Over de functie

Platform Science is op zoek naar een Senior Software Engineer om mee te bouwen aan FleetHours+, ons next-generation platform voor urenregistratie en loonberekening binnen de Europese transport- en logistieksector. In deze rol overbrug je de kloof tussen functieaanvragen en logische technische oplossingen, waarbij je samen met onze Tech Lead complexe implementaties ontwerpt. Als senior lid van een toegewijd internationaal Scrum-team stuur je zowel backend- als frontend-ontwikkeling aan en zorg je ervoor dat het platform schaalbaar en krachtig blijft.

• Technisch Ontwerp: Vertaal complexe functionele vragen naar functionele/technische specificaties en modulaire componenten.

• Full-Stack Development: Besteed tot 50% van je tijd aan coderen, het implementeren van robuuste backend-services in C# en moderne frontend-modules in Angular.

• Architectuur & Samenwerking: Spar met de Tech Lead en Architect over nieuwe functies en technische implementaties; fungeer als hun vervanger bij afwezigheid.

• Teamleiderschap: Begeleid en coach junior developers, stel gedetailleerde Jira-tickets op en onderhoud duidelijke technische documentatie.

About the Role

Platform Science is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help build FleetHours+, our next-generation platform for hours registration and wage calculation within the European transport and logistics sector. In this role, you will bridge the gap between feature requests and logical technical solutions, architecting complex implementations alongside our Tech Lead. As a senior member of a dedicated international Scrum team, you will drive both backend and frontend development, ensuring the platform remains scalable and high-performing.

Essential Responsibilities

• Technical Design: Translate complex feature requests into functional/technical specifications and modular components.

• Full-Stack Development: Spend up to 50% of your time coding, implementing robust backend services in C# and modern frontend modules in Angular.

The position

You'll be joining a team of engineers across Frontend, Backend, SRE and QA. We're organised into cross-functional development teams assigned to specific verticals.

This role is open for several teams, and we will define the exact team that you will be joining during the interview process based on the business needs and your preferences.

Regardless of the specific team, you will be working on building tools, APIs and integrations for one of our products.

Our backend is built with Elixir and Phoenix, with a Postgres database. We use React and Nextjs for our front-end. Gitlab is used as a version control tool, issue tracker and a CI/CD solution. Our applications are hosted on AWS. We fully rely on our CI for deployments and deploy multiple times per day.

SQL Analytics Console: SQL Analytics is a new product that provides Databricks customers with a first-class experience for performing Business Intelligence (BI) and running SQL workloads directly on the data lake. Our team builds the "console" for SQL Analytics, where users configure, manage and monitor their SQL usage.

Jobs and Workflows: This team powers all asynchronous customer workloads for Databricks which is the majority of Databricks usage. As this usage has rapidly increased - we've rearchitected the system for increased stability and scalability. We are also building exciting new features for more advanced workflows and customer observability. This team has a mix of frontend, backend, and reliability engineering skills & projects.

Developer Ecosystem: The developer ecosystem team focuses on the development experience and best practices using tools outside of the workspace. We own and govern the core developer ecosystem open-source components: the SDK, the CLI, and Terraform.

Apps Developer Experience - This is the team that makes developing Apps on Databricks delightful and easy. We have built an SDK and services for app developers - AppKit. Our Codegen sub-team builds tools that enable agents to generate Apps that work first time. We're currently. working on an MCP server for Cursor/Claude Code and are working on Skills.

What we look for:

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Passion for user experience and design and a deep understanding of front-end architecture
• Comfortable working towards a multi-year vision with incremental deliverables
• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, VueJs/Ember)
• Strong familiarity with server-side web technologies (eg: Nodejs, Java, Python, Scala, C#, C++,Go, JVM)
• Good knowledge of SQL
• Experience with cloud technologies, e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes
• Experience in architecting, developing, deploying, and operating large scale distributed systems
