ABOUT THE JOB
Anduril – Rocket Motor Systems is seeking a Lead Scientist to join our organization. The Rocket Motor Systems business line designs, develops, and manufactures next-generation solid rocket motors for defense and space applications. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with numerous types of energetic materials and demonstrated expertise in one area of solid composite propellant manufacture and formulation. This role requires considerable knowledge of energetic materials chemistry, significant experience in rocket motor manufacturing, and demonstrated effectiveness as the principal investigator on internal research and development efforts.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Execute production rocket motor contracts as the program propellant chemist.
- Act as the principal investigator on at least one internal research and development effort.
- Provide technical guidance on explosives chemistry and manufacturing.
- Maintain databases and analyze technical data to ensure specification and regulatory compliance.
- Support implementation of innovative techniques and technologies.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field plus two years of experience; or a master’s degree plus four years of experience; or a bachelor’s degree plus six years of experience.
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience within the aerospace/defense industry, preferably in solid rocket motor production.
- Demonstrated expertise in some area of rocket motor manufacture, e.g., composite propellants, energetic materials, case/nozzle/insulation design, solid rocket motor manufacturing.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
- Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. Secret Security Clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Ph.D. or M.S. in Chemistry with a concentration in energetic materials, polymer chemistry, or reactive materials.
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience within the aerospace/defense industry, preferably in solid rocket motor production.
- Demonstrated experience formulating propellants at laboratory or production size.
- Active DOD Secret or Top-Secret security clearance.
- At least one publication or presentation within the defense industry in a relevant journal or at a relevant conference.

ABOUT THE JOB
We are looking to bring on a Electrical Test Engineer to design and deliver test systems for Anduril’s electronic products. This person will work with the test of the organization to identify gaps in test coverage and own the design and delivery of the hardware and software test solution.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Work on a Electrical Test Engineering team that owns/defines for new products and new features, in collaboration with firmware, software, and hardware design teams
- Determine test strategies that optimize product safety, product reliability, risk mitigation, FMEA coverage, and schedule
- Design and execution of PCBA and electrical system components with hands on testing and rework as necessary
- Data analysis and clear communication of results and collaboration with design engineers to resolve any product problems found via test
- Design and implement next generation test automation hardware systems to facilitate fast and repeatable testing of product
- Manage purchasing, build, integration and final commissioning of functional testers
- Develop test procedures and test automation from component level to system level
- Support board bring-up and bench validation as needed
- Support Design Engineer with DFT, provide feedback from test results to improve quality and test coverage
- Support manufacture test bring-up and yield
- Support quality field failure analysis
- Familiarity with measurement analysis techniques such as Gage RR and Process Capability Analysis
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineer or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience designing functional test equipment and PCBAs
- Experience in Schematic Capture and PCBA layout.
- Knowledge of scripting language to develop automation. Python, Matlab, PERL or SHELL. (Experience in LabVIEW is a value, but less required)
- Instrument control using VISA and SCPI
- Understanding of peripherals and developing test and validation strategies
- Experience with computer hardware communication bus protocols: USB, I2C, I2S, CSI, Ethernet, SPI, PCIe, HDMI, CAN, etc
- Understanding of memory hierarchy and developing test and validation strategy
- Understanding of Product Release Cycle from prototype to production and key deliverables of each phase
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team to support product development from prototype to production
- Experience with hands-on electrical engineering work
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- NI TestStand experience
- Understanding both hardware and software integration and test process
- Advance proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and VISIO
- Understanding of lab safety protocols when working in all types of lab environment

ABOUT THE JOB
Anduril – Rocket Motor Systems is seeking a Formulations Manager to join our organization. The Rocket Motor Systems group designs, develops, and manufactures next-generation solid rocket motors for defense and space applications at Anduril. The ideal candidate has both experience with energetic materials and solid composite propellant manufacture and formulation and previous technical functional management experience. This role requires in-depth knowledge of propellant chemistry/processing, robust experience in rocket motor testing, and the ability to lead and mentor a team of formulators.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Lead a team of 3-5 formulators in executing production, development, and research propellant programs and projects.
- Maintain compliance of acceptable explosive sensitivity limits for safe scaleup and manufacture of multiple solid propellant formulations.
- Manage group budget and properly allocate resources to ensure the success of critical contracts and efforts.
- Regularly create new processes and procedures from scratch and implement them across a rapidly-growing business line.
- Act in an approval role for business-critical functions such as:
- statement of work accuracy.
- energetic operations safety board.
- material acceptance, compatibility, and sensitivity.
- capital expenses including new buildings/facilities, new equipment, and new chemical instrumentation.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.

