• Form successful relationships with customers throughout your assigned territory, providing technical and business value to Databricks customers in collaboration with Account Executives.

What you'll do

You'll help define and deliver the next generation of Stripe's Flink-first stream compute infrastructure—driving innovation to meet extremely high availability targets at global scale. Partnering with infrastructure engineers, adjacent platform teams, and the product orgs that depend on Flink every day, you'll set a long-term technical direction that scales with Stripe's growth while enabling reliable, efficient operations for years to come. You'll work on the hardest problems in operating Flink in production—state management, exactly-once processing, performance isolation, and automated recovery—so teams across Stripe can confidently build stateful stream processing applications on top of it.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate stream compute infrastructure with Apache Flink at the center, alongside technologies like Kafka, Temporal, and AWS services
• Partner with product and platform teams across Stripe to understand requirements, unblock Flink adoption, and improve how stream processing infrastructure is used end-to-end
• Define and implement operational best practices (e.g., shuffle sharding, cellular architecture, load shedding, automated state recovery) to improve resilience and reliability at scale
• Drive fleet-level automation and standardization ("pets" to "cattle") through self-service workflows, safer rollouts, and self-healing systems that reduce manual operations
• Lead initiatives that raise the bar on Flink availability and state durability (e.g., multi-region strategies, disaster recovery readiness, operational readiness reviews, incident learning)

• This is a Staff-level role - that typically means 10+ years of experience building, operating, and evolving large-scale production systems

The Department: Customer Support (Ledger Operations)

As a team within the Support group, the team is data driven and customer-centric. Team members work closely with data scientists, engineers, product managers, and corporate operational stakeholders to reconcile data. Projects range from the very urgent, short sprint to redesigning long-term solutions to improve scalability and automation. Ledger Operations primary goal is to ensure high quality, scalable data reconciliation with proactive monitoring and reducing delays for reactive corrections. This team is responsible for building the “next generation” of reconciliation tools to maintain and expand Gemini’s internal reconciliation processes. 

The Role: Senior Ledger Operations Engineer

This role is required to be in person twice a week at our New York City, NY office.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain API adapters for Gemini trade data
• Design and optimize data pipelines for ledger operations
• Automate ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes

Salary Range: The base salary range for this role is between $126,000 - $180,000 in the State of New York, the State of California and the State of Washington. About the role

Starburst Solution Architects are responsible for the successful customer adoption of our products. • Demonstrated ability to address customer needs and provide best practices
• Strong background in Big Data, AI, privacy, data governance, or information security
• Good troubleshooting abilities and a methodical approach
• Ability to describe complex technical concepts to diverse audiences: executives, business stakeholders, and technology practitioners
• Passion for demonstrating solutions and ability to provide technical input during the sales process
• Broad understanding of enterprise data architecture, privacy, and security technologies
• Ability to plan, execute and close out a Proof of Concept with minimal assistance and oversight
• Desire to share knowledge through excellent documentation creation and RFI/RFP responses
• Some prior experience with one or more of the following: RDBMS systems, no-SQL data stores (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB), Hadoop technologies (such HDFS, Hive, HBase), cloud technologies (AWS EMR, S3, DynamoDB, Redshift, Azure file and blob storage, etc.)
• Prior experience with Identity and Access Management or Data Loss Prevention tools is a plus
• Proficient in Linux and container framework (Docker and Kubernetes)
• Minimum of 3 years in a pre-sales or consulting role within a multinational environment
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline (master’s degree a plus)

The annual base salary range is $135,000 - $150,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies. Salary is just one component of our Compensation Philosophy. Variable/Bonus Compensation & Equity Incentives align with individual and company performance.
