Job Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Model Risk Quant Manager to join OKX's Model Risk Management (MRM) function. As OKX's second line of defense (2LOD), this role independently validates FinCrime, AML, and AI/ML models that are core to OKX's regulatory compliance globally — and contributes to the build-out of OKX's enterprise AI Governance framework under the direction of the Global Head of MRM.
The role spans: (1) independent quantitative validation of FinCrime and AML models, including their machine-learning sub-components; (2) validation of AI/ML and Generative AI applications across OKX; and (3) supporting the Global Head of MRM in operationalizing validation playbooks, model inventory standards, and AI Governance frameworks. The ideal candidate combines deep quantitative rigor with hands-on experience in both financial crime model validation and AI/ML model governance — preferably with crypto-specific domain knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead independent quantitative validation of FinCrime, AML, AI/ML, and Generative AI models across OKX.
-
Perform conceptual soundness and data integrity reviews — assess model theory, methodology, assumptions, data quality, lineage, and applicability to crypto-specific risk typologies.
-
Perform quantitative model performance testing — back-testing, sensitivity analysis, threshold tuning, drift detection, and outcomes analysis — with additional fairness, explainability, and adversarial robustness assessments for AI/ML models.

Apply effective challenge to 1LOD model owners and developers; document validation findings, model limitations, and required remediations.
-
Author validation reports suitable for governance committees and regulatory inspections.
-
Track validation findings through remediation closure; participate in annual and triggered revalidation cycles; contribute to and maintain the enterprise Model Inventory (entry, classification, materiality assessment).

Ensure validations meet OKX's Global Model Risk Policy and applicable global regulatory obligations — including AI governance frameworks where ML/AI components apply.

Contribute to the build-out of validation playbooks, model inventory standards (including AI/ML risk tiering), and operational frameworks — including OKX's AI Governance framework — under the direction of the Global Head of MRM.

Partner with model developers / owners, Compliance, Tech, Internal Audit, and Legal — while preserving organizational independence from model development.
Qualifications:
-
Master's or Ph.D. in Quantitative Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics, Computer Science, or another quantitative field — or equivalent depth of professional experience.

8+ years of relevant quantitative experience, of which at least 3 years in independent model validation (2LOD) at a financial institution, fintech, or crypto firm.

Demonstrated experience validating risk models — such as credit, market, FinCrime, fraud, or AML.
-
Hands-on experience validating statistical, machine learning, AI/ML, and Generative AI models — hypothesis testing, performance benchmarking, fairness testing, drift detection, explainability, and adversarial robustness.

Working knowledge of MRM and AI governance frameworks — SR 11-7 / SR 26-2, EU AI Act, US Treasury FS AI RMF, NIST AI RMF, or equivalent.

Strong programming proficiency in Python, SQL, and R.

Experience with cloud / big-data platforms — BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks, Hadoop/Hive, MaxCompute, or equivalent.

Excellent written and verbal communication — capable of authoring formal validation reports and presenting findings to senior risk committees, regulators, and external auditors.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with crypto exchanges, DeFi platforms, or blockchain analytics firms.

Hands-on experience with AML / FinCrime model validation techniques.

Hands-on experience with on-chain analytics tooling — Chainalysis, TRM Labs, Elliptic, or equivalent. Experience validating crypto-native risk models.

Professional certifications: CFA, FRM, CAMS, CCAS (one or more).

Familiarity with smart contract risk analysis, DeFi protocol risk, and stablecoin flows.

