About the position
As a Senior Backend Engineer in one of the AI focused teams, you will help shape the future of intelligent, AI-powered features that enhance how sales teams work. You'll build and maintain serverless event-driven systems and APIs that integrate with third-party services. You'll be responsible for driving technical and product decisions based on your expertise, designing solutions that leverage modern AI capabilities to deliver real value to users. Rather than a monolithic environment, you will help develop an ecosystem of services, as you identify and isolate parts of the system to increase reliability and promote quality. Your decisions will not only have an impact on the way we build our product but also on the end-user experience for all our customers.
What You’ll Do
- Develop AI-powered features that leverage large language models to automate and enhance user workflows.
- Contribute to improving our development processes and environments.
- Build and maintain integrations with third-party platforms and APIs.
- Help define, implement, and maintain our growing ecosystem of microservices.
- Work in software teams where code reviews and pair programming are part of our strong engineering culture.
- Take a security-first approach to implementing features and changes.
- Collaborate with and mentor less experienced engineers on best practices and architectures.
- Have a strong eye on the bigger picture because everything you do will have an impact on 100,000 users globally.
What We’re Looking For Nice to Have
- 5+ years developing scalable, production-ready backend systems.
- Experience with backend systems for AI/ML-powered product is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js.
- Interest in or experience with AI/LLM integration and prompt engineering.
- Experience with serverless architectures and event-driven systems (message queues, state machines, asynchronous workflows).
- Experience working in a cloud environment. Experience working in AWS and familiarity with services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, Bedrock, Step Functions, and API Gateway is a plus.
- Understanding the importance of strong software testing at every stage and an advocate for test-driven development.
- Comfortable analyzing, estimating, and prioritizing complex projects.
- Ability to model data and queries around feature requirements with an emphasis on performance and scalability. Experience working in a tenant database environment is a plus
- Continuous integration and delivery mindset.
- Experience designing and implementing APIs for, and collaborating with, internal and/or public data consumers.
- Team player mentality, committed to the whole software development life cycle in an agile team.

About the position
As a Staff Fullstack Engineer, you will be a technical North Star for the CRM & Plugins domain. You aren't just building features; you are architecting the foundational systems that transform how sales content is created, organized, and distributed at a global scale.
You will partner with product and engineering leadership to bridge the gap between business strategy and technical execution, ensuring our TypeScript-based serverless architecture on AWS remains resilient, scalable,flexible, and forward-thinking. This role is designed for a visionary who balances deep-dive coding with high-level system design and the mentorship of emerging talent.
What You’ll Do
- Architectural Stewardship: Design and oversee the implementation of cloud-native, serverless software solutions that set the standard for performance, high availability and scalability across the organization.
- Strategic Technical Leadership: Define the multi-year technical roadmap for CRM integrations (Salesforce, Microsoft, Google) and plugin ecosystems, ensuring long-term maintainability.
- Cross-Functional Impact: Lead the most complex projects with a broad scope, maintaining high productivity while managing dependencies across multiple engineering squads.
- Mentorship & Culture: Establish and uphold "best-in-class" engineering standards. Actively mentor senior engineers, lead code reviews, and foster an environment of continuous learning and rigorous testing.
- System Optimization: Drive deep-level performance tuning and optimization of the entire stack—from Angular frontend efficiency to complex messaging and database integrations.
- Innovation: Evangelize AI-native development practices and serverless advancements on AWS to keep Showpad at the cutting edge of Sales Enablement technology.
- Operational Excellence: Own the end-to-end lifecycle of critical systems, from initial requirement gathering through to automated deployment and seamless monitoring.

- Proven Technical Authority: Extensive experience as a lead, staff, or principal engineer in a high-growth SaaS environment.
- Architectural Depth: Mastery of TypeScript and modern web frameworks (preferably Angular), with the ability to design and improve complex, distributed full-stack cloud architectures.
- Cloud Expertise: Deep hands-on experience with AWS serverless paradigms and the ability to automate infrastructure at scale.
- Leadership Presence: Exceptional communication skills with a "team-first" mentality and a track record of leading through influence rather than just authority.
- Agile Visionary: Mastery of agile methodologies, capable of refining processes to improve team velocity and output quality.
