What You’ll Do

• Owning major features and working closely with our design team - take ownership of features inside the app and become responsible of delivering high quality features

We're looking to hire for our Data side of our AI team at Speechify. This role is responsible for all aspects of data collection to support our model training operations. We are able to build high-quality datasets at petabyte-scale and low cost through a tight integration of infrastructure, engineering, and research work. We are looking for a skilled Software Engineer to join us.

What You’ll Do

• Be scrappy to find new sources of audio data and bring it into our ingestion pipeline
• Operate and extend the cloud infrastructure for our ingestion pipeline, currently running on GCP and managed with Terraform.
• Collaborate closely with our Scientists to shift the cost/throughput/quality frontier, delivering richer data at bigger scale and lower cost to power our next-generation models.
• Collaborate with others on the AI Team and Speechify Leadership to craft the AI Team’s dataset roadmap to power Speechify’s next-generation consumer and enterprise products.

An Ideal Candidate Should Have

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of industry experience in software development.
• Proficiency with bash/Python scripting in Linux environments
• Proficiency in Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts and professional experience with at least one major Cloud Provider (we use GCP)
• Experience with web crawlers, large-scale data processing workflows is a plus
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Overview

With the growth of our iOS app, being the #18 productivity app in the App Store category and also our recent recognition as Apple's 2025 Design Award for inclusivity, we find the need for a Senior iOS Engineer to help us support the new user base as well as work on new and exciting projects to push our missing forward.   

This is a key role and ideal for someone who thinks strategically, enjoys fast-paced environments, passionate about making product decisions, and has experience building great user experiences that delight users.

What you'll do

• Design and build advanced, scalable applications in Swift.

What you'll need

• Strong understanding of interactive application development paradigm under iOS, memory management, file I/O, network programming, concurrency and multithreading, and publishing iOS apps in the Appstore.
• Reactive programming (RxSwift/Combine) is necessary.
• Excellent debugging skills.
• Experience working with remote teams in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high-quality software.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal, formal and informal).

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines similar to Bitrise.
• Experience with SwiftUI and structured concurrency.
• Working knowledge of developing scalable SDKs and libraries.
• Experience applying professional software engineering best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.

The ultimate goal is to train new engineers to build excellent foundations with high standards. What you’ll get to do

• Design and Build sophisticated and highly scalable apps using Flutter.

To succeed in this role, you should have

• 5 years plus combined Mobile Development Experience
• Flutter: To build cross platform mobile apps for Android, IOS and Web. This should include from making responsive UIs to efficiently query data and also manage states in an optimized manner.
  
• Native Android (Kotlin preferably) and IOS: To build custom Flutter Packages.
  
• Firebase: Should have experience with Cloud Firestore, Push Notifications, Cloud Functions and Analytics.
  
• Figma: Should know how to use Figma to analyse and view the designs to build the app
  
• Git: To manage and collaborate in different projects with the rest of the team.
  
• Ability to provide a portfolio showing projects solely worked on upon request