About The Opportunity
Good compliance analytics depends entirely on good data infrastructure. At a global crypto exchange, that infrastructure has to handle on-chain transaction data, fiat flows, KYC and KYB records, and behavioural signals across multiple jurisdictions, all in a form that data scientists and analysts can actually use. This role exists to build and own that foundation, and the quality of what gets built here directly shapes what the compliance function is capable of detecting.
You will work closely with data scientists, ML engineers, analytics engineers, and compliance specialists as a core part of the team that delivers compliance intelligence at scale. The infrastructure you build is not internal plumbing; it is what enables detection models to run, self-serve analytics to function, and regulatory responses to be grounded in reliable, traceable data.
AI-assisted engineering is how this team works. We use LLM tooling to accelerate pipeline development, automate documentation, improve code quality, and move faster on complex data problems. We are looking for a data engineer who already works this way and can bring that practice into a compliance data environment where reliability and auditability are non-negotiable alongside speed.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines that ingest, transform, and deliver data for compliance analytics use cases including AML transaction monitoring, KYC/KYB, sanctions screening, and SAR reporting.
- Assess and improve existing data infrastructure: identify pipeline gaps, lineage issues, and data quality problems that silently degrade model and analytics output, and work through them systematically.
- Build and maintain compliance-specific data marts and semantic layers that allow data scientists and analysts to work independently, reducing the volume of ad-hoc data requests and increasing the team's overall throughput.
- Partner with data scientists and ML engineers to productionise feature pipelines, maintain data freshness, and build the infrastructure that keeps compliance ML models running reliably in production.
- Apply AI-assisted development as standard practice: using LLM tooling to write and review pipeline code, automate data quality checks, generate documentation, and accelerate debugging. The expectation is that you bring this fluency with you and use it to raise the quality and pace of your work.
- Implement data quality monitoring, pipeline health checks, and alerting that surfaces data integrity issues before they affect compliance decisions or model outputs.
- Work with compliance and legal teams to understand regulatory requirements around data retention, access control, and auditability, and build the controls that meet those requirements in practice.
- Support regulatory lookbacks and audit responses by ensuring historical data is retrievable, lineage is documented, and the evidence base the compliance team needs can be assembled accurately and quickly.
What We Look For In You
- 8+ years in data engineering or a closely related role, with meaningful experience in financial services, fintech, or a compliance-adjacent environment. We welcome candidates across seniority levels; scope and responsibilities will be calibrated to your experience.
- Strong Python and SQL, with hands-on experience in distributed computing frameworks such as Spark, Hadoop, or Databricks.
- Solid experience with cloud and big data platforms including Alibaba MaxCompute, Google BigQuery, AWS Redshift, or equivalent, and a track record of building production-grade pipelines where reliability and data quality are treated as requirements rather than afterthoughts.
- Hands-on fluency with AI-assisted engineering. You use LLM coding tools regularly, have applied them to real data engineering work, and have a practical view on where they improve output quality and where they need careful oversight. This is part of how the team operates, not an optional extra.
- Experience designing data marts, dimensional models, or semantic layers for consumption by non-engineering stakeholders, with an understanding of what makes a self-serve analytics layer actually usable.
- A solid grounding in data governance, access control, and audit trail requirements in regulated industries, with an appreciation for why those requirements exist and how to implement them without creating unnecessary friction.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to translate data infrastructure decisions and constraints for compliance, legal, and business stakeholders who care about outcomes rather than technical architecture.
- Familiarity with the crypto ecosystem, on-chain data structures, blockchain analytics, or VASP regulatory frameworks is a meaningful advantage for this role and will give you useful context from day one.

- Translate compliance and regulatory requirements into well-defined analytical problems, working with compliance stakeholders to understand what the models need to detect, where current approaches fall short, and what good performance looks like in practice.
- Conduct exploratory analysis on on-chain and off-chain datasets to surface patterns, validate hypotheses, and develop candidate features for detection models, using AI-assisted tooling to accelerate the cycle from hypothesis to validated insight.
- Apply AI-assisted coding and automation as standard practice: using LLM tools to write, review, and improve analytical code; building automated workflows that reduce manual query cycles; and contributing to AI-augmented investigation tools that help compliance analysts work through alerts and cases more effectively.
- Work with ML engineers and data engineers to ensure analytical work is designed for production, reviewing feature logic, validating data quality assumptions, and providing the domain context that engineers need to build pipelines that behave correctly.
- Maintain clear documentation for models and analyses, capturing methodology, data lineage, and performance metrics to the standard required for internal review and regulatory scrutiny.

