• Strong communication and multi-tasking skills to handle multiple projects with different stakeholders.
• Advanced Level experience in using Excel and PowerPoint.

About the Role

As a member of our JAPAC Sales Strategy and Operations team, you will have an integral role in driving the insights, operations, and strategy that enables our JAPAC Sales Region to run better, faster, and smarter as we expand throughout the region. Sales Strategy and Operations is an excellent platform to learn how a business really runs. 

You will be joining the Sales Strategy and Operations team as a high impact contributor, gaining exposure to a wide variety of challenges, processes, and data that makes the engine of this Sales organization hum. The Team

The Rubrik Japan Sales organization seeks a high-caliber Sales Operations partner to serve as a strategic catalyst for regional growth. The Director, Regional Supply Chain Management for Japan acts as the representative for Global Supply Chain Management for all matters relating to the Japan region. This position focusses on building, implementing and executing the regional supply planning and distribution strategy in alignment with overall regional business strategy. The role oversees the distribution network and operations, regional demand, supply, operations and inventory planning, as well as ensuring successful product in-market product launches. 

This highly matrixed role closely liaises with many global and regional functions (Sales & Commercial, Packaging, Supply Planning, Medical Affairs, Clinical Operations, Quality, Finance and Tax), and represents the global supply chain in all Japan regional matters. This position also ensures compliance of the supply operations with local / regional regulations and global standards. 

The role may also act as a liaison between the local Japan management team and the wider Technical Operations group in the Japan region – including Global Packaging Operations and Global Product Supply.   

This position is a member of the Global Supply Chain leadership team and is located in Tokyo, Japan.  

Work Model: 

Flex: This role will typically require onsite work 2-3 days each week, or more depending on business needs. In many locations, the business will set certain days each week that Flex employees are required to be onsite.

Responsibilities:

1. As the Japan region grows, support all supply related activities in the region. Represent supply chain on the regional commercial management team.  
2. Build and oversee a reliable supply network in Japan for commercial distribution and support local clinical distribution activities including new product launch readiness as needed. 
3. Manage all local supply chain related activities including, but not limited to, order management, transportation, warehousing, inventory management and reporting, logistics and trade (import / export), and ERP transactions for Japanese product. 
4. Own the business relationship with all in country third party logistics providers. 
5. Alongside the local commercial team, oversee the regional Sales Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) for commercial launches, marketed products, early access programs and investigator sponsored trials. 
6. Develop annual budget plans and ensure supply chain costs in the region align with financial goals. Identify opportunities for supply chain related cost savings and implement solutions. 
7. Ensure compliance with regional regulations, GDP guidance, trade compliance and tax compliance in all areas of the regional supply chains 
8. Support for order processing operations from and to the wholesaler. 

Requirements:

1. Language: Fluency in both Japanese and English is required, both written and spoken, as well as understanding of local business norms in both countries. 
2. Education: A bachelor’s degree or local equivalent in a related field (Supply Chain, Business, Engineering). A master’s degree in business administration (MBA) is strongly preferred. 
3. Management experience: 8 or more years of experience in Supply Chain / Technical Operations in the pharmaceutical or biotech industries. Strong preference for project management and pharmaceutical launch experience as well as a certificate in Lean / Six-sigma training (green belt or higher). 
4. Pharmaceutical and regulatory experience: Understanding of pharmaceutical industry procedures and regulations including GxP and other regulatory requirements – particularly as it pertains to the local Japan market. Experience with new product introductions as it pertains to supply chain is preferred. 
5. Quality acumen: Familiarity with local and harmonized quality standards as they pertain to finished products and distribution. Experience operating in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology quality system and its related components (deviation, change control, etc…)    
6. Financial acumen and compliance: Understanding of regional and global commercial implications including SOX, tax regulations, international trade rules and trade compliance. 
7. Information technology: Hands on experience with the implementation and / or operation of a scalable enterprise resource system (ERP) such as Oracle, SAP or similar system. 
8. Travel: Ability and willingness to travel throughout Japan as needed as well as internationally (estimated four times per year), including travel to California.

