The TV Technology team within the Roku TV New Product Introduction (NPI) group focuses on delivering the best Audio Quality (AQ) and Picture Quality (PQ) and driving innovation. With tens of millions of TVs sold globally, thousands of channels, and billions of hours streamed on Roku TVs, worldclass AQ and PQ are essential.
We are seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join the TV Technology team, based in Shenzhen. As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be focused on helping our TV partners build the most desirable and best Smart TVs available. Your expertise in AQ and/or PQ will be utilized to help achieve the best possible audio and picture performance on specific mass-produced TV models by working closely with our TV partners, SOC vendors, and Roku TV engineers. You will also work on optimize and drive automation for existing audio and/or picture test strategies, e.g. by using AI and automation solutions to enhance efficiency and coverage.

The Devices Hardware Engineering team is responsible for the core physical products that bring the Roku experience into millions of homes. We design and develop the industry-leading hardware that powers our ecosystem, including set-top boxes, streaming sticks, remotes, and innovative new devices. As a seasoned team of engineers, we focus on delivering high-performance, cost-effective, and reliable consumer electronics at a global scale. We are seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer to join the Devices Hardware Engineering team. Based in Shenzhen, you will be our team’s first EE hire in Asia, serving as a critical bridge between our headquarters and our manufacturing partners. You will develop and lead exciting new products (set-top boxes, streaming players, remotes) through the complete design lifecycle, from initial concept to mass production (MP).
The successful candidate will be an energetic, self-starting team player who can manage multiple projects and thrive during rapid development cycles. You will possess the expertise and determination to ensure projects stay on target regarding design, quality, schedule, and cost.

The Job:
Lead the system-level hardware architecture, design, and development for 3D printers and post-processing devices.
Drive the selection and integration of core components: motion control, heating, sensors, and embedded systems.
Own the full hardware development cycle: prototyping, testing, validation, and DFM and cost.
Ensure all hardware meets performance, reliability, safety, and compliance standards.
Manage the hardware development timeline and collaborate closely with firmware, software, and manufacturing teams.
Build, mentor, and manage the hardware engineering team.
You:
Bachelor's/Master's in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field.
5+ years of hands-on hardware development experience, including 2+ years in a technical lead or management role.
Proven track record of delivering complex electromechanical products to mass production. Experience with 3D printers, CNC, or robotics is a strong plus.
Strong expertise in areas such as motion control, thermal design, or embedded hardware.
Proficient in 3D CAD (e.g., SolidWorks) and knowledgeable in manufacturing processes.
Excellent leadership and project management skills.
Good communication skills in English is preferred.

The Job:
Own the end-to-end software architecture for 3D printers and post-processing equipment, encompassing embedded firmware interfaces, device control, and application/cloud layers.
Lead the design and development of reliable, real-time control software for precise motion, thermal management, and sensor integration on Linux-based embedded systems.
Drive the development of user-facing software, including desktop applications, web interfaces, or mobile apps for device control, print management, and monitoring.
Establish and maintain software development best practices, including code architecture, testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and documentation.
Collaborate closely with Hardware and Product teams to define system requirements and ensure seamless hardware-software integration.
Build, mentor, and manage the software engineering team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
Manage the software development lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality, stable releases.
You:
Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of professional software development experience, with 2+ years in a technical leadership or team management role.
Strong expertise in C/C++ development for real-time or performance-critical systems, with proven experience in embedded Linux environments.
Experience with software architecture design for complex electromechanical devices (IoT, robotics, CNC, or 3D printers is a strong plus).
Familiarity with communication protocols (e.g., SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, Modbus) and hardware/software interfacing.
Experience with modern software practices (version control, code review, CI/CD, testing).
Knowledge of Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or UI frameworks (Qt, React, etc.) is advantageous.
Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
Good command of English is preferred.