What We Look For In You

- Own the production infrastructure for compliance ML: feature pipelines, model serving, monitoring, drift detection, and retraining workflows. Models in a compliance context need to be reliable, auditable, and well documented, and you will be responsible for making sure they are.
- Build and maintain internal ML tooling that the broader team depends on: reusable pipeline components, experiment tracking, model registries, and evaluation frameworks that raise the quality and speed of model development across the team.
- Apply AI-assisted coding and automation as a matter of course: using LLM tooling to accelerate development, building automated pipelines that reduce manual analytical work, and integrating LLM-based capabilities into compliance workflows such as SAR narrative assistance, alert summarisation, and investigative triage. The expectation is that you bring this fluency with you, not that you develop it here.
- Work with data scientists to take research-stage models into production, reviewing feature logic, validating pipeline assumptions, and bridging the gap between a notebook and a deployment that a compliance team can rely on.
- Collaborate with compliance and legal stakeholders to ensure models are explainable and documented to the standard required for internal governance and regulatory review.
- Keep a close eye on developments in compliance-relevant ML: graph neural networks for network-based AML detection, anomaly detection approaches for novel typologies, and emerging LLM applications in regulated environments, bringing relevant ideas into the team's work where they hold up to scrutiny.
What We Look For In You
- 8+ years in ML engineering, data science, or a closely related field, with a strong track record of taking models from prototype to production in environments where reliability and auditability matter. We welcome candidates across seniority levels; scope will be calibrated to your experience.
- Solid Python and experience with ML frameworks alongside hands-on MLOps practice including model deployment, monitoring, and CI/CD pipelines for ML workflows.

- Good communication skills and a collaborative working style, with the ability to work effectively alongside data scientists, compliance domain experts, and engineers who each bring a different perspective to the same problem.
- Experience in financial services, fintech, or a crypto exchange, particularly in AML, KYC/KYB, transaction monitoring, or a related compliance domain, is a meaningful advantage.
- Familiarity with the crypto ecosystem, on-chain data, blockchain analytics, or VASP regulatory frameworks is a plus and will give you a head start in understanding the data you will be working with.

We are seeking a highly skilled Presales /Solution Architect to join our dynamic team. The Presales team will be responsible for designing and implementing innovative solutions to meet our clients' business needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate complex concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities
- Educate prospects and customers on what is possible with TiDB and share best practices for integrating into their applications
- Understand customer requirements and communicate the business value of solving technology problems using TiDB
- Guide the design and deployment of hybrid transactional and analytical databases that impact multiple functional areas of a customer’s organization
- Work on RFPs / customer’s technical requirements with the Sales team
- Prepare demos and proofs-of-concept to demonstrate various use cases for TiDB
- Create technical content to show customers how to integrate TiDB or implement best practices for new technologies
- During a customer's implementation, assist backend developers, database administrators, product managers, and project owners with any and all technical questions that arise
- Assist developers with debugging their database integrations, and suggesting code optimization in a variety of programming languages
- Document the architectural solutions that customers have designed and deployed
- Distill and communicate customer needs and product feedback to Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales
- Public speaking by participating in physical or online events
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Presales or similar role, with a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in solution design and implementation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong technical proficiency in a wide range of technologies, including but not limited to cloud computing, microservices architecture, API design, database systems, and security principles.
- A strong Database experience is a must. MySQL experience is most preferred.
- A strong understanding of the software development lifecycle;
- Working understanding of code and script in Python, Shell, or Golang is a plus.
- Docker/Kubernetes knowledge is a strong plus.
- Experience in one or more public cloud environments, e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform;
- Typically 15-25% travel, depending on role
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS or a comparable field is preferred.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Experience in technical support of databases (MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, MongoDB, etc) or big data systems (Kafka, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Hadoop, Spark, etc) is a strong plus.
- Experience in operating MySQL, Cassandra, Postgres, and other transactional databases in a large-scale production environment is a strong plus.
- Experience in operating databases in Kubernetes or public cloud environments is a strong plus.
