Overview

The Plant Security Protection Specialist is responsible for the daily execution of security and assists with fire protection operations at the Blythewood, South Carolina Scout Motors production facility. This role focuses on field-level execution, guard force oversight, operational security support and incident response coordination to ensure the protection of employees, visitors, corporate assets, and production continuity. The Specialist works on-site at the facility, directly within plant operations, supporting the Manager of Plant Security and Fire Protection to execute and manage established security programs, monitor systems and personnel, and facilitate day-to-day security activities across the site.

Security Implementation and Procedures

• Support implementation of plant security procedures and operational compliance.
• Coordinate with leadership to ensure security procedures are followed.
• Support security coverage planning for special plant activities, production areas, and events on site.
• Support implementation of corrective security measures directed by leadership.
• Deliver operational security training and awareness briefings for employees, contractors, and security personnel.
• Provide guidance to guard force personnel on response procedures and security protocols
• Maintain incident logs, operational reports, and security documentation.
• Collect operational security metrics including incident statistics, guard performance data, alarm activity reports, and access control trends and assist the Manager of Security and Fire Protection with reporting and program performance tracking.
• Conduct preliminary incident investigations, including evidence collection and witness interviews.
• Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain investigation documentation.
• Coordinate with local law enforcement, emergency responders, and external security partners during incidents or investigations.

Security Personnel Monitoring

• Provide day-to-day operational monitoring of contract security guard force assigned to the facility.
• Conduct inspections of guard posts and access control points to ensure compliance with post orders and site procedures.
• Monitor staffing levels and operational readiness of security personnel.
• Address guard performance issues and escalate vendor performance concerns.

Security Technology and Access

• Support the Security Operations Center (SOC) / Fusion Center.
• Monitor the daily operation of security technologies including access control systems, CCTV platforms, badge management systems, and intrusion detection systems.
• Identify system issues, coordinate troubleshooting with IT or vendors, and track resolution.
• Support operational testing and readiness checks of electronic security systems.
• Coordinate with security technology vendors, facilities teams, and construction contractors during security equipment installation activities.
• Document installation progress, identify deficiencies, and coordinate corrective actions with vendors and project teams.
• Participate in system testing, commissioning, and operational acceptance of newly installed security technologies.
• Conduct field inspections of installed security equipment including cameras, access control readers, door hardware, alarm devices, and supporting infrastructure to verify alignment with approved security designs and operational requirements.
• Conduct routine inspections of plant perimeter fencing, gates, lighting, camera coverage, and restricted areas to identify physical security vulnerabilities and report mitigation recommendations.
• Manage and administer site access control processes including badge issuance, credential activation/deactivation, and access level verification.
• Support investigations related to access misuse or unauthorized access attempts.
• Support security operations related to plant activities including contractor access management and temporary security coverage.

Emergency Response

• Respond to security incidents, workplace disruptions, accidents, and emergency events occurring on plant property, including coordination of emergency response when required
• Coordinate response actions for alarms, suspicious activity, medical emergencies, and security incidents and provide real-time situational updates to leadership and the Manager of Security and Fire Protection
• Act as or support the Incident Commander during emergency events and assist with coordination of on-site response resources.

Location & Travel Expectations:

• This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Blythewood, SC 
• This role requires daily attendance in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events. 
• Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.
• Travel: Occasional business travel domestically and will be required, with opportunities to travel internationally. Valid driver's license required. Passport required.

• Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Emergency Management, or a related field preferred. Equivalent professional experience will be considered.
• 5- 7 years of progressive experience in physical security, industrial security, or law enforcement environments with at least 4 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in working in SOCs/fusion centers, preferably at a supervisory or senior level.
• Experience in writing scopes of work and managing contracts and managing third-party security vendors.
• In-depth knowledge of security principles, emergency response protocols, and crisis preparedness drills and exercises.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing security policies, procedures, and programs, ideally within a large-scale industrial environment.
• Familiarity with security and fire protection technologies, including access control systems, CCTV surveillance, intrusion detection, and basic knowledge of fire suppression systems.
• Experience in conducting security investigations and preparing detailed reports.
• Knowledge of relevant local, state, and federal regulations related to security and emergency management.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal stakeholders, external agencies, and contractors.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
• Ability to work and take decisions independently, handle multiple priorities, and adapt to changing circumstances in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Initial base salary range = $90,000.00 - $112,500.00

