Partner with Data Science, Product, and Engineering leadership to understand data needs and translate them into technical requirements
Establish and maintain high data integrity standards, SLAs, alerting, and best practices for the team
Drive the development of foundational data products, dashboards, and tools to enable self-serve analytics; partner with the Data Science team to build innovative data tools using Claude to scale data-driven decisions across Product teams
Foster a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and data-driven decision making
Serve as a technical thought leader for data modeling, ETL processes, and product analytics infrastructure
5+ years of experience managing analytics engineering or data engineering teams, preferably in a scaling startup environment
8+ years of total experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or similar data-focused roles
Deep expertise in data modeling, ETL pipelines, and data warehouse architecture
Strong technical foundation with expertise in SQL, Python, dbt, and modern data stack tools

Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
Experience scaling analytics functions from early stage to maturity in rapidly changing environments
Track record of establishing data governance, quality standards, and best practices
A bias for action and urgency, not letting perfect be the enemy of the effective
A “full-stack mindset”, not hesitating to do what it takes to solve a problem end-to-end
A passion for Anthropic’s mission of building helpful, honest, and harmless AI
The annual compensation range for this role is listed below.
For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role.
Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience
Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position
Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.
Visa sponsorship: We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this.
We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification. Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team.

We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues. Who we are
In the past, to be a successful restaurateur, you simply had to have a passion for food and a passion for people - but to succeed as a digital restaurateur you also need to have a passion for technology. We believe in the joy of serving others, and that's why we created Otter – to help restaurateurs succeed in online food delivery. Restaurants around the world, both large and small, including Chick-fil-A, Ben & Jerry’s, KFC, and Eataly trust our software to power their delivery business. We increase sales, reduce order issues, and decrease delivery headaches.
What you’ll do
The restaurant industry has zero data standardization - POS systems, delivery apps, and inventory tools all speak different languages. This causes semantic drift, impedes AI enablement, and erodes trust. The Analytics Engineering team is tackling this head-on through best-in-class data normalization and modeling, a semantic layer, and automated data quality frameworks - contributing to a world-class data ecosystem from the ground up.
As an early and key contributor to this team, you'll balance hands-on technical ownership with deep cross-functional collaboration. That means building scalable data models and pipelines while partnering with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Data Science to understand how restaurants use Otter, measure platform quality and growth, and transform raw operational data into production-ready datasets that power business decisions and AI-driven products.

About Gusto
At Gusto, we're on a mission to grow the small business economy. We handle the hard stuff — payroll, health insurance, 401(k)s, and HR — so owners can focus on their craft and their customers. With teams in Denver, San Francisco, and New York, we support more than 500,000 small businesses nationwide and are building a workplace that reflects the people we serve.
All full-time employees receive competitive base pay, benefits, and equity (RSUs) — because everyone who helps build Gusto should share in its success. Offer amounts are determined by role, level, and location. Learn more about our Total Rewards philosophy.
AI is a fundamental part of how work gets done at Gusto. We expect all team members to actively engage with AI tools relevant to their role and grow their fluency as the technology evolves. AI experience requirements vary by role and will be assessed during the interview process.
The Data Engineering team builds tools and systems that make Gusto's data consistent, user-friendly, and helpful. This helps our teams make decisions using data and provide intelligent, customized experiences to our customers.
We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer who can take loosely defined problems and drive them end-to-end—from framing the problem and aligning stakeholders to designing, building, and delivering durable data solutions. You’ll partner closely with analytics, product, and engineering teams to deliver data solutions that drive real business and customer impact.
Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $155,000-$185,000/yr in Denver, $170,000-$200,000/yr in Los Angeles, and $190,000-$220,000/yr for San Francisco, Seattle, and New York. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.
Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week (or more depending on role). The same office expectations apply to all Symmetry roles, Gusto's subsidiary, whose physical office is in Scottsdale.
Note: The San Francisco office expectations encompass both the San Francisco and San Jose metro areas.
When approved to work from a location other than a Gusto office, a secure, reliable, and consistent internet connection is required. This includes non-office days for hybrid employees.
Our customers come from all walks of life and so do we. We hire great people from a wide variety of backgrounds, not just because it's the right thing to do, but because it makes our company stronger. If you share our values and our enthusiasm for small businesses, you will find a home at Gusto.

We are building an AI-native Data Cloud and need a VP of Engineering who owns architecture, execution, and business outcomes end-to-end. The buck stops with this role for platform reliability, developer experience, and Data Cloud adoption.
DigitalOcean’s Data Cloud will power AI applications end-to-end—from data ingestion to real-time inference—enabling developers to build production-grade RAG systems, AI agents, and analytics workflows on a single, integrated platform. This role is responsible for delivering that platform by leveraging and extending DigitalOcean’s existing infrastructure, PaaS, and AI capabilities.
This is not a traditional data platform role. You will define and execute the strategy to move DigitalOcean up the stack—from infrastructure provider to a differentiated AI application and inference platform. Success will be measured through roadmap velocity, system reliability, developer adoption, and measurable business impact.
We are looking for a leader who translates strategy into shipped systems, with clear accountability for outcomes.

Architecture and delivery of a unified platform spanning:
What Success Looks Like (12 months)
Critical requirement:
You have personally driven complex distributed systems from concept to production—not just managed teams that did.
Why This Role Matters
The Data Cloud is the control plane for AI applications. If DigitalOcean gets this right, it becomes the platform where developers build and scale intelligent applications—not just where infrastructure runs. If not, it remains an interchangeable infrastructure.

