The Studio Manager oversees all aspects of the Studio, leading a high-performing team and ensuring a best-in-class experience for every Studs customer. You’ll manage both the retail and piercing operations of the Studio, driving revenue growth, operational excellence, and a strong team culture.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is passionate about delivering results through people — setting clear expectations, coaching performance, and cultivating an environment where customers and team members alike thrive. You’ll be responsible for all aspects of studio performance, from customer experience and compliance to scheduling and staffing, and you’ll be the primary point of accountability for the Studio’s success.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Excellence & Revenue

• Owns the Studio’s overall performance, driving revenue growth and achieving sales plans
• Reviews and analyzes business reporting to identify opportunities and adjust strategies
• Delegates and oversees divisions of responsibility within the management team; follows up consistently to ensure execution
• Owns scheduling within labor allocations and ensures payroll accuracy through regular audits
• Maintains high operational standards, ensuring compliance with piercing procedures, health and safety protocols, and inventory control practices
• Partners with Piercing Leadership to uphold technical standards, training, and best practices for Piercers in the Studio

Customer Experience

• Welcomes and educates customers on the unique Studs experience, delivering exceptional service every time
• Leads by example in service recovery best practices and ensures feedback loops are built into daily operations
• Monitors Studio reviews and customer feedback, identifying and escalating trends to drive continuous improvement

Leadership & Team Development

• Builds, develops, and leads a service-driven team including an Assistant Studio Manager, Studio Supervisors, Sales Associates, and Piercers, partnering closely with Piercing Leadership to uphold technical standards and best practices
• Coaches and provides ongoing feedback to team members, driving professional growth and accountability
• Creates a strong sense of belonging, collaboration, and trust across the Studio
• Navigates employee relations thoughtfully and in partnership with cross-functional teams
• Leads change management initiatives and helps the team adapt effectively to evolving priorities

Requirements:

• 2+ years of management experience (e.g., Store Manager, General Manager, Studio Manager) in a customer-facing environment; experience with jewelry, piercing, or retail services a plus
• Proven success leading a team of 7+ employees, including specialized skill roles
• Must work on-site five days per week at minimum (40 hours) and maintain open availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays (no overnights)
• Weekend availability (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) is required, excluding approved PTO
• Scheduled days off typically fall on Wednesdays and Thursdays but may vary based on business needs
• Schedules may vary and full-time roles are expected to prioritize Studs as the primary employment commitment
• Comfortable standing for extended periods (up to 8+ hours) and able to lift/move at least 20 lbs
• Able to handle chemicals safely and follow all relevant health and safety protocols
• Strong operational and financial acumen with a track record of achieving business goals

About the role:

Audio Visual Technicians II at The Lighthouse are skilled problem solvers who are passionate about content creation.  In this role you will report to the Production Manager and be responsible for the setup, operation, and presentation of all AV elements found throughout The Lighthouse campus. This will include private events, large scale brand partnerships, and day to day upkeep of environmental AV elements as well. You will interact directly with members to troubleshoot technical complications and educate them on how to use the resources available in the studios and around campus. Successful candidates will also exhibit excellent interpersonal skills and an affection for helping others.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

• Maintain and operate audio, video, and lighting equipment in all production studios within The Lighthouse.
• Setup and breakdown of AV elements used to produce high quality private and large scale brand partnership events.
• Ensure technology systems are operational, minimizing downtime for members and staff.
• Lead the charge in cleaning and resetting studios between bookings, ensuring spaces are consistently tour ready, campus support to assist as needed.
• Support team leads by assisting in the training and onboarding of new hires and fellow team members.
• Resolve technical issues for members and their guests with a hospitality first approach, delivering a seamless experience.
• Conduct regular maintenance checks and repairs on AV equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

• A degree in a related field is a plus, but not required. 
• A minimum of 2 years experience in audio-visual technology, preferably in an event space, podcast, film/tv, or theater setting.
• Solid understanding, or willingness to learn, of audio systems, consoles, lighting systems, projectors, and related software.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a creative environment.
• Excellent communication.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Applied AI/ML Scientist with a specialization in deep learning and generative models to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the architecture and implementation of our AI modeling efforts, with a specific focus on post-training and fine-tuning large language models.

