Role Summary and Impact:

EssenceMediacom is a brand of WPP Media, the world’s largest media investment company and are a part of WPP. In fact, we are responsible for one in every three ads you see globally. We are currently looking for a Senior Media Planner to join us. In this role, You will be responsible for all tasks and client service activities associated with an assigned brand/account. You will act as a steward of the entire communications planning process by providing pillars for media plans, executing plan changes/maintenance of media plans.

In this role, your goals will be:

In three months:

• Being up to speed with cutting edge proprietary planning tools as well as able to extract and analyze important data; validating our recommendations.
• You would have a pulse of the business category & knowledge of competitive frame.
• Worked on moderate scaled live campaigns
• Have initiated contact with key media partners and understood the baseline of their offerings particularly digital.
• Connected with internal specialist & external stakeholders units to integrate solutions.

In six months:

• Being able to comprehend and apply our proprietary planning framework model in key campaigns.
• You would have landed live; larger scaled campaigns.
• You will have started to build relationships with the key decision makers within the current client portfolio.
• Master a flawless media execution process, working alongside various stakeholders.

In 12 months:

• Develop a strong category acumen - from a media and business point of view.
• Identify a pipeline of commercially viable solutions to support our client’s goals.
• Create and execute a pipeline of exciting business building ideas which could potentially be industry award winning.

What your day job looks like at EssenceMediacom:

• Develop strategy for brands including annual phasing and budgeting to achieve brand KPI's.
• Assist CH/BM to maintain responsive working relationships with brand teams to identify potential opportunities.
• Troubleshooting and resolving any issues with media/account teams and media vendors.
• Assist CH/BM in developing brand KPI's.
• Analyze data to provide client with recommendations for optimizations.
• Maintain relationships with media suppliers, internal teams and brand teams.
• Prepare Quarterly/Semi Annual & Annual media reviews and way forward.
• Responsible for timely deliverables of the deadlines for e.g. Annual Media Strategy Presentations, monthly post buys & any other requirement from client on ad hoc basis.
• Resolve billing related issues.
• Work cross-functionally with Client management team and Account Directors as needed.
• Work with cross function departments/teams as part of the media management process.
• Showcasing of launches & presentations to the brand team after launch.
• Assisting CH/BM in participating in regional award is mandatory with at least once in a quarter.
• Train Assistant Planner/Media Planner on media basics.

• Must have strong organizational and numeracy skills
• Flexibility and able to work under pressure.
• Proficient in MS Excel.
• Excellent personal/organizational management.
• Able to set and meet multiple demands within challenging deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to communicate effectively at all levels, internally and externally, formally & informally.

Minimum qualifications:

• Must be a BBA / MBA from a reputable university of equivalent. 
• Must have an experience of at least 3+ years in media/digital/marketing experience.

What your day job looks like at EssenceMediacom:

• Responsible for complete portfolio for media deliveries as well as company KPIs.
• Act as the primary media expert for assigned clients and client service team, including planning and buying of media. Contribute to media strategy development on other client teams as needed.
• Maintain and develop responsive working relationships with all the stake holders of the business to identify potential opportunities
• Acquire comprehensive understanding of client overarching marketing objectives.
• Review quarterly/semi annual & annual category reviews.
• Ensure timely deliverables of the deadlines for e.g. Annual Media Strategy Presentations (MRG), Monthly Post Buys.
• Review campaign analysis directly relevant to optimization and/or planning and buying decisions.
• Analyze multiple sources of external data to assist in planning and buying decisions. Utilize both digital and traditional data sources.
• Help develop new hire training, as well as department-wide continuing education programs. Actively mentor new employees and encourage shared learning across the department.
• Work cross-functionally with client management team and Account Directors as needed.
• Review campaign analysis directly relevant to optimization and/or planning and buying decisions.
• Analyze multiple sources of data to assist in developing a plan of action for the brand 
• Recommend on periodic basis any new media vehicles (Non – Tv) and devise strategies.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Clear and solid understanding of the business
• Mentor and train new Media Planners
• Ensure quality control of media deliverables to Client.
• Candidate must have a bachelors / master’s degree from a reputable educational institute.
• Must have at least 5+ years experience.