The Rocket Motor Systems team is designing and commissioning automated equipment for high rate production of Solid Rocket Motors at our plant in McHenry, MS. In this role, you will design, commission, and upgrade control systems for Solid Rocket Motor production equipment.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Design, commission, and upgrade control systems for Solid Rocket Motor production equipment
- Architect, write, and debug Siemens PLC code with an emphasis on generating code that is organized, structured, documented, maintainable, and reusable for high-volume manufacturing applications
- Generate and enforce internal standards for control systems architectures, regulatory compliance, and safety buyoffs
- Integrate internal and external FactoryOS software into automation equipment and production lines
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for automation failures, ensuring rapid resolution and long-term reliability
- Install, configure, and tune servo drives / VFDs
- Partner with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot equipment issues, reduce downtime, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering
- 12+ years of experience in controls and automation in a production environment
- Expert in Siemens PLC programming (Ladder and Structured Text)
- Proficient in servo drive and VFD configuration, PID tuning, STO/SS, etc.
- Strong knowledge of ethernet based communication protocols (ProfiNET, ProfiSAFE, Ethernet IP.)
- Proficient with electrical component selection and a solid foundation of wire sizing, circuit protection, and heat management in control cabinets.
- Experience integrating with SCADA and OT Networking
- Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities
- Experience with performing Risk Assessments and Controls Safety Design
- Proficient with pneumatic concepts and design
- Familiar with NFPA70e electrical safety practices
- Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 15+ years of experience in controls and automation in a production environment
- Experience working in an energetics facility
- Experience with control panel layout, electrical component selection, and cable routing

- Integrate internal and external FactoryOS software into automation equipment and production lines
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for automation failures, ensuring rapid resolution and long-term reliability
- Install, configure, and tune servo drives / VFDs
- Partner with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot equipment issues, reduce downtime, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering
- 8+ years of experience in controls and automation in a production environment
- Strong in Siemens PLC programming (Ladder and Structured Text)
- Proficient in servo drive and VFD configuration, PID tuning, STO/SS, etc.
- Strong knowledge of ethernet based communication protocols (ProfiNET, ProfiSAFE, Ethernet IP.)
- Proficient with electrical component selection and a solid foundation of wire sizing, circuit protection, and heat management in control cabinets.
- Experience integrating with SCADA and OT Networking
- Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities
- Experience with performing Risk Assessments and Controls Safety Design
- Proficient with pneumatic concepts and design
- Familiar with NFPA70e electrical safety practices

- 10+ years of experience in controls and automation in a production environment

The Rocket Motor Systems team is designing and commissioning automated equipment for high rate production of Solid Rocket Motors at our plant in McHenry, MS. In this role, you will design, commission, and upgrade Solid Rocket Motor production equipment.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Design, commission, and upgrade Solid Rocket Motor production equipment
- Lead all aspects of vendor management, including SOW, RFP/RFQ, vendor downselect, design reviews, FAT, and SAT
- Lead onsite commissioning efforts by coordinating Controls, Mechanical, Electrical, and Safety personnel
- Integrate internal and external FactoryOS software into automation equipment and production lines
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for equipment failures, ensuring rapid resolution and long-term reliability
- Partner with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot equipment issues, reduce downtime, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering,
Electrical Engineering - 6+ years of experience in designing and commissioning automation equipment in a production environment
- Have successfully managed an integrator all the way from RFQ through SAT for a $500k+ CapEx project
- Proficient CAD modeling in NX, Solidworks or AutoCAD
- Proficient in controls integration including PLCs, control panels, robots, stacklights, I/O blocks, etc
- Solid understand of safety devices including Estops, door interlocks, light curtains, LIDAR scanners, and trap keys
- Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 9+ years of experience in designing and commissioning automation equipment in a production environment
- Have successfully managed an integrator all the way from RFQ through SAT for a $2MM+ CapEx project
- Strong 3D CAD in NX
- Proficient in Siemens PLC programming
