Mission Brief 

We deliver the half of the rocket that stays on the ground. As a Senior Ground Fluid Systems Engineer at Isar Aerospace, you deliver the ground fluid infrastructure required for safe, reliable, and rapid test and launch of the Spectrum rocket. This includes test-rigs for development, qualification, and acceptance of launch vehicle and propulsion systems as well as entire launch bases. You work hand-in-hand with Propulsion and Launch Vehicle development teams to translate their requirements into functional designs and concepts of operations. You tackle complex engineering challenges across multiple projects and phases – from concept to detail design, execution, commissioning, and handover to site owner and operator.

Your Role in Our Space Mission: 

• Design fluid systems for test and launch facilities, including rocket engine test-rigs, structure pressurization test-rigs, integrated stage testing rigs, launch pads, etc.
• Perform sizing calculations and/or numerical simulations for fluid systems, including cryogenic propellants storage, conditioning, and distribution systems, high-pressure gas distribution and pressurization systems, etc.
• Select and procure suitable fluid hardware, including tanks, pumps, heat-exchangers, valves, pressure regulators, safety-valves, instrumentation, etc.
• Prepare technical documentation, such as PFDs and P&IDs, hardware lists, datasheets, technical notes etc. that serve as a basis for manufacturing planning and execution
• Lead and contribute to system design reviews and risk assessments
• Act as a technical point of contact and subject matter expert for the project and operation teams, consulting on fluid system questions and decisions 
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and contribute to structuring and expanding knowledge in the team with guidelines, checklists, processes, presentations, etc.
• Depending on interest and experience: 
  - lead or support factory and site acceptance tests for fluid systems
  - lead or participate in commissioning planning and hands-on site operations
  - support test and launch campaigns on-site or remotely with operations or data analyses.

Qualification Checklist 

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in aerospace, mechanical, process/energy/chemical engineering or an equivalent qualification
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in aerospace, oil & gas, energy, chemical industry, engineering service provider or similar
• In-depth experience in the design and/or operation of high-pressure gas and cryogenic liquid systems, ideally, in the context of rocket testing and launching facilities -    Experience with design and safety analyses and reviews, including HAZOPs
• Expert knowledge of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics and their application to real hardware like valves, regulators, etc.
• Strong analytical skills and able to apply theoretical knowledge to find practical solutions to complex fluid mechanic and/or thermodynamic engineering problems
• In-depth knowledge of industry standards and technical regulations which are common in plant engineering (e.g. ASME, ISO, DIN EN, PED, AD2000, ATEX)

• Modeling and simulation of fluid systems by means of software such as EcosimPro, Python/Matlab script, and/or CFD

• Implement and maintain modular control system libraries and reusable software components in Python, C#, TwinCAT..
• Contribute to real‑time system code running on RTOS environments, including sensor/actuator interaction.
• Develop and support driver‑level and HAL‑layer software.
• Help design and implement system interaction logic and state-machine‑based behaviors.

Mission Brief

As part of the Guidance, Navigation, & Control team, you will support the technical development of the autopilot of the launch vehicle. You will be responsible for developing the GNC flight algorithms and the necessary verification environments following a model-based design approach.

Your Role in Our Space Mission

Mission Brief 

As a Propulsion Test Engineer you will join a team of engineers and technicians performing development, qualification and acceptance tests of subcomponents of liquid rocket engines and integrated subsystems of our Spectrum rocket. You will participate in test operations at the production site in Ottobrunn (Bavaria, Germany) and at the test site in Reischach (Bavaria, Germany) for gas generators, subscale chambers and turbopumps. In addition to test operations, you will conduct maintenance activities and upgrades on the existing test rigs, as well as designing and building test set-ups to cover ad-hoc needs. You will work in tight-knit teams to ensure safe and efficient operations, while closely cooperating with the design engineers to enable fast iterations and timely delivery of hardware.

Team

The Risk Controlling department is responsible for establishing and maintaining a robust, group-wide risk management framework aligned with Basel principles and guidelines. This involves implementing policies and controls to identify, measure, monitor, and manage the bank's risks, including credit, market, operational, and liquidity risk. The team's primary functions are ongoing risk profile monitoring, preparing accurate risk reports for stakeholders and regulators, and assessing capital and liquidity adequacy according to regulatory frameworks like CRR.