What you’ll do

• The Specialist is part of the Plant Engineering Production Steering & Battery Team and is responsible for tracking and reporting of production equipment at the Scout Motors plant. The Specialist will report to the Project Steering Manager.
• Responsible for the P-FMEA process and monitoring of status updates.
• Coordinate evaluation requests and drive the consolidation of the Plant Engineering departments as well as ensure risk management and OKR processes in the Serial Planning. 
• Management of the overall concept for risk management within series planning, preparation and safeguarding of organizational processes and model changes in series planning.
• Serve as a key leader in the serial scheduling steering team.
• Development and creation of a control strategy in coordination with adjacent departments (e.g. press shop, body shop, controlling, work and plant organization, IE & production system, production, construction infrastructure and product planning) to ensure, adapt and, if necessary, optimize the control of Plant Engineering regarding organizational, financial and time goals.
• Monitor and implement all key performance indicators and specifications of the various departments of Plant Engineering.  
• Support with Project Management tasks for the Supplier Park.
• Development and control of serial planning control processes using new technologies and interdisciplinary communication to increase the overall quality of coordination, cost reduction and to improve the effectiveness of series planning.
• Development and creation as well as implementation of planning concepts and projects including the corresponding design specifications or framework conditions for the Battery department. Ensuring of defined measures and development of techniques or processes including. analysis and evaluation of alternative solutions under consideration of economic standards.
• Responsible for the planning of complete production processes, equipment and methods across all work sequences in the Battery department and elaboration of these scopes into space plans, considering the requirements of all departments (and social partners).
• Creation of production plans for all work sequences according to the valid time finding procedures. Ensuring and controlling the defined measures and coordinating the activities of the technical contractors.
• Approval of technical specifications of production equipment and infrastructure and clarification of technical issues with technical contractors as well as suppliers of Battery equipment.
• Responsible of layouts, specifications, time schedules and investment plans, following economic standards.
• Preparation of offers, comparative analyses and purchase orders.
• Support and review concepts of IT based production process, e.g. build status documentation, production job management (JIT/JIS).
• Realization of sample build phase, PV, 0-series and production ramp-up to series operation.
• Processing of planning orders, improvement proposals and change requests including ongoing revision.
• Coordination of related departments, R&D and operators with focus on the implementation of suggestions for the product design according to production requirements and the identification of optimization measures.
• Assumption of special tasks corresponding to the skills and duties of the job holder.
• This Role is carried out responsibly in factual cooperative collaboration with supervisors, employees, involved and affected departments - in compliance with existing guidelines, standards and regulations

• 3+ years of professional experience in automotive production, with expertise in achieving stable production processes and in-depth knowledge of project steering operations.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, economics engineering, or related fields.
• Expertise in achieving stable production processes and in-depth knowledge of Serial Planning (HV Battery) Assembly management preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

About the role

The Human Resources Leader will serve as the strategic HR partner to the General Manager for a newly established union organization. This individual will be responsible for building and leading all HR functions, with a primary focus on labor relations, collective bargaining, and union management partnership development. The role is critical in shaping the company’s culture, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and establishing collaborative and productive relationships with union leadership‑management partnership development.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience operating in heavily unionized environments, including negotiating contracts, administering collective bargaining agreements, handling grievances, and coaching leaders on union related matters‑related matters.

Responsibilities

Labor Relations & Union Negotiations

• Lead all labor relations strategies and serve as the primary liaison between management and union representatives.
• Prepare for, lead, and support collective bargaining negotiations, including contract strategy development, proposals, costing, communications, and execution.
• Interpret and administer the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) and provide guidance to the General Manager and leadership team.
• Manage all grievance and arbitration processes, including investigations, documentation, and representation during hearings.
• Ensure consistent application of the CBA across the organization.
• Build effective, trust-based relationships with union leadership to support productive, collaborative operations.

HR Leadership & Organizational Development

• Establish foundational HR policies, processes, and structure for a newly formed unionized company.
• Partner with the GM and senior leaders to align people strategies with business objectives.
• Advise leaders on disciplinary matters, performance management, coaching, and conflict resolution.
• Drive workforce planning, staffing, onboarding, and development programs.
• Create and implement employee communication strategies that support transparency and engagement.

Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure full compliance with federal and state labor laws, including NLRB rules, FLSA, OSHA, and any industry specific requirements‑specific requirements.
• Conduct investigations into workplace issues ensuring compliance and risk mitigation.
• Maintain accurate documentation related to employee relations, grievances, and labor activities.

Culture & Employee Engagement

• Support the leadership team in establishing a fair, consistent, safety focused, high-performance culture‑focused, high‑performance culture.

Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business Administration, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including significant responsibility for labor relations in a unionized environment.
• Direct experience leading or co‑leading collective bargaining negotiations.
• Strong knowledge of labor law, grievance procedures, arbitration processes, and union contracts.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with operational leaders, particularly at the plant, facility, or field level.
• Experience building or stabilizing HR functions during periods of organizational change.

Preferred

• Master’s degree in Labor Relations, HR, or related field.
• Experience in start‑up or newly unionized environments.
• Certifications (SHRM‑CP/SCP, SPHR, or CLRP).
• Experience partnering directly with a General Manager or senior operations leader

Estimated Starting Salary Range
The estimated starting salary range for this role is $178,000 - $204,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a bi-weekly basis. The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company’s discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure, skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.
