About This Role

Axsome Therapeutics is seeking a National Business Director (NBD) to be primarily responsible for the supervision and leadership of an industry shaping, uniquely structured salesforce leveraging the use of a highly sophisticated digital infrastructure. The NBD is a second-line leader with direct supervisory responsibility for a team of Regional Business Directors (first line leaders). The NBD is responsible for geography-specific sales performance of SYMBRAVO, an oral acute migraine medication, and exhibit the business knowledge of the local landscape to assess key stakeholders plus future trends within the marketplace. Geographic responsibility currently includes half of the national scope.  

Job Responsibilities and Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Responsible for supervising operations of the assigned geographic area which includes hiring and coaching sales leaders, RBD development, performance management, and HCP engagement 

• Develop and implement strategic plans for the geography including the right balance of live/virtual interactions and the prioritization of efforts by the team 

• Plan, organize and monitor performance to achieve the business potential 

• Ensure timely access for patient through patient services and engaging with Local and Regional payers in partnership with the Market Access team 

• Establish and maintain effective communication among all members of the cross-functional commercial team 

• Maintain required technical expertise in order to respond accurately to all questions regarding products, marketing strategy and messaging, commercial operations tools, policies, and business-related issues from customers and sales team 

• Works in-field or virtually in line with established expectations with all members to coach and counsel on improvement of coaching/selling skills, performance management, product knowledge, and capabilities needed for successful personnel development to ensure proficiency in both live and virtual customer engagements 

• Effectively plan and conduct plan of action and other meetings to ensure strategic alignment and execution 

• Develop and implement business plans, oversees promotional budget in alignment with Regional and National expectations 

• Has complete understanding of all relevant compliance laws, policies, and processes. Ensures actions of self and team are fully compliant.

Requirements / Qualifications

• BA or BS required. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of field leadership experience and/or payer account management
• Demonstrated experience delivering outstanding results and developing others to their potential
• Previous pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical marketing/sales experience preferred with at least three to five years spent in a position with demonstrated leadership across peer and customer groups
• Previous experience in LTC/Hospital/Health System Sales leadership required

Salary & Benefits

The anticipated salary range for this role is $240,000 - $275,000. The salary offer will be based on a variety of factors, including experience, qualifications, internal equity and location. About This Role

Axsome Therapeutics is currently searching for a Regional Business Director (RBD) to lead commercial activities for an assigned geography, establish a team of Account Managers, execute marketing strategies, and ensure a successful launch. The RBD will be primarily responsible for the supervision and leadership of an industry shaping, uniquely structured salesforce leveraging the use of a highly sophisticated digital infrastructure. All sales representatives will be aligned to geographical boundaries.  

The RBD is responsible for sales performance at a Region level and is expected to be a product champion and exhibit the business knowledge of the local landscape to assess key stakeholders plus future trends within the marketplace. This is a cross-functional front-line leader role that will ensure successful promotion of AUVELITY for major depressive disorder in adults and potential future indications. The position is field-based and will require travel as needed to develop internal and external relationships.

• Responsible for supervising operations of the Region which includes: driving results, hiring and coaching, account manager development, performance management, and the assignment of key "priority" accounts within the medical community

Qualifications / Requirements

Salary & Benefits

Job Summary:

The Field Reimbursement Manager is a regionally field based position that provides reimbursement and access support for patients who have been prescribed a rare disease product.  Reporting to the Director, Patient Access Solutions, he/she will work closely with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and ancillary staff, as well as patients and caregivers of patients to prevent and address barriers to patient access and reimbursement. Also, this candidate will align with Kyowa Kirin’s Commercial and Patient Services Team(s), to ensure that the team is collaborating on behalf of patients, their care teams, and other therapy partners to ensure access to uninterrupted therapy and support throughout the patient treatment journey.

Essential Functions:

• Provide coordination of care to patients and their caregivers accessing a rare disease product by working with Healthcare Providers to ensure access
• In person meetings with patients, healthcare providers, and/or other office staff to discuss and educate on product specific coverage and reimbursement, alternative insurance and coverage options, and relevant information to aid in the continued access of a rare disease product.
• Assist with and provide information and education regarding general reimbursement and process related information and assistance to help HCPs obtain reimbursement for their patients
• Ensure that all patients and providers are well educated and informed throughout the treatment journey to ensure and maintain treatment schedule as prescribed by their provider
• Subject matter expert on relevant reimbursement topics related to rare disease therapy
• Billing, reimbursement, and procurement options expert
• Able to provide support to help troubleshoot billing and coverage hurdles with office staff
• Provide ongoing support and input to Kyowa Kirin’s Patient Services, Marketing, Market Access, Sales, Legal/Compliance, and Medical team partners as needed in order to provide on-going support
• Liaison with Kyowa Kirin’s Commercial team’s internal and external stakeholders 
• Attend meetings and represent Kyowa Kirin at industry conferences as needed
• Attendance at company sponsored and external customer meetings when requested
• Expertise in regionally based plan/policy as well as nationally and government funded plans