Your Responsibilities

As a Quantitative Risk Controller, you will play a central role in the development, implementation, and continuous enhancement of the bank’s economic ICAAP framework, market price risk measurement, and liquidity risk analysis. You will ensure the internal risk-bearing capacity adequately reflects the bank’s risk profile, supporting strategic steering through robust risk analytics and reporting, which contributes directly to risk transparency, regulatory compliance, and financial resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain models and methodologies for the economic perspective of ICAAP, including internal capital calculations and risk aggregation.
• Perform quantification and monitoring of market price risks (especially interest rate risk) using both standard and internal models.
• Analyze and report on liquidity risk metrics, including survival horizons, funding concentration, and liquidity stress testing.
• Conduct scenario analyses and stress tests for economic capital and liquidity risks, ensuring alignment with MaRisk and EBA/ECB guidelines.
• Maintain the risk inventory and contribute to the assessment of material risks in coordination with other risk types.
• Support ICAAP reporting to management, regulators, and internal committees, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance.
• Collaborate closely with Treasury, Finance, and the business lines to align capital, liquidity, and risk strategies.
• Monitor regulatory developments and adapt internal methodologies accordingly.
• Contribute to the ongoing refinement of risk measurement tools and data quality improvements.
  

Your Profile

To succeed in this role, you will need a combination of quantitative expertise, regulatory understanding, and communication skills to support sound risk-based steering and regulatory compliance.

Key Requirements:

• A degree in a quantitative discipline or Business Administration with a quantitative focus.
• 2–5 years of experience in risk controlling, quantitative analysis, or related roles in banking or financial services.
• Proven knowledge of economic capital models, ICAAP methodology (economic perspective), and capital aggregation techniques.
• Strong understanding of market risk measurement (e.g., VaR, sensitivities, stress testing) and liquidity risk metrics.

Mission Brief 

As a Mission Analyst in the Reusability Program, you model and optimize ascent, reentry, and recovery concepts for our next‑generation launcher. Initially supporting ESA reusability studies, you translate Spectrum test insights into mission‑level performance assessments and constraints. You run trajectory optimization and Monte Carlo analyses to de‑risk key design choices. Your results directly inform vehicle architecture, flight‑dynamics decisions, and broader program planning. 

Your Role in Our Space Mission 

• Run end‑to‑end mission and trajectory optimization for ascent, reentry, and recovery scenarios, structuring problems for coupled multidisciplinary analysis and delivering actionable performance insights to inform system‑level decisions.
• Perform trajectory analyses and MonteCarlo simulations to assess sensitivity to dispersions, environmental variations, and vehicle uncertainties. 
• Conduct mission planning and performance assessments for nearterm demonstrators and future HLV configurations. 
• Develop and execute multidisciplinary design optimization (MDO) studies and design‑space exploration to integrate propulsion, aerodynamics, structures, mass properties, thermal constraints, GNC effects, and operational assumptions, comparing mission‑level outcomes across vehicle configurations, recovery concepts, and constraint sets to inform architectural trade‑offs.

Mission Brief 

You will be responsible for defining the thermal environment and architecture of the vehicle, ranging from detailed thermal modeling and system level coupled loads analyses and to active and passive thermal control design. You will be in charge of the development, execution, and correlation of thermal models using FEM/FDM/FVM tools and test data. The decisions you make will directly support hardware qualification, test planning, and system-level design choices, ultimately enhancing the thermal robustness, performance, and reliability of the vehicle throughout its mission.

