Senior Manager, Government & Industry Affairs Operations

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Government & Industry Affairs team in the United States and are currently looking for a Senior Manager, Government & Industry Affairs Operations to join the team. 

This is a newly created role that will play an important part in helping VGW coordinate and execute its government affairs activity across the US. You will be responsible for bringing structure, discipline, and clear operating rhythm to a complex, multi state lobbying network, ensuring our external partners are well coordinated, accountable, and aligned to business priorities.

You will work closely with Government Affairs, Legal, Marketing, and external lobbying partners to ensure activity is well planned, compliant, and clearly tracked.

We’re open to candidates based anywhere in the US, and this role can be performed remotely. We do not currently have a US office, but occasional in person office attendance may be required if that changes in future.

The salary range  for this role is USD $200,000 - $230,000 per year.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing the day to day operations of VGW’s external lobbying contractors, ensuring activity is clearly understood, tracked, and delivered.
• Supporting compliance across VGW’s lobbying activity, including oversight of relevant registrations, disclosures, and state and federal requirements.
• Establishing a single source of truth for legislative tracking, reporting, and key activity across the lobbying network.
• Building dashboards, reporting frameworks, and quarterly operating reviews tied to clear KPIs for lobbying firms.
• Developing detailed execution plans and ensuring strong cross functional alignment across Government Affairs, Legal, Marketing, and other relevant teams.
• Driving accountability with external partners, including performance tracking, budget oversight, resource allocation, and renewal decisions.

What you will bring to the role:

• 8 plus years of experience in government affairs, public policy, lobbying operations, regulatory affairs, or a related field.
• Experience supporting lobbying or government affairs activity in fast moving, high growth, or highly regulated industries.
• Strong multi state coordination skills, with the ability to manage a complex network of external partners, priorities, and deadlines.
• A highly organised and operationally focused approach, with a track record of creating structure where it does not already exist.
• Strong vendor and contract management experience, including the ability to drive accountability and assess performance.
• The ability to read complex regulatory, legislative, or legal materials and translate the practical impact clearly for non technical audiences.
• Experience building tracking, documentation, reporting, or operating systems from scratch and ensuring they are adopted successfully.

Position Summary

Primary Responsibilities

• Build and sustain strong relationships with national and regional medical and scientific thought leaders, patient advocacy groups, and centers of excellence aligned to Acadia’s Medical Affairs strategy
• Engage key opinion leaders in meaningful scientific exchange, research discussions, and education on current and emerging therapies
• Support clinical research activities, including trial site engagement and cultivation and facilitation of investigator-initiated research proposals
• Develop and maintain deep scientific, clinical, and therapeutic expertise across Acadia’s portfolio
• Collaborate cross-functionally, in compliance with all guidelines, with Regional Business Leaders and Account Business Managers to support aligned field execution
• Provide strategic field insights that inform Medical Affairs and broader organizational decision-making
• Identify disease state insights and compound attributes that contribute to product differentiation and scientific value
• Deliver high-quality scientific, clinical, and educational support to internal stakeholders and external healthcare partners
• Represent Acadia at medical meetings, congresses, educational programs, and support Commercial activities including speaker and sales training
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education/Experience/Skills

• Advanced scientific degree (MD, PharmD, or PhD) in a relevant discipline
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with hands-on scientific or medical affairs responsibilities
• Prior Medical Science Liaison experience within a field-based medical affairs role
• Demonstrated scientific and clinical expertise, with experience in rare diseases, epilepsy, neurology, or psychiatry
• Strong working knowledge of regulatory, compliance, and clinical considerations impacting pharmaceutical and managed care environments
• Proven ability to communicate complex scientific and drug information to healthcare professionals and internal stakeholders
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to travel up to 75% of the time, with residence within the assigned territory

Position levels:

• Medical Science Liaison: $139,600 - $174,500 requires an advanced degree (MD, PharmD, PhD) in a scientific discipline, 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the medical, clinical, and/or pharmaceutical field
• Sr. Medical Science Liaison: $176,000 - $220,000 requires an advanced degree (MD, PharmD, PhD) in a scientific discipline, 7 years of progressively responsible experience in the medical, clinical, and/or pharmaceutical field, including 3 years as an MS

Physical Requirements

This role involves regular standing, walking, sitting, and the use of hands for handling or operating equipment. The employee may also need to reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and maintain visual, verbal, and auditory communication in a standard office environment and while working independently from remote locations. About the role

This position is ideal for a highly analytical finance professional who thrives at the intersection of infrastructure, energy, and capital markets. The Senior Associate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across the organization (commercial, technical and legal) to facilitate origination, structure contracts, optimize project economics, and execute complicated and multi-party capital financing transactions to support TNC’s execution.

Responsibilities

• Financial Modeling & Analysis
  • Build and maintain detailed project-level and portfolio financial models incorporating capital costs, operating assumptions, and financing terms.
  • Perform scenario and sensitivity analyses to evaluate key drivers of project economics and risk-return profiles.
  • Support valuation of structured financing transactions including sponsor equity, tax equity, project debt, and public-private partnerships.
• Transaction Support
  • Support the execution of complex project finance transactions, including due diligence, documentation review, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare investment materials, term sheets, and presentation decks for internal leadership, lenders, and investors.
  • Conduct market and comparable analysis to benchmark financing terms and support negotiation strategy.
• Strategic Collaboration
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Legal, Development, Engineering, and Government Affairs) to align financing structures with technical, regulatory, and policy objectives.
  • Closely coordinate with FP&A to assess impact of project-level economics in TNC’s corporate financial plan.
  • Support the development of project pipelines and capital deployment strategies aligned with company growth plans.
  • Interface with potential lenders, investors, and advisors to build strong external relationships and represent the company in financing discussions.
• Process & Systems Development
  • Contribute to building internal project finance processes, tools, and templates to support repeatable, scalable deal execution.
  • Help establish key performance metrics and reporting standards for project-level and portfolio-wide financial performance.

Required Experience

Mission-driven, with a passion for accelerating clean energy and infrastructure development.

• Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in project finance, investment banking, private equity, or corporate finance — ideally within energy, infrastructure, or industrial sectors.
• Skills & Competencies
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling of levered non-recourse projects.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complicated concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced startup environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with modeling tax equity partnership economics (including full capital account build-ups)
• Familiarity with government-backed financing mechanisms, tax incentives, or DOE/loan guarantee programs is a plus.

Estimated Starting Salary Range
The estimated starting salary range for this role is $118,000 - $140,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a bi-weekly basis. The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company’s discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure, skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.
