ROLE/RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Cubist Business Management team manages all aspects of onboarding new systematic equity trading teams and systematic macro trading teams as well as deployments of new trading strategies.  The team also represents PMs with external counterparties and is responsible for rate negotiations, quant research vendor relationship management, and trading relationship management. General responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting veteran Cubist Business Management team members along the following lines:

• Complete project lifecycle management launching new PM Teams into production
• Design PM research and trading solutions that adhere to firm standards
• Educate PM teams on Point72 operating procedures and technology integration
• Lead new strategy rollout projects internally with Technology, Operations, Legal, Compliance, and Risk groups, and externally with brokers, exchanges, and vendors
• Provide day-to-day support for various operational procedures such as broker data management, compliance monitoring, trading, and business continuity

The person in this role must have a technical background as well as good communication skills and a willingness to learn day-to-day trading and finance operations.  The candidate should have a good understanding of global market structure and electronic trading systems and have familiarity with trading rules and regulations or demonstrate an aptitude to learn. Familiarity with research and market data sources is a strong plus but not a requirement.

REQUIREMENTS:

• This is a highly selective position. The ideal candidates will have a combination of software development and communication skills with some experience working in a financial services organization.
• A BS in finance, statistics, math, and engineering or computer science is strongly preferred. 2 years of relevant work experience is a plus.
• Must have the ability to assist veteran specialists while simultaneously managing multiple long-term and short-term projects independently under very tight project deadlines.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills, excellent time management skills and a team attitude.
• Ability to clearly document technical specifications and articulate concepts in a less-technical fashion.
• Working experience in Python and SQL. Linux/Unix scripting (Perl, bash, etc.) a plus.
• Additional experience with database design is a plus.
• We support systematic trading in liquid instruments (global equities, futures, and foreign exchange) as well as systematic trading in macro instruments (e.g., bonds, rates, and credit). Candidates with specific work experience and knowledge of market regulations in these areas will be strongly preferred but not required.

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Physical Design Engineer to join our high-performance design team working on next-generation transceiver IPs targeting the TSMC 5nm, 3nm technology node.

In this role, you will take ownership of physical implementation from RTL to GDSII, ensure timing and power closure for ultra-high-speed designs, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to resolve challenges unique to advanced nodes and multi-gigabit transceiver architectures.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform full-chip and block-level physical implementation including floor planning, placement, clock tree synthesis (CTS), routing, and physical verification for high-speed designs in TSMC 3nm.
• Collaborate with RTL and STA teams to ensure clean handoffs and convergent timing, area, and power.
• Work on advanced physical design techniques to support multiple voltage/frequency domains, hierarchical design, and physical-aware synthesis.
• Handle advanced physical design topics:
• EM/IR analysis and power grid optimization
• Congestion analysis and mitigation
• Clock domain crossing and skew optimization
• RC extraction-aware placement and routing
• Integrate IPs and top-level blocks with attention to physical interfaces, constraints, and timing alignment.
• Participate in defining floorplan strategy and chip partitioning for multi-gigabit transceivers.
• Perform ECO implementation and support tapeout signoff activities.
• Ensure DRC/LVS/ANT/CELL/ERC clean database using industry-standard physical verification tools.
• Use industry-standard tools (e.g., ICC2, Innovus, Voltus, RedHawk, Calibre) for implementation and signoff.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts (Tcl, Python, Perl) for physical design flows and regressions.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in physical design with advanced technology nodes (preferably ≤ 5nm).
• Strong experience with:
• Floor planning, placement, CTS, routing, and IR drop mitigation
• Signoff checks (DRC/LVS/ANT/ERC) and debugging
• Timing closure collaboration with STA team
• Hands-on experience with tools such as Synopsys ICC2, Cadence Innovus, Calibre, Voltus.
• Experience in integrating high-speed IPs (e.g., SerDes, PHYs) into SoC or chiplet environments.
• Experience in high frequence data path, DSP designs.
• Solid scripting skills for automation and productivity enhancement.

• The right candidate will be a self-starter who assumes full ownership of DV tasks and delivers high-quality results.
• Develop test plans at block, sub-system, and chip level.
• Execute SoC-based verification at full-chip and module level verification. Focus on Display subsystem (GPU, Display Controller), Radio Subsystem, SoC integration verification. 
• Experience in ARM or RISC-V based micro-controllers.
• Power-aware methodology (CPF/UPF).
• Write C-based lib packages and tests.
• Architect and implement scalable and reusable module test benches using SystemVerilog and UVM.
• Develop comprehensive test cases, stimulus generation, and checkers to achieve high coverage.
• Automate the test environment for randomized testing and score-boarding.
• Utilize advanced debugging techniques to identify and resolve design and verification issues.
• Perform root-cause analysis and work with design teams to fix identified issues.
• Define and track functional and code coverage metrics to ensure thorough verification.
• Ensure that verification quality meets or exceeds industry standards and project requirements.
• Edge-based AI inference is preferred.

• BSEE/MSEE with 10+ years of experience (seniority depends on years of experience) in block, sub-system, and full-chip verification.
• Technologies: Experienced in ARM M/RISC-V (Preferred) SoC Verification, expert in AMBA AXI/AHB/APB, DMA, Flow Control, Serial Devices, Low Power (CPF/UPF) Verification, 3rd party IP integration verification.
• Experience in Display, Audio domains is a plus.
• Languages: Strong in SystemVerilog (UVM), Verilog, C/C++, Python, Perl, or Makefile.
• Should have delivered multiple chips functioning to specification.
• Identify and manage verification deliverables, milestones, and schedules.
• Proactively identify potential verification risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with design, architecture, and software teams to understand and verify design intent.
• Communicate verification progress, issues, and results to stakeholders and management.
• Strong in understanding multiple architectures, integrating 3rd party IPs/VIPs, and working with mixed-signal designs with low-power design and verification challenges.
• Strong understanding/exposure to Design Verification for low-power battery-operated designs is highly desired.
