As a Survey Crew Chief, you’ll be the trusted expert leading field operations that keep projects moving, from residential developments and commercial sites to large-scale mixed-use communities and renewable energy projects.

Job Description
Start your day in a company-provided truck, heading to project sites that make a visible impact.
Lead boundary, topographic, construction layout, and as-built surveys for land development projects.
Operate Trimble total stations, GPS, and data collectors to capture high-quality, reliable data.
Double-check field calculations to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Establish and locate vertical and horizontal control points with precision.
Record detailed field notes and prepare accurate as-built documentation.
Maintain your assigned equipment and vehicle with professionalism and pride.
Work independently or guide a team member through the day’s layout and setup.
Solve on-site challenges, interpret plans, and communicate clearly with contractors and engineers.
Follow Atwell’s safety protocols and quality standards on every job.
Qualifications
8+ years of experience as a Survey Crew Chief.
Trimble equipment experience preferred.
Strong communication skills with contractors, inspectors, and team leaders.
A proactive approach to solving problems and getting work done right.
Willingness to travel overnight occasionally (preferred).

As a Project Surveyor, you’ll play a key role in bringing residential, commercial, mixed-use development, and renewable energy projects to life. This role gives you the autonomy to manage projects from start to finish, supported by experienced office and field teams. You’ll work in an entrepreneurial environment where your voice matters, your expertise is trusted, and your career growth is prioritized.
What You’ll Do:
Partner closely with Project Managers to develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules for land development projects of all sizes.
Lead and oversee boundary, ALTA/NSPS, topographic, and construction surveys with accuracy and efficiency.
Use your technical expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center to process data, create detailed plats, exhibits, and maps, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
Review and verify survey calculations and field data, ensuring precision and compliance with project standards.
Collaborate daily with engineers, contractors, and clients - you’ll be the trusted survey voice on the team.
Continue developing your skills through paid training, industry events, and professional networking opportunities.
What You Bring:
A deep understanding of Boundary Surveys, ALTA Surveys, Legal Descriptions, Easements, Title Review, and Real Estate Documents.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center - you know how to turn data into accuracy and insight.
Experience with Trimble field equipment preferred.
Prior field crew experience is a plus - you understand both sides of the process.
LSIT or PLS certification desired (multi-state licensure a plus).

Summary/Overview:
We’re seeking an Associate Director level candidate with strong credit skills and the ability to work across multiple sectors to join our growing company. The candidate will be a member of our Corporate, Project & Infrastructure Finance group and will be responsible for evaluating transactions across various sectors, including general corporates, power, renewable energy, and infrastructure. The analyst will have direct involvement in high profile and challenging work with exposure to senior staff and external market participants.

The anticipated annual base salary range for this full-time position is $100,000 to $130,000. Offer amounts are determined by factors such as experience, skills, geography, and other job-related factors.
