About the team
The Design team at Careem crafts user experiences that are simple, intuitive, and delightful. As part of our interdisciplinary group of designers, researchers, writers, and brand experts, you will play a crucial role in shaping how millions of users across the region engage with the Careem app. The team is now building an in-house content marketing team to support copy needs across all verticals, reducing reliance on external vendors and Studio X.
About the role
We are looking for a talented and versatile Senior Copywriter (English) to join our Product Design team. You will play a key role in shaping and delivering content across marketing and product surfaces—including push notes, CRM campaigns, and in-app banners. You will also help refine Careem’s tone of voice across digital experiences and campaigns.
What you'll do:
- Write persuasive, concise, and brand-aligned copy for marketing and product use cases
- Collaborate with designers, PMs, marketers, and engineers to deliver cohesive content experiences
- Lead efforts in copy reviews, content QA, and refinement for product and campaign rollouts
- Contribute to building scalable content systems and guidelines
- Adapt content rapidly to shifting business needs across verticals like Q-commerce, ride-hailing, and food
What we're looking for:
- 2–4 years of experience in UX writing or digital copywriting, ideally with e-commerce or Q-commerce apps
- Mastery of English grammar, tone, and brevity
- Portfolio showcasing product-facing content, especially app interfaces and CRM work
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments with rapid turnaround needs
- Experience with CRM platforms, push notifications, and banner content
- Nice-to-have: Familiarity with Figma or design collaboration tools

About the role
Location: Remote (Full time)
What you’ll get to do
- Design and Build sophisticated and highly scalable apps using Flutter.
- Build custom packages in Flutter using the functionalities and APIs already available in native Android and IOS.
- Translate and Build the designs and Wireframes into hight quality responsive UI code.
- Write efficient queries for core Data.
- Use of Model-View-Controller ( MVC) and Model-View-ViewModel-Controller (MVVM) as it relates to designing, developing architecture and developing maintainable, testable and functional software that meets product requirements.
- Explore feasible architectures for implementing new features.
- Resolve any problems existing in the system and suggest and add new features in the complete system.
- Suggest space and time efficient Data Structures.
- Follow the best practices while developing the app and also keeping everything structured and well documented.
- Use CI/CD for smooth deployment.
- Document the project and code efficiently.
- Manage the code and project on Git in order to keep in sync with other team members and managers.
- Communicate with the Project Manager regarding status of projects and suggest appropriate deadlines for new functionalities.
- Ensure security guidelines are always followed while developing the app.
- Validate the cloud system to ensure any new changes do not compromise security of the backend server.
- Suggest new features and/or enhancements.
- Maintaining software through product lifecycle including design, development, verification and bug fixes.
- Connect regularly with the Quality Assurance Specialist to deliver stable app.
- Resolve all the bugs reported by the Quality Assurance Specialist in a timely manner.
- Perform time profiling and memory leaks assessment.
- Execute app verification protocol.
- Write tests for the App.
- Following company policies and quality procedures to ensure quality product deliverables.
To succeed in this role, you should have
- 5 years plus combined Mobile Development Experience
- Flutter: To build cross platform mobile apps for Android, IOS and Web. This should include from making responsive UIs to efficiently query data and also manage states in an optimized manner.
- Native Android (Kotlin preferably) and IOS: To build custom Flutter Packages.
- Firebase: Should have experience with Cloud Firestore, Push Notifications, Cloud Functions and Analytics.
- Figma: Should know how to use Figma to analyse and view the designs to build the app
- Git: To manage and collaborate in different projects with the rest of the team.
- Ability to provide a portfolio showing projects solely worked on upon request
- Bachelors Degree in a related field
