Senior UX Designer – We're seeking an experienced professional for our rapidly expanding CX team, to work alongside Leads in UX, UI and Service Design, Optimization and Consulting.

The opportunity

Reporting into the Lead UX, this is a role requiring someone with excellent ecommerce/online experience, and who has a portfolio to prove it.

As Senior UX Designer, you’ll be a key part of the team and expected to take the initiative in ensuring the customers’ needs and our clients’ requirements are fully understood and met by the proposed solution. This is a practical role requiring someone with excellent technical ability who can lead and craft UX project deliverables across all phases of the design process, including running business requirements workshops, research and usability testing, and the creation of design artifacts such as journey maps, wireframes and prototypes.

What you’ll get to do

• Designing and running product definition and UX requirements workshops
• Scoping and managing a variety of both qualitative and quantitative research
• Analysing research data to identify and generate meaningful insights and behavioural patterns
• Using design thinking techniques to identify opportunity areas for new experiences, propositions, products and services, then help bring together the thinking around feasible, and viable solutions
• Creating design artefacts – e.g., personas, journey maps, storyboards, process flows, information architecture diagrams, wireframes, prototypes, etc
• Communicating, defending and building consensus around the desired product strategy and/or suggested design approach
• Working closely with stakeholders, fellow designers, program managers and developers, contributing to the improvement of the design quality and final user experience
• Collaborating with Account Leads, Head of UX, Head of CX and clients as a part of the creative process, understanding business drivers and provide UX leadership to clients and internal teams
• Presenting and communicating your ideas and design rationale both to working groups and C-Suite

What you should have

• Significant proven experience, ideally at an agency
• Compelling portfolio that demonstrates high quality, best in class UX design
• Breadth of experience in e-commerce or complex journeys.
• Experience owning the full UX process, including running discovery phases (both internal and external and qualitative and quantitative research), and solving complex problems using design-thinking methods and techniques
• Solid information, interaction and experience design skills
• Ability to understand the array of technical constraints, user goals and business requirements that shape current and future developments
• Excellent client communication skills
• Strong portfolio is a must

Role Summary and Impact 

As part of the Global Operations Centre (GOC), you will work closely with teams across the United States, Europe, and Asia to deliver high-impact solutions in a collaborative, multicultural environment. We are searching for a skilled and innovative Cypher/Graph Engineer to join our Data & Technology Solutions team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and optimizing graph database solutions that uncover complex relationships within our vast datasets, driving new insights for our clients and powering advanced features within WPP Open. If you have a deep understanding of graph theory, are proficient in Cypher, and are passionate about leveraging connected data to solve real-world problems in AdTech, we encourage you to apply.

• A specialist in graph databases, with hands-on experience in modelling, querying, and managing connected data. 
• A strong problem-solver, adept at translating complex business problems into graph-based solutions and efficient Cypher queries. 
• Collaborative and communicative, able to work effectively with data scientists, data engineers, and product teams to integrate graph insights. 
• Performance-minded, always seeking to optimize query performance and ensure the scalability of graph solutions.

What You will do:

Design and Implement Graph Database Solutions 

• Design and develop robust graph data models to represent complex relationships within various datasets, catering to specific business use cases in AdTech, marketing, and client intelligence. 
• Implement, configure, and maintain graph databases (e.g., Neo4j) in cloud environments (AWS, GCP). 
• Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex Cypher queries to extract, transform, and analyze data efficiently, supporting analytical and operational requirements. 
• Work closely with data engineers to establish seamless data ingestion pipelines for populating and updating graph databases. 

Apply Graph Algorithms and Enable Analytics 

• Identify opportunities to apply graph algorithms (e.g., shortest path, community detection, centrality, PageRank) to uncover hidden patterns and insights within our interconnected data. 
• Collaborate with data scientists to develop and integrate graph-based features for machine learning models and AI applications on the WPP Open platform. 
• Develop APIs and services to expose graph database functionalities and insights to downstream applications and internal tools. 

Ensure Performance, Scalability, and Maintainability 

• Monitor and optimize the performance of graph databases and Cypher queries to ensure efficient data access and processing at scale. 
• Contribute to the architectural design and scaling strategies for our graph database infrastructure. 
• Implement best practices for graph database management, including backup, recovery, and security. 
• Ensure the reliability and maintainability of graph solutions through proper documentation, testing, and version control. 

Collaborate, Educate, and Innovate 

• Serve as a subject matter expert on graph databases and Cypher, providing guidance and training to other engineering and data science teams. 
• Actively participate in architectural discussions, code reviews, and technical decision-making processes. 
• Research and evaluate new graph technologies, tools, and methodologies to continuously improve our capabilities and competitive edge. 

 Skills and Experience 

If this opportunity looks right for you, we are looking for candidates who have:  

• 2-5 years of professional experience in a role focused on graph databases, data engineering, or software engineering with significant exposure to graph technologies. 
• Proven expertise and hands-on experience with Cypher query language is essential. 
• Demonstrated experience with at least one major graph database platform (e.g., Neo4j, Graph API). 
• English fluency B2/C1 
• Strong understanding of graph data modeling principles and best practices for representing complex relationships. 
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python) for data integration, API development, and scripting. 
• Familiarity with common graph algorithms and their practical applications. 
• Experience working in a cloud environment (GCP preferred), including deploying and managing database services. 
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts and experience with data integration/ETL processes. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose performance issues and design efficient solutions. 
• Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. 
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