• ソリューション・アーキテクトと連携し、重要顧客におけるユースケースの全体的な需要計画を把握します。
• Databricksの主要なユースケースにおいて、Technical Win後のアカウント戦略と実行計画を主導します。
• 複数の営業チームや社内関係者と連携し、特定のユースケースや顧客に対する技術的な責任者となります。お客様がDatabricksの導入を決定したワークロードについて、不確実性を取り除き、オンボーディング、有効化、成功、本稼働、そして健全な利用を推進します。
• お客様が合意したユースケースの本番稼働や運用に関する技術的な問題や質問に対し、最初の窓口として対応します。特に、大規模で複雑な組織においては、複数のユースケースを担当することが多くあります。
• 社内の専門家（共有サービス、ユーザー教育、オンボーディング／技術サービス、サポートなど）と連携し、自身の業務範囲や専門知識を超えるタスクを適切に割り振ります。必要に応じて、より専門的な技術エキスパートにもエスカレーションを行います。

• 以下のワークストリームをカバーするため、顧客に接するすべての技術職およびチームの活動を網羅する実行計画を策定します。

• 製品導入（Databricksのレイクハウス・ビジョンを導入するための戦略と活動）

必要な条件/経験:

• データおよびAI領域における技術的なプロジェクト/プログラムのデリバリーに責任を持ち、顧客との技術的な議論や設計の選択に貢献した8年以上の経験。
• Python、SQL、またはScalaでのプログラミング経験。
• 顧客と直接対面するプリセールス、技術アーキテクト、カスタマーサクセス、またはコンサルティングの経験。
• 分散データシステムに関連するソリューション・アーキテクチャの理解。

At Databricks we are on a mission to empower our customers to solve the world's toughest data problems by utilising the Intelligence platform. As a Delivery Solutions Architect (DSA), you will play an important role during this journey. You will collaborate with our sales and field engineering teams to accelerate the adoption and growth of the Databricks platform in your customers. As a DSA, you will help ensure customer success by increasing focus and technical accountability to our most complex customers who need guidance to accelerate usage on Databricks workloads that they have already selected, helping them maximise the value they get of our platform and the return on invesment.

This is a hybrid technical and commercial role. It is commercial in the sense that you will drive growth in your assigned customers and use cases through leading your customers' stakeholders, building executive relationships, orchestration of other focused/specialized teams within Databricks, and creating and driving plans and strategies for Databricks colleagues to build upon. This is in parallel to being technical, with expectations being that you become the post-sale technical lead across all Databricks products. This requires you to use your skills and technical credibility to engage and communicate at all levels with an organisation. You will report directly to a Field Engineering Director in Japan

The impact you will have:

• You will engage with the Solutions Architect to understand the full Use Case Demand Plan for prioritised customers.
• Lead the Post-Technical Win technical account strategy and execution plan for the majority of Databricks Use Cases within our most strategic accounts.
• Be the accountable technical leader assigned to specific Use Cases and customer(s) across multiple selling teams and internal stakeholders, creating certainty from uncertainty and driving onboarding, enablement, success, go-live and healthy consumption of the workloads where the customer has made the decision to consume Databricks. 
• You will be the first contact for any technical issues or questions related to production/go live status of agreed upon Use Cases within an account, oftentimes services multiple use cases within the largest and most complex organizations. 
• Leverage both Shared Services, User Education, Onboarding/Technical Services and Support resources, along with escalating to expert level technical experts to build the right tasks that are beyond your scope of activities or expertise. 
• Create, own and execute a point-of-view as to how key use cases can be accelerated into production, coordinating with Professional Services resources on the delivery of PS Engagement proposals.
• Navigate Databricks Product and Engineering teams for New Product Innovations, Private Previews and Upgrade needs. 
• Develop an execution plan that covers all activities of all customer-facing technical roles and teams to cover the below work streams:
• Main use cases moving from ‘win’ to production
• Enablement / user growth plan
• Product adoption (strategy and activities to increase adoption of Databricks’ Lakehouse vision)
• Organic needs for current investment Eg. Cloud Cost control, Tuning & Optimization
• Executive and operational governance
• Provide internal and external updates - KPI reporting on the status of usage and customer health, covering investment status, important risks, product adoption and use case progression - to your Technical GM.

What we look for:

• 8+ years of experience where you have been accountable for technical project / program delivery within the domain of Data and AI and where you can contribute to technical debate and design choices with our customers.
• Programming experience in Python, SQL or Scala 
• Experience in a customer-facing pre-sales, technical architecture, customer success, or consulting role
• Understanding of solution architecture related distributed data systems
• A understanding of how to attribute business value and outcomes to specific project deliverables

We are looking for a Director, Field Engineering in Japan to join our world-class, hyper‑growth organization. In this role, you will lead first-line Managers and teams of pre-sales Solutions Architects, focusing on complex, strategic accounts and driving our expansion in Japan across manufacturing and automotive.

You will partner closely with Sales to grow product consumption, while coaching sales and pre‑sales teams to operate as a single, high-performing unit. You are adept at articulating complex, business value‑focused solutions, supporting sophisticated enterprise sales cycles, and building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders in large Japanese corporations. This role reports to the Technical GM – Japan.

• Hire and manage first-line Managers and a growing team of technical pre‑sales Solutions Architects.
