As a Software engineering expert, you’ll transform complex PostgreSQL features into elegant, intuitive interfaces for developers. The App DevX team exists to improve the day-to-day effectiveness of mobile engineers at Oura by providing fast, stable, and observable CI/CD systems, robust build and test infrastructure, and strong developer-facing tooling. We are looking for a Senior iOS Platform Engineer to own and evolve the iOS platform, build and test foundations used by all iOS engineers at Oura. This role plays a critical part in improving application observability, build performance, test stability, and CI reliability while reducing operational risk. 

What you will do

Own iOS build system performance and reliability

• Act as a deep technical owner of the iOS build system, including Xcode configuration, build internals, and performance characteristics.
• Diagnose and resolve build-time bottlenecks, non-determinism, and performance regressions in both local and CI environments.
• Improve build debuggability and predictability for day-to-day iOS development.

Own iOS test architecture and stability

• Define and evolve test architecture for iOS unit, integration, and UI tests, with a strong focus on determinism and signal quality.

• Set clear standards and policies for flaky tests, including detection, quarantine, remediation, and enforcement.

The Role: 

We’re looking for a Staff Engineer to join the Core Developer Experience (Core DX) team and help make AlphaSense an exceptional environment for building software. In this role, you’ll focus on enabling engineers to work at high velocity, with confidence and flow, by reducing friction and improving the speed and quality of feedback in local development. You’ll design and evolve the tools, environments, and workflows that support fast, reliable iteration for ~400 engineers globally.

Core DX owns the inner loop of development, the day-to-day experience of writing, building, and testing code, along with the internal developer platform, self-service tooling, and developer productivity insights that support it. This is distinct from Cloud Platform DX (outer loop), which owns CI/CD and production infrastructure. You’ll work closely with Cloud DX to ensure a seamless SDLC experience from local development to production, while staying focused on the developer-facing side of that journey.

A key part of this role is embedding AI into the SDLC in a way that meaningfully augments engineers’ day-to-day workflows, from code authoring to debugging and testing, while ensuring consistent quality and safe adoption at scale.
