Lead Data Engineer
Lead data engineers at Thoughtworks develop modern data architecture approaches to meet key business objectives and provide end-to-end data solutions. They might spend a few weeks with a new client on a deep technical review or a complete organizational review, helping them to understand the potential that data brings to solve their most pressing problems. On projects, they will be leading the design of technical solutions, or perhaps overseeing a program inception to build a new product. Alongside hands-on coding, they are leading the team to implement the solution.
Job responsibilities
- You will lead and manage data engineering projects from inception to completion, including goal-setting, scope definition and ensuring on-time delivery with cross team collaboration.

- You write clean and iterative code based on TDD and leverage various continuous delivery practices to deploy, support and operate data pipelines.
- You will lead and advise clients on how to use different distributed storage and computing technologies from the plethora of options available.
- You will develop data models by selecting from a variety of modeling techniques and implementing the chosen data model using the appropriate technology stack.
- You will be responsible for data governance, data security and data privacy to support business and compliance requirements.
- You will define the strategy for and incorporate data quality into your day-to-day work.

- You have experience with databricks
- Working with data excites you; You have created Big Data architecture, can build and operate data pipelines, and maintain data storage, all within distributed systems.
- You have a deep understanding of Gen/AI and LLMs
- You have experience in writing clean, high-quality code using the preferred programming language.
- You have built and deployed large-scale data pipelines and data-centric applications using any of the distributed storage platforms and distributed processing platforms in a production setting.
- You have experience with data visualization techniques and can communicate the insights as per the audience.
- You have experience with data-driven approaches and can apply data security and privacy strategy to solve business problems.
- You have experience with different types of databases (i.e.: SQL, NoSQL, data lake, data schemas, etc.).
- Advanced English is required

We’re expanding our data engineering capabilities across Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, and Peru, and we’re hiring a Senior Clinical Data Engineer to help build the foundation of this new regional function. Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:
Data Standardization & Mapping: Spearhead the development of enterprise-level data mapping strategies that transform raw clinical data into standardized formats for high-impact analytics. Data Quality Assurance: Design and implement robust, scalable validation frameworks that proactively detect and resolve systemic data issues. Serve as a strategic partner to Clinical Data Managers and cross-functional teams, driving continuous improvement in data integrity across global trials
Programming & Scripting: Architect and maintain advanced, modular codebases using Python, R, SQL, and SAS to support complex data engineering workflows. Example use cases includes edit checks, reconciliations, exception listings, programmed protocol deviations, resource projections based on site data entry volume
Regulatory Compliance & Documentation: Lead compliance initiatives to ensure all data systems and workflows meet GCP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and evolving global regulatory requirements. Define documentation protocols and oversee audit trail governance to support inspection readiness and transparency.
Reporting & Visualization - Develop and operationalize dynamic dashboards and analytics tools that provide real-time insights into data quality, trial progress, and operational KPIs. Translate complex datasets into actionable intelligence for clinical and regulatory stakeholders.

¿Cómo nos ayudarás a cumplir con nuestra misión?
- Registrar, analizar y controlar las transacciones financieras de la compañía en el sistema contable, asegurando información confiable y oportuna para la toma de decisiones.
- Realizar la conciliación de cuentas de balance y sus respectivos anexos, identificando y resolviendo desviaciones de manera proactiva.
- Analizar las cuentas de balance para garantizar la exactitud, integridad y consistencia de los registros financieros y tributarios, tanto mensuales como anuales, asegurando el cierre contable correcto.
- Asegurar el cumplimiento oportuno de las obligaciones fiscales y regulatorias, manteniendo la información actualizada y alineada a la normativa vigente.
- Elaborar y analizar reportes tributarios y regulatorios, brindando soporte a auditorías internas y externas.
- Ejecutar y dar seguimiento a procesos operativos financieros clave, tales como facturación, pagos a proveedores, cobranzas, proyecciones financieras, entre otros, contribuyendo a la eficiencia y escalabilidad del área.
- Experiencia comprobada ejecutando iniciativas de mejora continua y optimización de procesos, con enfoque en eficiencia, estandarización y escalabilidad; implementación de automatizaciones (Excel avanzado, Pyhton, VBA, Apps Script, SQL o BI) que reduzcan tareas manuales, mejoren la trazabilidad y aseguren consistencia en cierres y reportes financieros.
Lo que estamos buscando:
- Profesional titulado en Contabilidad (colegiatura deseable)
- Experiencia mínima de 3 años en posiciones similares
- Manejo informático mínimas: Excel / Google Sheets avanzado / Reporting contable/ SQL intermedio / Manejo de data (con prueba en entrevista)
- Técnicas deseables: Automatización (VBA / Apps Script) / BI (Power BI / Looker)
- Nivel de inglés intermedio (deseable)
- Perfil analítico, organizado y orientado al detalle
- Capacidad para manejar varias tareas en simultáneo y cumplir plazos
- Buenas habilidades de comunicación y trabajo en equipo
- Disposición para aprender, recibir feedback y adaptarse a contextos de cambio
