Safety Coordinator, ND

Join Safety Worxs in Fargo, ND as a Safety Coordinator in this dynamic P3 flood management project. The work currently focused on the construction of the aqueduct and channels work. If you have 3-5 years experience, enjoy boots-on-the-ground safety leadership, open to team collaboration, passionate about creating a safer workplace and making a real impact, this is the opportunity for you.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Administer compliance with the safety program and lead accident prevention efforts to ensure company and project safety goals are met.
- Conduct site inspections of project work areas and equipment.
- Develop, organize, and implement safety related programs that meet company safety standards.
- Assisting in the investigation of accidents and determining root causes and recommend corrective /preventive measures.
- Perform and document jobsite inspections and audits with a focus on hazard recognition and unsafe behaviors.
- Coordinate and conduct safety meetings/training programs to ensure effective communication amongst new and existing employees.
- Participate in regulatory agency inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Carry out any other assigned tasks given by the Area Safety Manager or Area Project Manager.
Qualifications:
- Spanish/English Bilingual (highly preferred)
- 3-5 years' safety experience in heavy civil construction
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite for reporting
- Must be able to stand, walk, and climb multiple flights of stairs.
- Outside role, working rotating Days and Night shifts.
Preferred:
- 5+ years’ safety experience in heavy construction (marine works, tunnel, or roadway)
- OSHA 500 Hour Construction Safety Trained
- CSHO - Certified Safety and Health Official
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in Safety Training and Incident Investigation
- Team player with a professional image, capable of handling highly confidential information
- Exercise excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

As a Division Manager, you'll report to the Area Manager and oversee Project Managers, Engineers, Surveyors, and support staff within the Public Works Division. This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed engineer who thrives in team leadership, business development, and delivering technical excellence.

Division Leadership & Strategic Responsibilities
- Set strategic direction for the public works division, aligned with company goals.
- Lead division level planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking.
- Drive division-level quality, risk management, and safety compliance.
- Develop staff through mentoring, hiring, and company performance management programs.
- Represent Civil Science in municipal, regional, and state forums and industry organizations.
Business Development Responsibilities
- Lead business development efforts for the ND public works market, including identifying new clients, pursuing strategic opportunities, and overseeing proposal development.
- Monitor municipal funding cycles and position the Division for upcoming opportunities.
- Cultivate long-term relationships with agencies, councils, and community partners.
Required Qualifications
- North Dakota PE
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- 12+ years of experience with strong technical background in public works and civil infrastructure projects specifically involving water, sewer, storm sewer and land development.
- Proven ability to develop and sustain revenue-generating client relationships in the North Dakota public works market.
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- Ability to travel and meet client needs throughout North Dakota and potentially in surrounding states.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to work on active construction sites, which may include uneven terrain, exposure to varying weather conditions, and moderate to high noise levels.

Civil Science is seeking a highly experienced and driven Survey Division Manager to lead and expand our survey program across North Dakota. This is a pivotal leadership opportunity for a licensed surveyor who thrives at the intersection of strategy, client engagement, and team development.
You’ll step into a visible, high-impact role with the ability to shape the direction of our survey practice in a growing market. From guiding division strategy and overseeing project delivery to building strong relationships with public agencies and identifying new opportunities, you’ll play a critical role in both stabilizing and scaling our presence across the region.

What You’ll Get to Do:
- Leadership & Strategic Responsibilities
- Set strategic direction for the survey division that is aligned with company goals.
- Lead division level planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking.
- Drive division-level quality, risk management, and safety compliance.
- Develop staff through mentoring, hiring, and company performance management programs.
- Represent Civil Science in municipal, regional, and state forums and industry organizations
- Business Development Responsibilities
- Lead business development efforts for the ND survey market, including identifying new clients, pursuing strategic opportunities, and overseeing proposal development.
- Monitor funding cycles and position the Division for upcoming opportunities.
- Cultivate long-term relationships with agencies, councils, and community partners.
What Qualifications You’ll Need:
- North Dakota Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license preferred but not mandatory
- 12+ years of surveying experience with strong technical depth.
- Proven ability to develop and sustain revenue-generating client relationships in the North Dakota surveying market.
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- Ability to travel and meet client needs throughout North Dakota and potentially in surrounding states.
- Proven experience overseeing and managing multi-project delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, think critically, and support multiple departments simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of project management: budgeting, scheduling, quality control, resource planning.
- Excellent communication, mentoring, and team development skills.
- Demonstrated ability to implement and uphold quality management processes.
- Ability to balance technical work with operational and strategic responsibilities.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Must be able to work on active construction sites—including uneven terrain, varying weather conditions, and moderate-to-high noise levels.
- Frequent physical activities include standing, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
