About The Role:

We are growing our Data Platform Team within the Gropyus Tech department. Our Platform team is responsible for our internal platform, the Gropyus Data Fabric.  

Our team interacts with experts from various domains such as Digital Building Planning and Automation, Product Operations, Sustainability, AI, IoT, construction engineers, building architects, logistics experts, software engineering; solving complex challenges pertaining to end-to-end process for planning, building, and operating a building.  

What You Will Be Doing:

As part of the Data Platform organization, you will: 

• Design, build, and maintain core data platform components, including ingestion frameworks, transformation pipelines, and data storage layers  

• Own and improve data reliability through monitoring, alerting, SLAs, and data quality checks 

• Collaborate with domain experts and software engineers to understand data needs and deliver high-quality datasets. 

• Lead strategic initiatives to modernize or scale our data ecosystem (including query optimization, schema design, analytics, etc) 

• Mentor and guide team members to elevate engineering rigor and technical capability 

What You Bring: 

• Experience working with a tech stack similar to: 

• Programming languages like Python or Kotlin. 

• Databases like Postgres, BigQuery, Spark, Graph DB 

• Tools like: Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Dagster, DBT 

• Cloud Storage Platforms  

• You have strong problem-solving and analytical skills and the ability to break down complex tasks for operations including working with stakeholders, adapting to dynamic input, and leading implementation projects 

• You have experience identifying and resolving issues related to data discrepancies and inconsistencies and creating validation and testing for prevention and handling 

• You have experience in building, operating, and scaling data intensive reactive processing pipelines from end to end including ingestion, storage, orchestration, transformation, enrichment, and analytics 

Optional Experience: 

• Some knowledge about semantic web technologies like RDF and OWL 

• Experience with ontology engineering, and knowledge engineering topics, including using ontology engineering tools such as Protege 

• Experience working with construction industry data and / or complex and large datasets

About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Sr. Technical Instructor with a passion for teaching and working with data to join our training team to setup Enterprise customers and partners for success with dbt to empower data developers to create and disseminate organisational knowledge.

What You'll Do

• Deliver live, world-class instruction to train and onboard dbt Cloud customers, partners, and GSIs in small (~10), large groups (up to ~30) and webinar audiences (50 - 200)
• Create an engaging learning environment initially in a remote context (on Zoom!) and likely in person in the future
• Get learners excited about using dbt Cloud to make an impact at their organization
• Clearly teach and demo new concepts and skills for learners
• Facilitate live co-development sessions where learners apply what they have learned
• Adjust instruction on the fly while focusing on learner outcomes
• Provide critical feedback from your classroom experience to improve curriculum changes
• Become a product expert with dbt in the context of the modern data stack (if you aren’t already)
• Jump in on other education projects including curriculum development and improving our workflows

Compensation

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Marketing Data Analyst (m/f/d) to take ownership of our marketing analytics framework and help us make data-informed decisions to optimize efficiency and ROI of our multi-channel marketing funnel. The Opportunity:

We are looking for a People Analytics Analyst to join our recently formed People Analytics team and serve as a strategic, data-driven partner to leaders across the business. This role blends strong analytical and technical skills with a consultative, business-facing mindset — someone who loves working with data and using it to influence decisions.

This role will partner closely with HR Business Partners, the People Leadership Team (PLT), senior business leaders, and teams across the broader People organization (e.g., Talent Acquisition, L&D, Total Rewards, Workday), translating complex people data into clear insights, narratives, and recommendations. A significant focus of this role will be supporting Sales and Go-To-Market (GTM) organizations, using workforce data to help leaders understand performance, retention, hiring, and organizational effectiveness within revenue-generating teams. You will report to the Director of People Analytics.

The People Analytics function is entering its next phase of growth — expanding beyond foundational reporting into deeper insights, standardization, and proactive workforce analytics. This role will play a critical part in shaping how people data is used to understand organizational health, guide strategy, and support leaders in solving real business problems.

Compensation & Rewards:

In Germany, the compensation range for this role is EUR 85,000 - EUR 102,000. Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset as assessed throughout the interview process. All of our roles include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), giving every team member ownership in Grafana Labs' success. About the team

The Integrations Ecosystem org is the bridge between ClickHouse and the rest of the data world. We build and maintain the connections that make ClickHouse accessible to the developers, data engineers, and analysts who rely on it in production every day. Our scope spans low-level database drivers, ingestion and CDC pipelines, data framework integrations, and BI connectivity — ensuring ClickHouse feels native in whatever stack our users already have.

We maintain the official language clients (Python, JavaScript, Java, Go, Rust, C++, C#) and ODBC driver; ship first-party connectors for Kafka Connect, Apache Spark, Apache Flink, dbt, and Airbyte; and own integrations with BI platforms.

