm for building AI-driven products and have shipped LLM-powered work into live environments, where user behavior, cost, latency, and failure modes were part of the job. Your background might be in software engineering, data science, ML engineering, or something else entirely – what matters is that you combine solid judgment on LLMs and data with a product-centric approach and ship product experiences that users value.
You’re comfortable navigating uncertainty in a rapidly developing space, and you have a track record of tackling complex technical challenges. We’re especially interested in LLM work that reached production or sustained real use – commercial products, internal platforms with serious adoption, or open-source with a clear quality bar – and we’re open to other paths if you can show depth (what you owned, how you measured quality, what failed in the wild).
You think about what to build as well as how to build it. You communicate clearly, simplify complex technical concepts, and share ownership of outcomes with the rest of the team. You're comfortable working across team boundaries - liaising with other product teams, thinking about broader architectural needs, and representing AI expertise in cross-team discussions.
We don’t optimize for a specific number of years on a CV – careers aren’t linear. What we do need is seniority in the type and depth of experience. With that said, this is not an entry-level role – we’re hiring someone who can contribute at a senior level from early on.
Swedish is not required - daily work is carried out in English, and the Mentimeter team currently boasts over 50 nationalities. A college degree is not strictly required.
This is a hybrid/on-site role at Mentimeter HQ in Stockholm, where we expect you to be in the office at least 3 days/week.
Please note that we do not offer relocation sponsorship for the position.

Modern data platforms are built on events - well-defined, trustworthy signals that describe how users interact with products and systems over time. As a Data Engineer you will help build and improve the data platform that powers analytics, growth, personalization and decision-making across the company.
This role is part of the Data Platform team, where we design and maintain the core data infrastructure that serves Product, Marketing, Growth, and Analytics. We are currently in the early stages of building out a new event-driven architecture, and this role will be part of shaping it. That means owning parts of the streaming infrastructure, contributing to foundational decisions about how events are structured and evolved, and having real influence over how data flows across the company for years to come.
