About the position

As a Senior Backend Engineer in one of the AI focused teams, you will help shape the future of intelligent, AI-powered features that enhance how sales teams work. You'll build and maintain serverless event-driven systems and APIs that integrate with third-party services. You'll be responsible for driving technical and product decisions based on your expertise, designing solutions that leverage modern AI capabilities to deliver real value to users. Rather than a monolithic environment, you will help develop an ecosystem of services, as you identify and isolate parts of the system to increase reliability and promote quality. Your decisions will not only have an impact on the way we build our product but also on the end-user experience for all our customers.

What You’ll Do

• Develop AI-powered features that leverage large language models to automate and enhance user workflows.
• Contribute to improving our development processes and environments.
• Build and maintain integrations with third-party platforms and APIs.
• Help define, implement, and maintain our growing ecosystem of microservices.
• Work in software teams where code reviews and pair programming are part of our strong engineering culture.
• Take a security-first approach to implementing features and changes.
• Collaborate with and mentor less experienced engineers on best practices and architectures.
• Have a strong eye on the bigger picture because everything you do will have an impact on 100,000 users globally.

What We’re Looking For Nice to Have 

• 5+ years developing scalable, production-ready backend systems.
• Experience with backend systems for AI/ML-powered product is a plus.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js.
• Interest in or experience with AI/LLM integration and prompt engineering.
• Experience with serverless architectures and event-driven systems (message queues, state machines, asynchronous workflows).
• Experience working in a cloud environment. Experience working in AWS and familiarity with services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, Bedrock, Step Functions, and API Gateway is a plus.
• Understanding the importance of strong software testing at every stage and an advocate for test-driven development.
• Comfortable analyzing, estimating, and prioritizing complex projects.
• Ability to model data and queries around feature requirements with an emphasis on performance and scalability. Experience working in a tenant database environment is a plus
• Continuous integration and delivery mindset.
• Experience designing and implementing APIs for, and collaborating with, internal and/or public data consumers.
• Team player mentality, committed to the whole software development life cycle in an agile team.

What you will do

Reporting to our Lead Enterprise Architect, you will join us as a Senior AI Solutions Engineer. In this role, you will be the technical backbone for our internal AI transformation, building the infrastructure that turns innovative ideas into reality at scale. You will act as the connective tissue between our growing portfolio of AI capabilities and the core SaaS platforms that power our internal operations. This is a hands-on builder role where you will bridge the gap between business needs and technical execution, ensuring our AI initiatives are architecturally sound and scalable.

Where you will have impact

• Design and build robust, scalable integrations between our AI capabilities and core SaaS platforms like Salesforce, HubSpot, and Slack.
• Develop reusable integration patterns and architectural blueprints that empower teams to deploy AI solutions efficiently and consistently.
• Build and maintain the shared automation infrastructure that underpins AI-powered processes across the business.
• Act as the dedicated technical partner for our AI Transformation Leads, translating business needs into detailed implementation plans.
• Prototype new AI solutions to prove technical feasibility before hardening them for production environments.
• Ensure all AI integrations adhere to the highest standards of data privacy and security, in line with GDPR and SOC 2 requirements.
• Evaluate new AI tools and frameworks, providing structured recommendations to guide our technology choices and drive innovation.
