Medical Writer spielen eine zentrale Rolle in unserem Unternehmen. Sie tragen zur täglichen Projektabwicklung innerhalb eines Kunden-Accounts bei und erstellen eine Vielfalt von medizinischen Inhalten für verschiedene Therapiegebiete. Diese Position ist ideal für eine proaktive, kommunikationsstarke Person mit Leidenschaft für die Wissenschaft, großem Interesse an KI und einem ausgeprägten Blick fürs Detail, die ihre Karriere im medizinischen Schreiben vorantreiben möchte. Unsere Medical Writer in Deutschland unterstützen sowohl die Adaption globaler, englischsprachiger Inhalte, als auch die Erstellung von deutschsprachigen Inhalten.
Voraussetzungen und erforderliche Kenntinisse
Die idealen Vorraussetzungen:
- Sie verfügen über einen fundierten wissenschaftlichen Hintergrund mit einem Hochschulabschluss in einer naturwissenschaftlichen oder medizinischen Disziplin (Masterabschluss oder PhD bevorzugt - hervorragende akademische Leistungen werden erwartet)
- Sie bringen eine Leidenschaft für, sowie ein tiefes Verständnis von Gesundheitswesen, Wissenschaft, Medizin und der pharmazeutischen Industrie sowie ein starkes Interesse an KI-Technologien mit
- Sie sind kontaktfreudig, redegewandt und haben ein Auge fürs Detail
- Sie bringen Erfahrung als (Junior-) Medical Writer in einer Agentur oder einem Pharmaunternehmen mit
- Sie beherrschen die MS Office-Anwendungen (insbesondere PowerPoint) sicher und koennen komplexe wissenschaftliche Inhalte anschaulich darstellen
- Sie koennen an verschiedenen Veranstaltungen vor Ort teilnehmen und mit Kunden und Dozenten interagieren, um Inhalte zu entwickeln und zu finalisieren (Reisen innerhalb Deutschlands und Europas sind moeglich)
- Sie sind souveraen im Kundenkontakt und koennen für die Inhaltsentwicklung bei unkomplizierten Projekten eigenverantwortlich mit Kunden umgehen. In schwierigeren Faellen eskalieren Sie Anfragen an das Senior-Team
Wissenschaftliche Kenntnisse:
- Umfassendes Verständnis der zugewiesenen Therapiegebiete (z. B. Onkologie, seltene Erkrankungen, CRM)
- Effektive Analyse und Interpretation wissenschaftlicher Daten zur Bearbeitung vielfältiger Projekte
Kenntnisse im Bereich Strategie:
- Verständnis der medizinischen und kommerziellen Bereiche, in denen Kunden (z. B. Pharmaunternehmen) tätig sind
- Sichtung von Fachliteratur und Wettbewerbsinformationen zur kontinuierlichen Erweiterung des Marken-/Marktverständnisses und zur Analyse neuer Wettbewerber; Weitergabe der Erkenntnisse und ihrer Implikationen an die Teams
- Teilnahme an Meetings und strategischen Diskussionen mit Kunden, Autoren und Beratern
Sprachkenntnisse:
- Fließende Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse
- Drittsprachenkentnisse erwuenscht
KI Kenntnisse:
- Sicherer und effizienter Einsatz von KI-Tools zur Unterstützung der Aufgaben; Gewährleistung von Effizienz, Genauigkeit und ethischen Rahmenbedingungen
- Suche nach neuen Anwendungsmöglichkeiten für KI-Tools zur Optimierung des Arbeitsablaufs und des Aufgabenmanagements
Hauptaufgabenbereiche:
Redaktionelle Kompetenz:
- Sie passen Ihren Schreibstil an verschiedene Zielgruppen an (z. B. Haus- und Fachärzte, Pflegekräfte oder Patienten)
- Sie strukturieren und verfassen komplexe, kommerziell ausgerichtete Materialien wie Story-Flows/Strategy-Frameworks, Wettbewerbsanalysen, Berichte für Beiräte usw. mit wenig Anleitung
Projektverantwortung:
- Sie stellen eigenverantwortlich wissenschaftliche Inhalte bereit
- Sie stellen sicher, dass Kommunikationsziele in den zugewiesenen Projekten erreicht werden
Projektmanagement:
- Sie halten sich an Projektpläne und -briefings
- Sie kennen die wichtigsten Termine im Projektzeitplan und halten das Account-Team durch zeitnahe und präzise Kommunikation über den Projektstatus auf dem Laufenden
- Sie klären proaktiv, wie sich der Projektstatus im Verhältnis zu den verfügbaren/vereinbarten Stunden (Budget) entwickelt
- Sie beteiligen sich an der Nachverfolgung der Projektergebnisse und identifizieren die Auswirkungen von Änderungen, die ueber den Projektumfang hinaus gehen
- Sie halten die Projektbudgets ein oder liefern proaktiv nachvollziehbare Gründe für Abweichungen
Qualitätskontrolle:
- Sie stellen sicher, dass alle Arbeiten korrekt referenziert und mit einem vollständigen Referenzpaket versehen sind
