The Careem Data Science team’s mission is to drive competitive value from data at scale through building AI models to optimize user experiences, decision making, operational efficiencies, and lead the region’s AI ecosystem. As one of the leaders in this team, you will be at the forefront of fulfilling this mission. You will be working with and leading the top data science talent of the region, leveraging AI to solve the region’s day-to-day problems, through state-of-the-art machine learning, optimization, deep learning, and RL models, that are deployed on top of our own in-house AI platform, serving users in real-time.

What you'll do

• Build a long-term vision on how we can rethink our customer acquisition and engagement strategies, leveraging data in our decision making.
• Drive exploratory analysis to understand the ecosystem, user behavior, identify new levers to help move metrics, and build models of user behaviors for analysis and product enhancements.
• Shape and influence data/ML models and instrumentation to optimize the product experience and generate insights on new areas of opportunity and new products.
• Provide product leadership by sharing data-based recommendations to communicate state of business, root cause of change in metrics, and experimentation results influencing product and business decisions
• Implement scalable machine learning algorithms that will be used in production on big data.
• Embark on exploratory data analysis projects to achievea  better understanding of phenomena as well as to discover untapped areas of growth and optimization. 
• Answer complex analytic questions from big data sets to help Careem shape its products and services in a better way.
• Help define and track the appropriate key metrics for specific projects. 
• Design and run randomized controlled experiments, analyze the resulting data, and communicate results with other teams.
• You will always challenge the status quo and continually investigate new data processing technologies and seek to ensure that we follow the industry best practices.

What you'll need

• Experience in data mining, predictive modeling, time series analysis, machine learning, Big Data methodologies, transformation and cleaning of both structured and unstructured data.
• Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline such as Physics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or Computer Science.
• Strong problem solving and coding skills.
• Solid knowledge of and experience with marketplace problems in ride hailing and delivery services. 
• Solid knowledge of AB testing, classic ML and DL
• Solid understanding of recommendations, learning to rank, uplift modeling and matching problems. 
• Fluency in English along with excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency and demonstrated experience in: Python, SQL, Spark, Hive.
• Demonstrated experience with database technologies (e.g. Hadoop, BigQuery, Amazon EMR, Hive, Oracle, SAP, DB2, Teradata, MS SQL Server, MySQL).
• Demonstrated experience with business intelligence and visualization tools (Tableau, MicroStrategy, ChartIO, Qlik) along with geospatial data processing skills is a plus.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies.

At Careem, the mission for the NextGen Programme is to help grow our engineers by learning how to write Clean Code, use SOLID principle techniques, and design reliable systems. The ultimate goal is to train new engineers to build excellent foundations with high standards. Our Programme covers vast areas in engineering:  Backend, Frontend, Web, Mobile, Data Analysis, MLOps, Infrastructure, Cyber Security and QA.

Part of Careem NextGen Team, the mission of the program is to train the new Analysts to build Analytical excellence foundations with high standards.You will have access to some of the most exciting projects and advanced tech for accelerated learning and exposure, leveraging modern analysis and visualization tools to solve the region’s day to day problems.

The Careem Analytics team’s mission is to build and track the full lively picture for Careem businesses and experiences, uphold the experience bar, provide actionable insights, formulate problems and contribute to solving them. 

Responsibilities:

• Act as the first point of contact to answer all business data queries
• Develop effective reporting solutions by utilizing engineering best practices and various reporting tools
• Participate in continuous improvement of these reporting solutions
•  Ability to quickly understand business requirements and questions and find innovative ways to answer those through data analysis
• Drive and support your designated business unit by converting complex data and findings into understandable tables, graphs, and written reports 
• Present appropriate analysis and commentary to technical and non-technical audience 
• Gain subject matter expertise and help define appropriate key metrics for the business unit and discover untapped areas for business improvement 
• Run regular data integrity audits 
• Devise and evaluate methods for collecting data, such as surveys, questionnaires, and opinion polls 
• Gather data about consumers, competitors, and market conditions

Qualifications:

• 2-4 years of demonstrated experience working in an analytical role 
• 1+ years of demonstrated experience with business intelligence and visualization tools creating management dashboards 
• Strong analytical skills with expertise in SQL and large datasets 
• Passion for learning new technologies and working on large-scale, impactful products.
• Expert at writing SQL queries against large amounts of data 
• Self-starter with excellent communication, organizational skills, and the ability to work in complex operational environments.   
• Ability to get hands-on in a complex operational environment 
• Must be process oriented and a logical thinker with good attention to detail 
• Experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, MicroStrategy, Looker) for dashboards 
• Knowledge of Python, R, Spark, Hive, and data lakes (preferred)

Role Overview:
Vectara is seeking a Senior Platform Software Engineer with strong experience in modern DevOps practices and backend development. In this role, you’ll work on developing IaaC and Helm charts for deploying and managing the core infrastructure that powers our retrieval-augmented generation and agentic AI platform, as well as design and development of features in the platform. The design and deployment of the platform requires high availability, scalability, and automation. You will be part of our oncall rotation for addressing customer tickets. The role also requires basic platform and application development skills. 

You will work as an integral part of our Forward Deployed Engineering function, working with our Field Engineering team to assist with building and supporting everything from POCs to production applications used by millions of people. In doing this you will contribute to the delivery of customer satisfaction and sales outcomes for our business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Proficiency in AI-assisted coding; able to do multiple tasks at once and manage AI agents to quickly execute. 
• Drive infrastructure automation, CI/CD, and monitoring/alerting pipelines.
• Collaborate with Field Engineering teams to support PoCs, and Platform deployments in customer Cloud VPCs and on-prem. 
• Deploy, scale, and optimize ML/NLP workloads, especially model inference.
• Lead initiatives to improve system reliability, scalability, and developer experience.
• Contribute to architecture and infrastructure decisions as we scale our platform.
• Champion best practices in code quality, testing, and DevOps culture across the team.
• Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure backend services and platform components.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer with a focus on backend systems and platform engineering.
• At least 2 years of devops experience.
• At least 2 years of development experience.
• Deep experience with all computing environments (GCP, AWS, Onprem, or Azure).
• Strong understanding of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, etc.).

• Experience working on ML platforms or supporting ML workloads in production.
• Familiarity with data infrastructure (e.g., Kafka, Spark, Airflow).
• Proficiency in languages like Go, Python, or Java; experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Pulumi, etc.).
• Experience with providing technical support of custom-developed systems to customers.

As a Sales Data Engineering Manager you will be part of the core data team building out world class sales data products that will drive Motive Sales.  You will be working on the intersection of all data streams in the company and support our reps globally.  You will partner closely with both the Sales, Product, & Marketing teams. Architect and design data models in collaboration with data and product teams.

Communicate effectively and drive strategy across multiple teams and projects.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field, e.g. Computer Science, Math, Economics, or Statistics
• Knowledge of Sales Cycles and B2B Sales
• 10+ years experience in Data Engineering, and 3+ years managing a team
• Expertise with data engineering stack, dBt, Snowflake, airflow, data observability tools, AWS, pyspark.
• Expertise in SQL and Python
• Great planning and roadmapping skills
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and people skills