While this role requires deep technical expertise, we value a collaborative environment where good ideas flourish regardless of title. You will work within a team that empowers engineers to own their stack end-to-end. The ideal candidate has strong AI/ML fundamentals and can bridge the gap between theoretical research and practical production systems. You should be comfortable working with Agentic LLM usage and modern fine-tuning approaches, ranging from Supervised Fine-Tuning to Knowledge Distillation to RL, to create robust, reliable enterprise solutions.

You will be an early engineer at a high-growth startup, playing a significant role in building and bringing a new generative AI product to market. We are looking for a systems-thinker who cares as much about model evaluation and production stability as they do about algorithmic innovation.

Responsibilities:

• Rigorous Evaluation (Evals): Architect, build, and maintain comprehensive evaluation pipelines. You believe that "you can't improve what you don't measure," and you will be responsible for creating evals that accurately reflect production performance and agentic reliability.
• Post-Training & Fine-Tuning: Apply expert knowledge of model alignment and post-training strategies to tailor our in-house LLMs for enterprise capabilities. You should be adept at selecting and implementing the right technique for the job. Whether that is Supervised Fine-Tuning (SFT), Knowledge Distillation, PEFT, or leveraging alignment methods like Reinforcement Learning from Verifiable Rewards (RLVR) when appropriate.
• Hands-on Data Engineering & Strategy: Go beyond just "using" data. You will be responsible for the end-to-end data lifecycle—sourcing, cleaning, curating, and modifying datasets to maximize model effectiveness and domain specificity.
• Training & Inference Optimization: Utilize and optimize the open-source LLM ecosystem for the full model lifecycle. You will leverage distributed training tools (e.g., Accelerate, DeepSpeed/FSDP) and high-throughput serving engines (e.g., vLLM, TensorRT-LLM) to ensure efficiency from training to production.
• End-to-End Ownership: Take a systems-level approach to AI. You will not just build models in isolation but will be responsible for the E2E lifecycle of the model, including how it integrates into production and interacts with the broader application.
• Collaboration & Mentorship: Work closely with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into technical AI solutions. While this is an individual contributor role, you will be expected to mentor junior members, review code, and contribute to a culture where technical ideas are debated openly and constructively.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: PhD or MS in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience: 3-5+ years of experience in AI/ML with a strong focus on deep learning, generative models, and LLMs.
• Effective AI Collaboration: You don't just "use" AI tools (e.g. Cursor, Claude Code, Devin, etc.); you know how to effectively partner with them to drive real efficiency. You know how to thoughtfully prompt, delegate, and iterate with these AI to achieve concrete productivity gains and genuinely accelerate your development process.
• Evaluation Expertise: Demonstrated experience designing metrics and building evaluation harnesses for non-deterministic models. You understand that robust evals are the cornerstone of successful AI products.
• Fine-Tuning Expertise: Deep understanding of the post-training landscape, with practical experience in techniques such as SFT, PEFT (LoRA/QLoRA), and Knowledge Distillation.
• Applied Frameworks: Proficiency with the modern open-source LLM ecosystem. Experience with distributed training (e.g., Accelerate, FSDP, DeepSpeed) and high-level modeling libraries.
• Strong Fundamentals: Deep conceptual understanding of the mathematical and architectural underpinnings of AI/ML (gradients, attention mechanisms, loss landscapes). While we don't code in raw TensorFlow/PyTorch daily, we value the first-principles understanding that comes with knowing these layers.
• Systems Engineering: Experience with software engineering best practices and an ability to write clean, production-ready code. You should be comfortable with the "Ops" side of MLOps.
• Problem Solving: Strong critical thinking skills with a pragmatic focus on shipping solutions that work for users, not just maximizing academic benchmarks.
• Location: Hybrid Onsite in Venice, CA (2 days a week).

Preferred Qualifications:

• LLM Production Experience: Practical experience deploying and maintaining LLMs in a production environment.
• Advanced Alignment: Familiarity with emerging alignment research (e.g., DPO, RLVR) and an ability to determine when these complex methods add value over simpler baselines.
• Agentic Concepts: Strong conceptual understanding of Agentic architectures (planning, tool use, ReAct loops, etc.). 
• Enterprise Context: Knowledge of enterprise security best practices and experience with Enterprise SaaS software.
• Research Impact: A track record of staying current with arXiv papers and successfully translating a research concept into a working feature.

What You’ll Do
As a Certified Personal Trainer, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one and couples' fitness coaching in clients' homes, apartment gyms, or outdoor locations.