1 in 4 people in the US have a treatable mental health condition, but most providers don't accept insurance, making therapy too expensive for most people. Headway’s mission is to fix this by building a new mental healthcare system everyone can access. We started by solving the biggest barrier to care: insurance. The admin work - credentialing, claims, payment reconciliation - is a nightmare. We've automated that.
But we're going further. Over 70,000 providers across all 50 states run their practice on our software, serving over 1 million patients. We are building the best tools for therapists to run their entire practice, reimagining the experience of finding a therapist, and investing in the platform foundations to enable this at scale. We aren't just a billing layer; we are becoming the platform where care actually happens.
We're a Series D company with $325M+ in funding (a16z, Accel, GV, etc.), looking for exceptional people to help us achieve this mission. We want your time here to be the most meaningful experience of your career. Join us, and help change mental healthcare for the better.
Headway's mission is to build a new mental health care system that everyone can access. We've built technology that takes the hardest parts of mental healthcare — finding the right provider, navigating insurance, managing payments — and makes them simple. We're now one of the fastest-growing companies in healthcare, with more than 200,000 patients finding care through Headway and thousands of therapists using our platform to grow their practices.
The Patient Core Experience team owns how patients find the right therapist on Headway. From search through the first several sessions, our four engineering pods — Onboarding, Profiles + Checkout, Ranking + Relevance, and Activation — build the systems that make great therapeutic matches happen.
We operate a three-sided marketplace (patients, providers, payers) with real complexity and massive impact. We're evolving from a provider directory into an intelligent matching platform that uses communication style, data-backed expertise signals, and patient-reported outcomes to connect people with therapists who are genuinely right for them.
Principles that guide us:
This role exists because we have hard, specific challenges that need senior engineering leadership to crack. Here's what your first year looks like:
Build an ML-powered matching system from the ground up. Our current matching is largely filter-based. We need to move to ML-powered ranking that incorporates provider communication style, expertise signals, and patient outcome data — without degrading the patient experience during the transition. You'll define the technical strategy for how we get there and own the execution across multiple pods.
Rearchitect team topology as the product evolves. We have four pods today, but the boundaries between ranking, activation, and onboarding will shift as we move toward intelligent matching. You'll need to evolve team structure, ownership boundaries, and technical interfaces as the product changes shape. This includes scaling the org from ~18 to ~25+ engineers while maintaining velocity and quality.
Close the gap between engineering output and patient outcomes. We have patient funnel metrics (intake-to-match, match-to-book, book-to-retained) but engineering doesn't yet co-own them tightly enough with Product and Data. You'll establish the operating model where engineering, product, and data science jointly own these metrics in a true triad — not one where engineering is an execution arm.
Define how your teams build software in the AI era. This isn't about adding a bullet point on AI tooling. You'll set concrete standards for how your ~30 engineers use AI-assisted development — how it changes code review, testing strategy, onboarding, and potentially team composition. You'll also own the AI/ML strategy for the product itself: where we use ML models vs. heuristics, how we handle explainability in a healthcare context, and how we build patient trust in AI-driven recommendations.
Required experience:
Nice-to-have:
Our platform runs on Python (Django/FastAPI) and TypeScript/React on the frontend. Elasticsearch powers search and ranking. PostgreSQL and Redis handle data storage and caching. We use dbt and Snowflake for data pipelines, Temporal for workflow orchestration, and custom ML models for matching. Everything runs on AWS.
You won't be writing code daily, but you'll need to engage deeply enough with these systems to make sound technical and organizational decisions.
Compensation and Benefits:
The expected base pay range for this position is $264,000 to $330,000, based on a variety of factors including qualifications, experience, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for an equity grant, depending on the position and level.
We are committed to offering a comprehensive and competitive total rewards package, including robust health and wellness benefits, retirement savings, and meaningful ownership opportunities through equity. Compensation decisions are made holistically, ensuring fairness and alignment with market benchmarks while recognizing individual contributions and potential.
We believe a team's strength is in its people, and we cannot achieve this mission without a team that reflects the diversity of this problem – across race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, age, national origin, religion, family status, disability, military status, and experience. Headway is committed to the full inclusion of all qualified individuals. As part of this commitment, Headway will ensure that persons with disabilities are provided with reasonable accommodations. If reasonable accommodation is needed to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform essential job functions, and/or receive other benefits and privileges of employment, please inform the recruiter when they contact you to schedule your interview.

We’re a high-growth tech company. The pace is fast, the work takes grit, and ambiguity is part of the job. As the world changes around us, we adapt - continuously evolving how we build, prioritize, and deliver.
Our business moves quickly, and there’s real opportunity to shape what we build next. Each of our verticals - Hunt, Offroad, Backcountry, and Fish - is at a different stage of maturity, which means the challenges you encounter and the impact you have will vary depending on where you sit and what the business needs most.
We operate with an experimentation mindset, continually iterating and improving how we solve problems. We expect our people to use the latest tooling, including AI, thoughtfully and responsibly, pairing human judgment with technology to increase quality, speed, and impact.
Our impact comes to life through the products we build, in the stories of our customers, and in our growing commitment to land stewardship and recreational access.
We are looking for a Data Scientist who views machine learning as a product, not just a research project. You aren't just an expert in XGBoost or Transformers; you are an expert in building the pipelines that make these models reliable, scalable, and impactful.

You’ll partner closely with others to solve complex problems and build solutions that scale across teams and platforms. Along the way, you’ll be supported with feedback, tools, and opportunities to grow your craft as you take on new challenges.

We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues. As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll help shape the future of our data architecture. You’ll work cross-functionally to design and implement robust data pipelines, define and uphold data governance standards, and ensure our platform is built to meet the growing needs of the business.