- Sie stellen sicher, dass alle Arbeiten in Veeva Vault Project Management (VVPM) korrekt verankert und referenziert sind
- Sie halten sich strikt an den Verhaltenskodex der FSA und verfügen über fundierte Kenntnisse in diesem Bereich
- Sie kennen die Best Practices/Branchenrichtlinien und stellen unter Anleitung des Senior-Teams die Einhaltung dieser Richtlinien in der Projektarbeit sicher

Medical Writer - Germany
Our Medical Writers play a fundamental role in our business by contributing to day-to-day project delivery within an account to create outstanding medical content across a variety of therapy areas. This position is ideal for a proactive communicator with a passion for science, a keen interest in AI, and a keen eye for detail who is looking to develop their medical writing career further. Additionally, our Medical Writers in Germany will support both the adaptation of global, English-language content as well as the creation of original, German-language content.
Key Responsibilities
- Scientific knowledge:
- Has a good understanding of assigned therapeutic areas (e.g. oncology, rare diseases, CRM)
- Effectively analyses and interprets scientific data to work on a wide range of assigned projects
- Strategic knowledge:
- Understands the medical affairs and commercial spaces within which clients (e.g. pharma companies) work
- Reviews literature and competitive information to continually expand understanding of brand/marketplace and emerging competitors and shares findings and implications with teams
- Participates in meetings and strategic discussions with clients, authors, and advisors
- Language ability:
- Fluent in both German and English
- AI
- Confidently and efficiently uses AI tools to support assigned tasks, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in their work
- Seeks out new opportunities to apply AI tools to improve personal workflow and task management
- Project ownership:
- Takes responsibility for day-to-day delivery of scientific content under limited supervision
- Ensures communication objectives are met on assigned projects
- Editorial:
- Adapts writing style to suit different audiences (e.g. primary and secondary care physicians, nurses or patients)
- Structures and writes more commercially focused or complicated materials such as story flows/strategic frameworks, competitor intelligence, advisory board reports, etc. with limited supervision
- Quality control:
- Ensures all work is referenced appropriately and is provided with a full reference pack
- Ensures all work is tagged appropriately in Veeva Vault Project Management (VVPM) systems
- Is fully adherent to and shows a good working knowledge of the FSA code of conduct
- Demonstrates knowledge of good practice/industry guidelines and ensures project work is compliant with these with supervision from senior team
- On-site: May go on-site across a variety of events and interacting with clients and faculty to develop and finalise content
- Client liaison: Has begun to have client contact for content development on straight-forward projects and escalates queries in more challenging scenarios
- Project management
- Adheres to project schedules and briefs
- Understands key dates in project timelines and keeps the account team apprised of status on projects by providing timely and accurate communication
- Proactively clarifies how a project status is tracking versus the number of hours available
- Participates in the tracking of project deliverables, identifying impact of out-of-scope changes
- Adheres to project budgets, or proactively provides appropriate reasons not to
Qualifications and skills
- You should bring a strong scientific background with a degree in a scientific or medical discipline (post-graduate degree preferred). A high level of academic achievement is expected
- A passion for, and profound understanding of, healthcare, science, medicine, and the pharmaceutical industry is essential, as well as a keen interest in AI technologies
- You’ll need to be personable, articulate, and have an eye for detail
- You should bring previous experience as a (junior) medical writer at an agency or within a pharmaceutical organisation
- You should be well-versed in using MS Office applications (esp. PPT) and can break down complex scientific information into easy-to-understand and visually engaging content
