Backend Engineer (Python, Kubernetes, AWS)
The Role
As a Backend Engineer, you will design and build scalable services that power mission-critical applications in a cloud native environment. You will develop Python based systems deployed on Kubernetes and AWS, with a focus on reliability, performance, and security. This role offers strong ownership of backend architecture and the opportunity to shape platform standards and best practices.
What You’ll Do
- Design and implement backend services and APIs using Python frameworks
- Build and deploy containerized applications on Kubernetes in AWS
- Leverage specific AWS services to power those applications (e.g. Clean Rooms, EventBridge, etc.)
- Extend infrastructure as code and improve CI/CD pipelines
- Optimize system performance, scalability, and fault tolerance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define service contracts and architecture
- Monitor production systems and resolve reliability and performance issues
What You’ll Bring
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 2+ years of backend software development experience for junior candidates; 6+ years for senior candidates
- Professional experience developing production backend services and APIs in Python
- Hands on experience with Kubernetes and containerized workloads
- Experience deploying and operating services in AWS
- Experience integrating agentic code generation tools such as Claude Code or Codex into day to day software engineering practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform/CloudFormation/Pulumi
- Familiarity with observability tools for logging, metrics, and tracing
- Experience implementing secure authentication and authorization mechanisms
- Understanding of architectural considerations for on premises deployments, including networking and security constraints
- Knowledge of application security best practices (vulnerability management, security posture management, and risk assessment) and compliance frameworks (HIPAA, GDPR, HITRUST)

Data Engineer (Python, Spark, Snowflake)
The Role
As a Data Engineer, you will build and scale health data pipelines that enable data discoverability, linkage, privacy, machine learning, and analytics across the organization. You will work with Python, Spark, and Snowflake to design efficient data models and reliable processing frameworks. This role provides the opportunity to shape foundational data infrastructure that supports regulatory-grade health decisions at scale.
What You’ll Do
- Design and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python, Spark, and Airflow
- Ensure pipeline reliability, data quality, and observability
- Partner with Science and Product to define and prioritize data requirements
- Implement automated testing and optimize processing performance and cost
- Design and maintain data validation frameworks aligned with regulatory requirements
What You’ll Bring
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 2+ years of data engineering or software engineering experience for junior candidates; 5+ years for senior candidates
- Professional experience building data pipelines in Python
- Hands on experience with distributed data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark and orchestration with Airflow
- Experience working with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake
- Experience integrating agentic code generation tools such as Claude Code or Codex into day to day software engineering practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing dimensional or analytics data models
- Experience working in AWS-based data environments
- Experience implementing data governance and quality frameworks

The Role
As a Full-Stack Engineer, you will build and scale user-facing applications and backend services that support complex data-driven workflows. You will contribute across the stack, from designing APIs in Python to developing intuitive interfaces in React. This role provides meaningful ownership of features that directly impact customers and internal stakeholders.
What You’ll Do
- Design and implement backend services using Python and Django/Flask/FastAPI
- Build responsive, maintainable front-end applications using React with TypeScript
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and data models
- Collaborate with Product and Design partners to deliver high-quality features
- Write automated tests and participate in code reviews to ensure reliability
