We are a small, dedicated team of leadership recruiting experts, based out of London but with a global reach. Monzo continues to grow and we are looking for an Executive Researcher to join the team.

As part of our “People Collective” team, you're charged with finding the most interesting candidates who bring an entrepreneurial spirit, a sense of scrappiness and a diversity of thought to all they do. You're responsible for engaging executive and board candidates to our hiring process and connecting them to the magic of working at Monzo.

You are creative and driven, with an interpersonal savvy that allows you to develop lasting relationships with candidates, recruiters and hiring managers. You're also comfortable with numbers and drawing insights from analytics to make our hiring process smarter and more efficient. From generating pipelines to enriching the search process with market and talent insights, you are confident in a room with senior stakeholders advising on talent and market trends and taking ownership of candidate pipelines. It’s really important that you are adept at keeping an eye on market trends, bringing in-depth credible knowledge and research to every process. Organised and thoughtful in your approach, you will work across multiple collectives and so curiosity and an ability to learn quickly is key. You are data-led, always looking to iterate for process improvement and experienced at designing thorough and creative search strategies. By leveraging your knowledge of our clients' hiring needs and search requirements, you effectively match candidates with the roles in which they will be most successful.

The Executive & Board Recruitment team at Monzo is an exciting and focused group - supporting all hiring at ExCo and Board level, across all parts of the organisation. Our work is focused solely on the most critical leadership roles. You work closely with our Boards, ExCo, and other leaders across every function.

With a strong perspective on the external talent landscape and deep insights into Monzo’s business priorities, you will develop search strategies and lead engagements to position Monzo for success today and well into the future.

As a Senior Executive Researcher on the Executive & Board Recruitment team at Monzo, you will act as a trusted adviser on finding and hiring leadership and board talent who will help build, and deliver our innovative products that make money work for everyone. We are seeking creative, analytical and resourceful individuals with a passion for research and developing relationships, and who have the ability to listen and understand the goals of candidates and our hiring teams. You will play the role of a senior talent scout, tapping into various tools and resources to uncover the best talent in the market and matching them with the roles to which they are best aligned.

• Leading the design of Monzo’s executive sourcing framework — setting standards for research, mapping, and candidate engagement.
• Partnering with Executive Recruiters on live searches, co-owning the sourcing and research strategy, and ensuring smooth collaboration.
• Designing and embedding a framework for recruiter-sourcer partnership (e.g., role kick-offs, milestone check-ins, stakeholder touchpoints, feedback loops).
• Building succession pipelines for C-suite and board roles, prioritising where you spend your time for impact.
• Creating and maintaining in-depth market maps of leadership talent in market, and adjacent industries.
• Acting as a trusted research advisor to recruiters and senior stakeholders, bringing deep market insights and competitive intelligence.
• Championing diversity and inclusion by ensuring all pipelines and market maps reflect Monzo’s values and DE&I goals.
• Building and maintaining long-term relationships with senior leadership talent for both immediate and future opportunities.
• Contributing to projects that establish Monzo as a benchmark for executive and board hiring excellence.
• Innovate to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our systems and processes - not just incremental improvements, but also “moon shots” that fundamentally change how we approach executive search at Monzo.

🤩 We’d love to hear from you if…

• You have significant experience sourcing and researching at the executive or board level, either in-house or in a top-tier executive search firm.
• You’ve led or built sourcing/research frameworks and want to apply that expertise to continue to shape an inhouse function.
• You’ve been involved in succession planning or proactive pipeline building for senior leadership roles.
• You have a track record of partnering effectively with executive recruiters, and ideally have experience shaping recruiter-researcher ways of working. You are a collaborative team player, with a track record of maximizing team as well as individual performance.
• You’re as comfortable designing strategy as you are executing the research behind it. You are highly experienced in creating search strategies, mapping markets, gleaning industry insights and being a champion of process and data quality.
• You bring credibility, discretion, and gravitas when partnering with senior stakeholders, bringing a high level of personal accountability, integrity and authenticity in everything you do. 
• You care deeply about diversity, inclusiveness, and delivering an exceptional candidate experience.
• You’ve worked in-house in a high-growth business and/or have exposure to financial services or technology industries, with ideally a passion for Fintech.
• Learning agility to get up to speed quickly on new markets and to run a thorough, best-in-class search process, including candidate research, outreach, engagement, and evaluation.

⭐ Our Workforce Management (WFM) team

This is an excellent opportunity to step into a key Senior WFM Analyst role on a 9-month fixed-term contract. You'll report to the WFM Service Manager and be instrumental in using data-driven insights to perfectly staff our customer operations and service teams.

You will be crucial in predicting our resource needs, proactively identifying risks, and translating those findings into clear, actionable strategies for our senior leaders. You’ll be a guiding voice for leaders, constantly improving WFM processes, and collaborating closely with Operations, People, Hiring, and L&D to boost efficiency and enhance the customer experience at Monzo.

🔑 You’ll play a key role...

• Preparing clear, concise, and actionable executive-level reports and presentations on WFM performance, trends, and resource requirements for senior leadership.
• Analysing large datasets, identifying patterns and trends, and communicating key insights to stakeholders. You'll use Google Sheets and Looker to create visualisations and reports, with a basic knowledge of BigQuery being a bonus.
• Creating and reviewing shift offerings to support business growth and improve our flexible working employee rating.
• Showing the operational impact of supply and demand for potential changes to shift patterns across all required domains.
• Working closely with the forecasting, People, Operations, and WFM data teams to continuously improve schedule quality, shift offerings, and reduce errors.
• Ensuring holiday utilisation remains within budget and at expected quarterly levels, factoring in seasonality.
• Deep-diving into schedule issues to improve schedules, reduce manual amendments, and increase schedule automation per domain.
• Managing mappings, service goals, and overall Verint backend configuration and setup.
• Collaborating with the People team (for FWRs), Hiring, L&D (for New Hires), Operations (for schedules, skills, and shifts), and Forecasting for schedule accuracy.

🤩 We’d love to hear from you if…

• You have demonstrable experience in workforce management, ideally in a fast-paced, high-growth environment (e.g., technology, customer support, operations).
• You possess expertise in WFM software and tools, with Verint experience preferred.
• You have strong proficiency in Google Sheets (advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis).
• You have experience presenting complex data to executive leadership and influencing decision-making through clear, strategic communication.
• You have excellent analytical skills with the ability to synthesise data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable strategies.
• It's a bonus if you have familiarity with Looker, basic knowledge of BigQuery, or experience with scenario planning, resource modelling, and strategic capacity planning.
• You can work autonomously, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a dynamic environment.
