True Anomaly operates across Azure, AWS, their GovCloud variants, on-premises facilities, classified environments, and customer-deployed infrastructure. As Senior Manager of Infrastructure Engineering, you will own the compute platform that ties all of it together: Kubernetes, networking, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and the government-accredited environments that the company deploys into. Your team will grow initially to 6 then further as the company breaks out dedicated subteams for SRE, network engineering, developer productivity, and incident management. The infrastructure you build will serve every program in the company, directly displace subcontractor engagements that currently cost millions per program, and form the foundation of True Anomaly’s accredited compute platform. This role requires someone who can operate across the full breadth of infrastructure disciplines, make sound architectural calls in classified and unclassified environments, and build a team that scales with an aggressive growth trajectory. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Build and lead the Infrastructure Engineering team: initially 3 Senior Engineers (Kubernetes/platform reliability, networking, CI/CD/cloud), growing into dedicated subteams as the organization scales 

• Own the compute platform strategy across commercial, CUI, and classified environments, delivering standardized infrastructure that any program can deploy onto instead of building from scratch 

• Deliver government-accredited compute environments (IL-5, IL-6) using internal engineering capacity, replacing the current model of outsourcing each new accredited environment to subcontractors 

• Drive Kubernetes standardization, multi-tenant cluster design, service mesh, and workload orchestration across the company’s multi-cloud and on-premises footprint

QUALIFICATIONS 

• 10+ years of experience in infrastructure, platform, or systems engineering, with 3+ years leading infrastructure teams across multiple technical disciplines 
• Active U.S. security clearance, such as Secret, Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance 

• Deep hands-on expertise in Kubernetes, container orchestration, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GovCloud variants) at production scale 

• Working knowledge of networking across complex environments: multi-cloud, on-premises, VPNs, firewalls, and network segmentation across classification boundaries

onX is committed to compensating all employees fairly and equitably for their contributions. For this position, applicants can expect to make between $146,000 to $182,000 upon hire. YOUR MISSION 

True Anomaly is building a new Platform Engineering organization to own the compute infrastructure that powers everything we do, from autonomous spacecraft to classified command-and-control software. As VP of Platform Engineering, you will build this organization from day one. You will hire and lead teams across AI engineering, data engineering, infrastructure engineering, and IT. You will set the technical vision for how the company builds, deploys, and operates across commercial, CUI, and classified environments. The platforms your team creates will serve every program in the company and position True Anomaly to offer accredited compute as a strategic capability in the defense market. RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Build and lead the Platform Engineering organization from the ground up: hiring managers, setting technical direction, and scaling a team to 24+ in 2026 with significant continued growth as the company expands its program portfolio and prime capabilities 
• Own the company’s compute infrastructure platform strategy across commercial, CUI, and classified environments, including cloud, containers, networking, and CI/CD 
• Define and deliver the technical architecture for DoD Impact Level 5 and IL-6 accredited compute environments, replacing subcontractor dependency with a reusable, internally owned platform 
• Drive AI enablement infrastructure as the company’s top strategic priority, including the AI platform, data infrastructure, and enterprise AI tooling that the rest of the company depends on

QUALIFICATIONS 

• 12+ years of experience in infrastructure, platform, or systems engineering, with 5+ years leading engineering organizations of 15+ people across multiple technical disciplines 
• Hands-on expertise in cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GovCloud variants), Kubernetes, container orchestration, networking, and CI/CD at scale 
• Direct experience building and operating DoD Impact Level 5 or higher accredited environments, with working knowledge of NIST 800-53, STIGs, RMF, and the ATO process 
• Track record of building engineering organizations from scratch in high-growth environments: recruiting teams, establishing culture, and delivering platforms that other teams depend on 
• Experience managing teams that operate across classification levels with mixed clearance requirements

Software is the central nervous system for True Anomaly’s engineering and product thesis. The Service Excellence (SE) team owns the tools and infrastructure that help engineers at The Trade Desk understand and operate production systems.
