About the Role

Senior Technical Account Manager - EMEA

The Role: 

We’re looking for a Staff Engineer to join the Core Developer Experience (Core DX) team and help make AlphaSense an exceptional environment for building software. In this role, you’ll focus on enabling engineers to work at high velocity, with confidence and flow, by reducing friction and improving the speed and quality of feedback in local development. You’ll design and evolve the tools, environments, and workflows that support fast, reliable iteration for ~400 engineers globally.

Your Mission: Architecting the Aiven 2.0 Operating System

At Aiven, we view our people (the Crab Cast) as our primary product. As our Manager of People Operations, you are the Lead Architect of the internal systems that power this product. Your goal isn't just to keep the lights on—it’s to build a world-class employee experience that scales through technology rather than headcount.

You will lead a global team of 5–7 specialists across the US, APAC, and EMEA, sitting at the intersection of Business Velocity, Regulatory Precision, and AI-Driven Efficiency.

In concrete terms, this means you’ll:

• Engineer Efficiency: Lead the transition from manual Jira and HiBob tasks to seamless, automated internal systems. Your mandate is simple: if a process can be handled by an agent, it should not be performed manually.
• Own the Workforce Lifecycle: Act as the custodian of the Aiven Insider journey. From high-stakes onboarding to frictionless offboarding, you own and translate company policies into scalable processes.
• Master Data &  Compliance: Own the Source of Truth for all workforce data. You’ll ensure our systems, processes, and policies are Audit-Ready (GDPR, SOC2) and provide the radical clarity our Executive team and Board need to make data-informed decisions.
• Bridge the Operational Interface: While separate teams own the strategy for Payroll and Global Rewards, you own the operational delivery. You ensure the data flowing into these functions is 100% accurate and compliant globally.
• Drive Systems Architecture: Oversee our People tech stack (HiBob, etc.). You aren't just a user; you are a product owner, ensuring clean handoffs between People, Finance, IT, and Security.
• Own the Vendor Relationships: You will own the strategic and operational relationship with our global HR technology and compliance ecosystem. This includes managing specialist vendors for occupational health, workers’ compensation ensuring regulatory precision.
• Lead and Enable the Team: Manage a global team of specialists, fostering a high-performance environment while ensuring they are equipped with the skills and mentorship needed to architect Aiven's internal operating system.

• Lead company wide context management practices and ensure we are set for success
• Evaluate our core operational systems to determine their interoperability with agents and plan the future of these together with our teams

What We're Looking For

You are a hands-on AI enthusiast, actively exploring and understanding the practical implications of emerging AI models, tools and frameworks. You have a strong network in the AI space and excel at communicating highly complex technical topics in a simple, digestible fashion.

The Mission:

At Aiven, we are moving from being "the open-source database cloud" to the AI infrastructure provider for future developers. Trust is our product, but security is a business partnering function. Your mission is to ensure that as we innovate at high velocity in AI and agentic workflows, security is built into our product DNA, not bolted on as an afterthought.

We are moving away from an "external auditor" model toward an embedded security model. You will lead a high-talent organization that builds security champions within our product squads, ensuring that we move fast without breaking our promise to customers.

What You’ll Do:

• Embedded Security Leadership: Transition the security function from an outside observer to an internal partner. You will build the frameworks and tooling that allow developers to own the security of their code, turning your team into enablers rather than gatekeepers.
• Commercial Acceleration: Partner closely with our sales leaders to win and retain enterprise customers. You will act as the "Face of Trust," personally engaging with customer CISOs to navigate complex security assessments and accelerate the sales cycle.
• Operational Efficiency: Manage and lead our global security team (currently ~20 people). You will be responsible for defining, defending, and optimizing the service and productivity ratios that determine the efficiency of the security function.
• Business Partnering Mindset: Operate with the understanding that you are a partner to GTM and Product. You help our teams win by providing transparent, precise security data and professional humility, rather than building a siloed "fortress."
• AI & Product Innovation: Define the security guardrails for our next-gen AI services (LLMOps, agentic permissions). You ensure our internal use of AI tools—like coding assistants—is safe and accelerates our engineering output.
• Compliance & Precision: Oversee our core compliance (SOC2, ISO 27k, PCI-DSS) and incident response capabilities, ensuring we meet the highest standards of data residency and operational autonomy for our European sovereign cloud initiatives.
