About the Role

We're looking for a detail-oriented and efficient Video Editor to join our Media Team, based in Malaysia. This role is an integral support position within our editing pipeline — you'll own podcast post-production, help scale our paid advertising efforts through video variations, keep our senior editors moving fast by pulling selects and building best-of sequences, bring our athletes' biggest moments to life through match highlights and recaps, and play a hands-on role in brand campaigns and Selkirk Studios documentary productions. Responsibilities

• Brand Campaign Support: Assist the media team with brand video campaigns by delivering strong first cuts and taking on editing responsibilities that help move projects forward efficiently
• Selkirk Studios Documentary Support: Help scale Selkirk Studios' documentary production by assisting with first cuts, rough assembly edits, and ongoing editing responsibilities — contributing to long-form storytelling that represents the brand at its highest level
• Paid Ad Variations: Take existing video content and create multiple variations optimized for paid advertising across platforms such as Meta, YouTube, and TikTok — adapting formats, lengths, and hooks to support performance marketing needs
• Clip Pulling & Short Form Cutdowns: Create short form, cutdown snippets from long form videos — identifying the strongest moments and optimizing each clip for social performance across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts
• Selects & Best Shots Sequences: Review and comb through raw footage to pull the best takes and moments, then assemble organized best-shots sequences for senior editors and the broader editing team to work from efficiently
• Match Highlights & Recaps: Watch and clip standout moments from pro pickleball matches, and edit engaging highlight reels and match recap videos for use across social media and digital platforms — with a strong sense of the game and an eye for what excites fans
• Podcast Editing: Take full ownership of podcast post-production — cutting episodes for audio clarity, pacing, and engagement, and formatting video versions for YouTube and social platforms
• Collaborate with the media and marketing teams on creative briefs and project priorities
• Manage and organize video assets, footage libraries, and project files
• Apply color grading, sound mixing, and basic motion graphics as needed
• Stay current with platform specs, ad formats, and editing trends

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional video editing experience
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro is required — this is the primary editing tool used by our team and all projects are worked on within Premiere Pro
• Strong understanding of social media platforms and what drives performance across short form content
• Experience editing podcasts (audio cleanup, pacing, video formatting)
• Comfortable supporting long-form and documentary-style projects at the assembly and first cut stage
• Ability to identify compelling moments in sports footage and cut them into engaging highlight content
• Comfortable working within an established creative pipeline and supporting senior editors
• Strong organizational skills — able to log, label, and manage large volumes of footage efficiently
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects at once
• Strong communication skills in English
• Based in Malaysia and eligible to work locally

Nice to Have (Not Required)

• Experience editing sports highlights or match recap content
• Experience with long-form or documentary video production
• Familiarity with Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, DaVinci Resolve, or Audition
• Experience editing paid social ads or performance marketing content

Position Overview

The Photographer / Multimedia Specialist Specialist is responsible for the end-to-end creation of premium visual assets. While the core of this role is distinct, high-fidelity product photography, the successful candidate must also possess strong videography and video editing skills to support the brand's evolving content and social media needs. You will be responsible for ensuring that whether the asset is a still image or a video clip, the lighting and quality remain consistent and industry-leading.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation (Photography & Video)

• Initial Primary Function - Product Studio: Capture high-quality still life images and detailed product videos of paddles, accessories, footwear, and apparel for e-commerce and web use.
• On-Model & Lifestyle: Conduct on-model e-commerce photography and videography, ensuring consistent lighting, styling, and angles that align with brand guidelines.
• Social-First Content: Produce engaging, native-style short-form video content (Reels, TikToks, Shorts) and trending visual assets specifically designed for social media engagement.
• Editorial & Campaign: Capture dynamic brand editorial imagery and cinematic video featuring athletes to communicate action, movement, and brand spirit.
• Events & Action: Provide live-action photography for tournaments and events, including gameplay and behind-the-scenes content.

Post-Production & Asset Management

• Photo Editing: Manage high-end retouching, color correction, and file preparation for web, print, and large-format displays.
• Video Editing: Handle full-cycle video post-production including assembly, color grading, audio mixing, and motion graphics for both long-form (YouTube) and short-form (Social) formats.
• Digital Asset Management (DAM): Maintain an organized DAM system with standardized naming conventions for photo and video files, ensuring easy access and proper archiving.

Studio & Operations

• Equipment Management: Oversee the maintenance, setup, and safe storage of all photography, video, audio, and lighting equipment.
• Sample Logistics: Build and maintain a rigorous process for managing photo studio samples, including tagging, tracking, and inventory storage to ensure product accuracy.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with marketing and product design teams to ensure all creative assets support campaign goals, launch timelines, and technical product accuracy. 
• Shooting Process: Ability to understand and execute established shooting processes, with a demonstrated capacity to refine workflows to improve efficiency and quality.

Workflow & Asset Management

• Actively manage end-to-end photography workflows and processes, ensuring image creation moves smoothly from start to finish.
• Utilize project management tools to track task progress, manage timelines, and communicate updates to cross-functional partners.
• Identify workflow bottlenecks and proactively recommend and implement process refinements to improve team efficiency, reduce time-to-market, and elevate output quality.
• Utilize internal Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems to organize, upload, and metatag content to optimize search functionality. 
• Ensure all final deliverables meet brand standards and technical manufacturing specifications for their intended use.

Qualifications:

Required

• Proven professional experience in product still life, editorial, lifestyle, and on-model e-commerce photography.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating technical proficiency in both studio and live-action environments.
• High proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premier, and CaptureOne.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex lighting setups for studio and on-location shoots.
• Advanced post-production skills in retouching and file preparation for various media.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with Creative and Product teams.
• Studio photography equipment: camera, lighting, grip, and video gear.
• Experience leveraging generative AI tools + processes to optimize efficiency and work quality. 

Preferred

• Experience working within an in-house brand creative studio.
• Professional background capturing sports, athletes, or action-driven content.
• Knowledge of current fashion, performance apparel, and e-commerce photography trends.
• Familiarity with content creation optimized for social media platforms.
• Prior experience managing studio environments, equipment, and creative workflows.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Stationary Positions & Movement: Physically active role requiring the ability to stand, move about, and maintain high energy for extended periods during shoots and events. Must be able to travel frequently and independently between various on-location shoot sites and tournaments.
• Lifting & Carrying: Ability to move or transport photography equipment, lighting gear, and studio samples weighing up to 40 lbs, utilizing assistance or equipment as needed.
• Pushing & Pulling: Ability to push or pull rolling gear cases, lighting stands, or equipment carts weighing up to 40 lbs.
• Manual Dexterity: Requires precise manual dexterity for handling and adjusting sensitive photography equipment, as well as constant use of hands and fingers for detailed digital retouching and computer-based post-production.
• Visual Acuity: Required to have high-level visual acuity and color vision to perform activities such as lighting setup, critical focus adjustment, detailed retouching, and color correction across various media.
• Work Environment: Primarily an on-site professional setting requiring movement between a studio environment and various on-location shoot sites (e.g., tournaments and brand events). Requires significant professional flexibility to accommodate evenings, weekends, and varying environmental conditions during event coverage.
• Working Hours: Ability to align working hours with the US Pacific time zone for key meetings.

Travel & Schedule

• Travel: Regular travel to tournaments, brand events, and on-location shoots is required to capture live-action and editorial content.
• Schedule: Generally follows standard business hours but requires significant professional flexibility, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate event coverage and production deadlines.