This role sits on the Language Clients team, which provides the JVM foundation that everything else in the ecosystem is built on.

What you'll do

As a Senior Software Engineer on Language Clients, you'll be a technical owner of ClickHouse's Java client and JDBC driver, the foundation that our own Connectors team and a long list of external 

frameworks rely on to talk to ClickHouse.

Your primary users are engineers: the Connectors team building ClickHouse connectors for Kafka, Flink, Spark, and others, and the broader JVM ecosystem (data ingestion tools, BI platforms, data visualizations) that consumes the driver directly. Your job is to make sure they have a fast, reliable, well-designed foundation  and to treat their feedback as the signal for where the driver goes next.

In your first year you can expect to:

• Own the Java client and JDBC driver end-to-end: roadmap, API design, performance, release engineering, and partner-facing support.
• Drive throughput and latency work across the client and ClickHouse server
• Partner day-to-day with the Connectors team as an embedded internal customer: understand what their connectors need from the driver, and ship it.
• Engage directly with external partners across data ingestion, and data visualization on interoperability, regressions, and roadmap alignment.
• Ship visible, measurable wins in throughput, stability, and developer experience.

We expect you to bring opinions, artifacts, and written proposals to shape where we invest next.

About you

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a significant portion focused on data-intensive systems: drivers, SDKs, ingestion, CDC, streaming, or analytics.
• Deep Java and JVM expertise: memory model, GC tuning, profiling, and the ability to reason about throughput and latency at the level of bytes on the wire.
• Hands-on experience building or substantially extending a library that other engineers depend on. You understand that API design compounds, and that a breaking change in a widely used library is a very different thing from a breaking change in an application.
• Strong grasp of database fundamentals: SQL, query execution, and analytical/OLAP workloads. Judgment about when to lean on framework abstractions versus when to drop down to the protocol.
• Solid instincts on concurrency in the JVM: executors, reactive streams, backpressure, connection pooling, and the failure modes that come with each.
• Thoughtful, transparent use of modern AI development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or equivalents) combined with strong independent design and code review judgment. We expect engineers to lean on AI where it's genuinely helpful and to be explicit about where they didn't. Resistance to AI tooling is a mismatch for this team and so is over-reliance without the underlying engineering depth to review what comes out.
• Excellent written communication. Most of our coordination happens in design docs, PR descriptions, and RFCs.
• Genuine open-source disposition: comfort engaging with community issues, external contributors, and public design discussions. You don't need to be a maintainer of a well-known project, but you do need to be comfortable working in the open.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of JDBC internals, ADBC, or Arrow / Arrow Flight SQL.
• Experience designing or evolving wire protocols, or contributing to a widely-used network client.
• Prior contributions to open-source data infrastructure (Kafka, Spark, Flink, dbt, Debezium, Iceberg, or similar).
• Working knowledge of ClickHouse or another columnar/OLAP engine.

• You have hands-on experience with Python, SQL, and Snowflake. Familiarity with frontend technologies is considered a strong plus.
• You have solid experience with data modeling and building ETL/ELT pipelines; experience with tools such as Airflow and dbt is a plus.
• You have worked with data analytics and visualization platforms such as Looker, Tableau, or similar tools.
• You are familiar with Data Engineering best practices, including data quality, monitoring, and observability.
• You have experience driving software projects to successful delivery in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.

Overview

Build and own the data pipelines and knowledge systems that power AI automation. You own the schema, the sources, the quality, and the completeness — working closely with the engineering team to ensure the right knowledge is always in the system and working.

What You’ll Do

Data Schema Design and Ownership

• Design and own canonical data schemas that structure knowledge for AI consumption — versioned, documented, and treated as engineering artefacts.
• Evolve schemas as AI system requirements change: assess downstream impact and coordinate with the engineering team before any rollout.
• Keep the knowledge model legible to domain experts, AI engineers, and future team members through clear documentation of schema decisions.

Source Integration and Pipeline Engineering

• Identify and connect to source systems — databases, repositories, APIs, workflow outputs, domain expert inputs — and build reliable, monitored ingestion pipelines for each.
• Build and maintain production-grade data pipelines using pipeline orchestration tooling (such as Apache Airflow, Prefect, or equivalent): extraction, transformation, validation, loading, error handling, and full observability.
• Keep pipelines current as sources change, new knowledge is produced, or schemas evolve — downstream AI systems are never fed stale or broken data.

