About This Role

Axsome Therapeutics is currently searching for a field based Long-Term Care (LTC) Specialty Account Manager (SAM) to drive LTC commercial activities for an assigned geography by executing marketing strategies to ensure a successful launch and make a meaningful difference through the execution of commercial activities.

SAMs will be responsible for product performance at a territory level and expected to be a disease state expert, product champion and an account specialist. The SAM will provide account management support and exhibit business knowledge of the local landscape to assess key stakeholders plus future trends within the marketplace.

Job Responsibilities and Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Drive product adoption in LTC facilities
• Proficient in both virtual and live customer engagements
• Effectively call on LTC Care teams, building meaningful relationships across the entire LTC ecosystem: Psychiatrists, Neurologists, nurse practitioners, Physician assistants, Nurses and LTC staff, Closed-door pharmacies, clinical pharmacists, case managers and care coordinators.

About This Role

Axsome Therapeutics is currently searching for a Regional Business Director (RBD), Long Term Care (LTC) to lead LTC commercial activities for an assigned geography, establish a team of LTC Account Managers, execute marketing strategies, and ensure a successful launch. The RBD will be primarily responsible for the supervision and leadership of an industry shaping, uniquely structured LTC-focused account management team leveraging the use of a highly sophisticated digital infrastructure. All account managers will be aligned to geographical boundaries.  

The RBD is responsible for LTC sales performance at a Region level and is expected to be a product champion and exhibit the business knowledge of the local landscape to assess key stakeholders plus future trends within the marketplace. This is a cross-functional front-line leader role. The position is field-based and will require travel as needed to develop internal and external relationships.

• Responsible for supervising LTC focused operations of the Region which includes: driving results, hiring and coaching, account manager development, performance management, and the assignment of key "priority" accounts in LTC settings 
• Develop and implement strategic plans for the Region including the right balance of live/virtual interactions and the prioritization of efforts by the team 
• Plan, organize and drive performance to achieve the business potential of the region through coaching and influence of direct reports

Qualifications / Requirements

Position Overview:

We are building a best‑in‑class Field Medical organization as a natural next step in the growth of our Medical Affairs organization at Beam therapeutics! This Director (or Associate Director) level MSL will own a defined US territory with primary responsibility in sickle cell disease (SCD) and shared accountability across the Beam pipeline, including Alpha‑1 antitrypsin deficiency (Alpha‑1) and glycogen storage disease 1a (GSD). You will architect territory strategy, onboard priority treatment centers, engage KOLs and HCPs, generate actionable insights, and drive pre‑commercial launch readiness in close collaboration with cross‑functional partners.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute territory strategy: map treatment centers, referral networks, transplant/infusion sites, cell-collection capabilities, payers, and advocacy groups; prioritize accounts and set measurable objectives.
• Support treatment center onboarding: coordinate scientific and operational readiness aligned with SOPs, compliance, and patient journey requirements; partner with internal teams for qualification and activation.

• Rare disease expertise required; hematology strongly preferred with emphasis on SCD.
• Small biotech experience preferred; demonstrated impact in resource‑constrained settings.
• Launch experience (pre‑approval to post‑launch), ideally in CGT or complex specialty (buy‑and‑bill) environments.
• Proven territory management and account planning capability across complex ecosystems (academic centers, community networks, payers, advocacy).