Your Role in Our Space Mission: 

• Own the vehicle-level thermal architecture, including active and passive thermal control design for the avionic components and payloads
• Perform Thermal Coupled Loads Analysis and develop detailed thermal models using FEM and/or FVM, FDM methods
• Develop, execute, and correlate thermal models using tools such as SIMCenter, STAR-CCM+ and Thermal Desktop supported by component tests and flight data
• Review, assess, and approve component- and assembly-level designs for thermal flight readiness
• Create and maintain specifications and design documentation such as Fluid Plans, Test Plans and Procedures, Test and Analysis Reports, Instrumentation Plans, Work Instructions etc.
• Develop tools, workflows, and standards to improve efficiency, consistency, and repeatability across thermal engineering activities
• Support integration, test, and launch-site operations as subject-matter expert on system thermal performance
• Support with your expertise other technical departments

Qualification Checklist 

• Degree in the field of Aerospace of Mechanical Engineering, or similar
• 8+ years of relevant experience in the field of aerospace and thermal
• Experience with thermal simulation tools (e.g. ANSYS, SIMCenter, Thermal Desktop)
• Experience with coding (e.g. Python, MATLAB)
• Holistic perspective on development of systems 
• Highly organized and proactive with high attention to detail 
• Good communication and organizational skills 
• Fluent in English

Mission Brief

As Flight Safety Engineer you will work within the Flight Safety team and you will perform risk assessments and contribute to the development of the flight safety toolset, in the frame of the licensing process and launch operations.

Your Role in Our Space Mission 

• Conduct simulation and analysis campaigns for upcoming Spectrum missions and future developments
• Perform sensitivity analysis on flight safety topics to optimize the mission analysis process
• Integrate and manage Flight Safety Tools into the mission analysis pipeline
• Prepare and update documentation related to flight safety assessments
• Update, optimize, and maintain the Flight Safety Tools used for analysis and operations
• Manage documentation and V&V for Flight Safety Tools
• Perform sensitivity analyses on flight safety topics to optimize the mission analysis process
• Perform risk assessments on Flight operations
• Coordinate with the other teams for the mission analysis

Qualification Checklist 

• Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Mechanical engineering, Computational Engineering / Computational Science or similar.
• At least 2 years of experience in mission analysis and/or 3/6 DoF launch trajectories optimization/simulations
• Solid understanding of linear algebra, numerical methods, numerical integration, probabilities distribution (PDF, KDE)
• Proven experience in MATLAB/Simulink environment
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Capability of presenting complex issues in a clear and insightful manner
• Highly organized with high attention to detail
• Effective team player adjusting self-sufficiently and quickly to a changing work environment
• Fluent English

Bonus Skills

• Experience with DRAMA, ASTOS, STK, etc.
• Experience with toxic release or explosive risk assessments

Mission Brief 

As a Senior Propulsion Test Engineer you will join a team of engineers and technicians performing development, qualification and acceptance tests of subcomponents of liquid rocket engines and integrated subsystems of our Spectrum rocket. You will participate and lead test operations at the production site in Ottobrunn (Bavaria, Germany) and at the test site in Reischach (Bavaria, Germany) for gas generators, subscale chambers and turbopumps. In addition to test operations, you will conduct maintenance activities and upgrades on the existing test rigs, as well as designing and building test set-ups to cover ad-hoc needs. You will work in tight-knit teams to ensure safe and efficient operations, while closely cooperating with the design engineers to enable fast iterations and timely delivery of hardware.

Your Role in Our Space Mission: 

• Plan, prepare and execute tests, process data and write reports
• Manage test campaigns for propulsion equipment
• Develop and maintain internal test standards, procedures and sequences
• Lead maintenance activities and troubleshooting on existing test benches
• Assist in designing test rigs and laying out sensors
• Design and build test set-ups for ad-hoc testing needs
• Supervise and mentor engineers and technicians

Qualification Checklist 

• Sc / M.Sc in the field of aerospace, mechanical engineering or similar
• 5+ years of experience in propulsion testing or similar
• Hands-on experience in cryogenic fluid rocket propulsion systems
• Experienced in test data acquisition, reduction and evaluation
• Capable of designing fluid and mechanical systems from theoretical concept to precisely dimensioned installations
• Experience and curiosity about troubleshooting
• Physical dexterity is required for working in confined spaces as necessary. Able to lift and carry approx. 20 kg loads
• Willingness to work outdoors
• Ability to perform in high-stress environments, maintaining focus and concentration for long durations
• Adapting sufficiently and quickly to a changing work environment
• High quality and safety mindset paired with a high attention to detail and can-do attitude
• Communicate actively and openly in a constructive manner
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• EU category B driving license
