What are we looking for?

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior DevOps/Cloud Engineer/SRE with 7+ years of experience to become an integral part of our dynamic DevOps platform team. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting cutting-edge AI SaaS and PaaS solutions.

Please note: This position may require participation in an on-call support rotation in the future.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

Technical Skills:

• Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent education and experience equating to the US equivalent of a bachelor’s degree.
• SDLC & CI/CD: 5+ years of experience with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and CI/CD technologies, including hands-on expertise with at least two different CI/CD ecosystems. Optional: We also value experience with MLOps practices and their integration into CI/CD pipelines.
• Software Engineering: 3+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, with a preference for backend development experience. Nice to have: Experience with Temporal workflows.
• Networking & Operating Systems: Strong knowledge of networking principles and robust experience with Operating System concepts, backed by 5+ years of hands-on Linux administration.
• Cloud Platforms: 5+ years of in-depth experience with AWS (highly preferred) and/or GCP. Highly desired to have certifications in AWS or GCP.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): 5+ years of experience with IaC tools, primarily Terraform.
• Kubernetes: 5+ years of experience managing Kubernetes clusters, including practical experience with at least one cloud-managed service (e.g., EKS, GKE, AKS).
• Database Management: Strong experience with PostgreSQL.
• Troubleshooting: Proven ability to effectively troubleshoot issues across code, cloud infrastructure, networks, and operating systems.

Observability: 5+ years of experience working with observability tools, defining SLOs, designing alerts, dashboards and escalation chains.

• AI-Specific Technologies (Preferred): Given our focus on AI solutions, experience with MLOps, Nvidia NIM and relevant Nvidia certifications would be a significant asset.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll be part of the team responsible for the architecture, scalability, and reliability of Workato’s distributed cloud platform. You’ll design and optimize the systems that allow our services to run securely and efficiently at scale. This is a highly technical role that requires deep experience with cloud infrastructure, Linux internals, and large-scale distributed systems. 

In this role, you will also be responsible to:

As a Senior Security Engineer specialising in Cloud Infrastructure, you will own and evolve the security posture of our cloud environments across AWS and GCP, with a focus on network security, perimeter defence, and attack surface management.

Key Responsibilities

• Own cloud security posture and attack surface management: Maintain comprehensive visibility and control across AWS and GCP environments. Implement cloud-native security monitoring, detection, and alerting to proactively identify and mitigate threats before they impact customers or the business. Define and enforce security baselines using policy-as-code.
• Design and maintain web application firewall infrastructure: Own WAF configurations across AWS and GCP, developing and tuning detection rules aligned with application threat models and emerging attack patterns. Establish operational processes for rule lifecycle management and incident response integration, collaborating with application teams to implement protections without impacting availability.
• Architect network segmentation and isolation: Design and implement network security strategies ensuring proper separation between development, staging, and production environments. Define consistent patterns across multi-cloud infrastructure, applying zero-trust principles to workload communication and documenting reference architectures for engineering teams.
• Deliver modern secure remote access: Architect and implement a scalable remote access solution to meet current network security and environment isolation requirements. • Drive security automation and DevSecOps adoption: Implement Infrastructure as Code for security controls using Terraform and cloud-native tools. • Improve team capabilities and cross-functional collaboration: Partner with platform and infrastructure teams to embed security into cloud foundations. As a Staff Solutions Architect at Upbound, you own the technical success of our customers. You are the primary driver of customer outcomes, from initial implementation through production adoption, ensuring customers achieve real business value with Crossplane and the Upbound platform.