Data Cleaning, Transformation, and Quality

• Transform raw source material into structured, consistent, agent-consumable knowledge: normalise formats, resolve conflicts, enforce schema conformance, and eliminate ambiguity.
• Own data quality end-to-end: define standards, build validation logic at ingestion using data quality frameworks (such as Great Expectations or equivalent), and maintain quality metrics across the full knowledge estate.
• Trace quality issues to their root — pipeline fault, schema gap, or source problem — and fix there, not downstream.

Data Systems Maintenance and Lifecycle Management

• Maintain all data pipelines and knowledge systems in production: monitor health, manage dependencies, handle source system changes, and ensure nothing degrades silently over time.
• Run periodic data cleanup: identify and remove stale, duplicate, or degraded knowledge assets that would dilute AI system quality if left in place.
• Manage knowledge deprecation cleanly: when data becomes outdated or superseded, retire it from the system without breaking downstream pipelines or AI system behaviour.

AI Knowledge System Partnership

• Work in a closed loop with the engineering team: diagnose knowledge gaps when AI outputs fail, fix at the pipeline or schema level, and validate through the evaluation framework.
• Understand how RAG retrieval and context assembly work well enough to make data design decisions with AI consumption as the primary constraint.
• Proactively surface knowledge gaps by monitoring AI system failures and escalations, and address root causes before they become production issues.
• Extract specialist knowledge from domain experts and convert it into structured, pipeline-managed data assets the AI system can rely on.

Data Infrastructure and Governance

• Select and manage data storage infrastructure appropriate to each knowledge type — relational databases, document stores, and vector databases (such as Pinecone, Weaviate, or pgvector) — with AI consumption as the deciding factor.
• Implement full data lineage and audit trails: origin, transformation history, and change log for every knowledge asset.
• Enforce data versioning and change management across the knowledge estate, with rollback capability preserved at every step.
• Build a data estate that is legible and accessible across the organisation — laying the foundation for intelligence and analytics as the product portfolio grows.

Stakeholder Communication and Collaboration

• Translate between domain and engineering language in both directions — extracting knowledge requirements from non-technical stakeholders and communicating data decisions and tradeoffs back clearly.
• Work with domain experts to understand how data should be structured and what outputs need to look like — then convert that directly into schema and pipeline requirements.
• Keep engineering, product, and domain stakeholders appropriately informed on pipeline health, data quality, and knowledge gaps — right level of detail, right audience.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Proven track record building and owning production data pipelines end-to-end: source integration, transformation, validation, loading, observability, and ongoing maintenance.
• Strong data schema design skills: canonical data modelling, schema evolution management, downstream impact assessment, and decision documentation.
• Experience integrating with diverse source systems — APIs, databases, document repositories, event streams — with reliable, monitored ingestion pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with pipeline orchestration tooling (such as Apache Airflow, Prefect, or equivalent): scheduling, dependency management, failure handling, and pipeline observability.

You'll own the full lifecycle of key Python integrations, driving architecture, performance, and feature direction across:

What you'll do

• Own and evolve ClickHouse's Python connector and SDK ecosystem, raising the bar on performance, reliability, and API design
• Build and maintain integrations with orchestration platforms (Airflow, Dagster, Prefect) and transformation tools (dbt) to enterprise-grade quality standards
• Drive the AI/LLM integration strategy:  designing connectors and patterns that make ClickHouse a natural fit in RAG architectures, ML feature pipelines, and LLM-powered data applications

About you

• 7+ years of software development experience, ideally with hands-on time as a Data Engineer, Data Scientist, or ML Engineer
• Deep, proven experience designing, building, and maintaining production-grade Python connectors, SDKs, or integrations for at least one major platform (orchestration, BI, MLOps, or data transformation)
• Solid experience with the Python data ecosystem: Pandas, NumPy, Pydantic, and related libraries
• Prior contributions to, or deep practical experience with, popular data orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect)
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML in data engineering contexts: embedding generation, vector search, feature pipelines, or LLM-powered tooling in production, not just experimentation
• Strong understanding of database fundamentals: SQL, data modeling, query optimization, and familiarity with OLAP/analytical databases
• Solid experience with concurrent Python: threading, multiprocessing, and async patterns

What will you do?

As a Senior Software Engineer specializing in JVM-based frameworks, you'll serve as a core contributor, owning and maintaining critical parts of ClickHouse's Data engineering ecosystem. This role sits at the intersection of high-performance database engineering and developer experience, where you'll craft tools that enable Data Engineers to harness ClickHouse's incredible speed and scale.

You'll own the full lifecycle of data framework integrations - from the core database driver that handles billions of records per second, to SDKs and connectors that make ClickHouse feel native in JVM-based applications. About you:

• 6+ years of software development experience focusing on building and delivering high-quality, data-intensive solutions.
