What will be your responsibilities within IBKR:

Technical Excellence

• Design, optimize, and extend transaction surveillance and data pipeline processes to enhance system efficiency, reliability, and scalability
• Navigate seamlessly between strategic, system-level architecture and function-level implementation details of our surveillance system, which orchestrates 150+ processes
• Optimize data architectures and databases for maximum performance and reliability
• Build developer tooling to accelerate development workflows and system monitoring
• Ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance with regulatory standards 

Ownership and Cross-Functional Partnership

• Take ownership of projects and sub-systems from planning through resolution, making impactful decisions on complex technical and business-related questions
• Collaborate effectively with quantitative engineers, surveillance model developers, and Compliance stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into scalable designs and processes
• Identify project bottlenecks, risks, and limitations; calculate costs; and provide strategic insights to stakeholders
• Transform high-level surveillance concepts into production-ready processes that deliver actionable insights

Data Architecture & Stewardship

• Own and curate dozens of mission-critical datasets that drive surveillance operations
• Design, build, and automate robust data pipelines to support real-time and batch processing
• Develop advanced data quality frameworks to proactively identify issues before they impact operations

Innovation & Optimization

• Contribute to the evolution of coding standards and internal code review processes
• Drive best practices in data storage, retrieval, governance, and privacy protection
• Drive automation of processes and workflows to reduce manual effort and enhance system maintainability

 Which skills are required:

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience in Python, C++ or Java
• 3+ years of professional experience in Python as a primary language (non-scripting)
• Extensive experience in Pandas or NumPy, Polars is nice to have
• 1-3 years of professional experience with Linux operating systems
• Thorough understanding of databases and SQL
• Experience with large Python codebases
• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, or a related area
• High attention to detail

Good to Have:

• Experience with data engineering or ETL pipelines
• Knowledge of finance

What Skills Do I Need?

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative, technical, or business field, or equivalent working experience.
• 4+ years of experience in analytics, data science, or data engineering, with increasing scope and ownership.
• Proficiency with agentic coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) as your primary mode of building, testing, and documenting production data models, including shipping reusable assets that improve agentic workflows.
• Experience translating business requirements into structured analytical approaches, running workshops, and aligning stakeholders on canonical metric definitions.
• Strong data modeling skills and the ability to write performant SQL against cloud warehouses, with a strong emphasis on data quality and automated testing.
• SQL and Python proficiency for data modeling, pipeline orchestration, and API integrations using the broader data stack (dbt, Airflow, dlt, etc.).

Nice to Haves

• Experience with semantic modeling tools such as MetricFlow, Cube, or LookML
• Experience with data cataloging and metadata platforms such as DataHub or Atlan

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data models and pipelines primarily using AI coding tools, with consistent best-practice patterns, clear documentation, and high-quality standards
• Build and improve agentic coding workflows to accelerate data modeling and testing, while staying in the loop on business logic, review, and company-specific edge cases
• Partner with stakeholders to surface conflicting metric definitions, run alignment workshops, and establish canonical standards across domains
• Define and enforce data quality standards across pipelines — including unit tests grounded in sample data and lineage-aware test placement — and enable domain analysts to follow the same standards
• Prototype and iterate on a semantic and context layer that makes Tulip's data accessible to both analysts and AI agents, including the documentation and instructions that let an LLM behave correctly against it
• Help the team make sensible calls about where on the risk curve to deploy AI: lower-risk for internal modeling and testing, more cautious for self-serve BI, and most cautious for anything customer-facing

Key Responsibilities:

• System Administration: Provision, troubleshoot, and support our commercial stack (Salesforce, Gong, ZoomInfo, Spotlight.ai, Amplemarket, etc.). Serve as the primary point of contact for all user and system issues.
• AI & Workflow Automation: Design and maintain scalable automations using Zapier and n8n; utilize Claude Code and other AI tools to write scripts, build integrations, and automate repetitive GTM tasks.
• Process Improvement: Partner with GTM leaders to identify gaps, prioritize enhancements, and maintain a clear roadmap that drives productivity and revenue impact.
• Data & Reporting: Ensure key objects and fields are structured for reliable reporting. Build or tune Salesforce reports and dashboards for ad-hoc and recurring analytics.
• Documentation & Enablement: Create succinct user guides, process maps, and change-logs so teams know how (and why) things work. Train users on new features and best practices.Security & Compliance: Partner with IT & Security to enforce role-based access, data retention policies, and audit requirements.
