⚡ We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Developer (Node.js) to join our development team in Lisbon. You’ll help build and scale a next-generation payments integration platform that connects businesses with multiple financial service providers through secure, high-performance APIs.
🎯 Your Mission:
Design and implement robust solutions that power our payments platform, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability. You will contribute to building seamless integrations with banks and payment providers while actively participating in the evolution of a cutting-edge fintech product.
✅ Responsibilities:
• Design, implement, and optimize backend-heavy solutions for our proprietary payments platform
• Develop and maintain complex integrations with banks, PSPs, and other third-party providers
• Actively participate in the full feature lifecycle, from concept and design to implementation and release
• Contribute to the continuous evolution of our fintech payments solution, ensuring adaptability to market needs
• Collaborate within agile development cycles (Scrum), including grooming, sprint planning, and bi-weekly releases
• Identify opportunities to improve technical approaches, performance, and development processes
• Work closely with design, product, and business teams to align features with user and business needs
✅ Requirements:
• 5+ years of professional experience in web development
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Node.js
• Solid experience with Next.js, Nest.js, Apollo, and Material UI
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript
• Experience with high-load SQL and/or NoSQL databases
• Hands-on experience with REST, GraphQL, and WebSockets
• Knowledge of TDD and experience writing automated tests
• Understanding of microservice architecture principles
• Proficiency with Git workflows
• Hands-on experience with RabbitMQ and Redis
• Experience with MongoDB and MySQL
• Advanced English skills (written and spoken)
✅ Nice to Have:
• Experience in Fintech or payment systems
• Exposure to Kubernetes or containerized environments
• Familiarity with DevOps practices (CI/CD, cloud deployment)

WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Databricks Lakehouse Platform, with a strong focus on Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog.
- Lead the development of batch and streaming data workflows that power analytics, machine learning, and business intelligence use cases.
- Collaborate with data scientists, architects, and business stakeholders to translate complex data requirements into robust, production-grade solutions.
- Optimize performance and cost-efficiency of Databricks clusters and jobs, leveraging tools like Photon, Auto Loader, and Job Workflows.
- Establish and enforce best practices for data quality, governance, and security within the Databricks environment.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the evolution of the team’s Databricks expertise.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Deep hands-on experience with Databricks on Azure, AWS, or GCP, including Spark (PySpark/Scala), Delta Lake, and MLflow.
- Strong programming skills in Python or Scala, and experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
- Solid understanding of distributed computing, data modeling, and performance tuning in cloud-native environments.
- Familiarity with orchestration tools (e.g., Databricks Workflows, Airflow) and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform).
- A proactive mindset, strong communication skills, and a passion for building scalable, reliable data systems.
- Professional English communication skills (C1-level, written and spoken).

About the job:
This function plays a central role in driving financial performance, strategic planning, and decision support across the organization. Reporting to the FP&A Manager, this role will own key elements of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, while partnering closely with leadership and business teams to ensure data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Forecasting
- Lead the preparation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-range financial plans across corporate and project entities.
- Support the FP&A Manager in consolidating financial projections across multiple business units and geographies.
- Build and maintain dynamic financial models to evaluate business scenarios, investment cases, and strategic initiatives.
Reporting & Performance Management
- Prepare monthly management reports, KPIs, and variance analyses against budget and forecasts.
- Translate complex financial data into clear insights and actionable recommendations for management and investors.
- Develop dashboards and reporting tools to monitor business performance, including operational and financial metrics.
Business Partnering
- Collaborate with Accounting, Treasury, and Operations to align financial insights with real-world outcomes.
- Partner with project teams on CAPEX planning, cash flow forecasting, and return-on-investment analyses.
- Support cross-functional initiatives such as pricing strategies, cost optimization, and resource allocation.
Process & Systems Development
- Enhance FP&A processes, tools, and reporting automation to support scalability and accuracy.
- Support ERP and BI tool improvements, ensuring data integrity and system integration between finance and operations.
- Document and continuously improve FP&A policies, templates, and procedures.
Requirements
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Management, or related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in FP&A, Controlling, or similar analytical roles.
- Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling.
- Strong proficiency in Excel (advanced modelling skills required) and experience with ERP or BI tools (Power BI or similar).
- Solid understanding of financial statements, performance drivers, and cash flow dynamics.
- Ability to partner and act as a trusted advisor to operational and leadership teams.
- Fluency in Portuguese and English.
