Monitor infrastructure for vulnerabilities and ensure adherence to fintech regulatory standards.

Implement and maintain access controls, secrets management, and audit logging.

Set up and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability tooling across production and staging environments.

Respond to and lead resolution of infrastructure incidents, conducting post-mortems to prevent recurrence.

Ensure uptime and reliability targets are consistently met.

Champion the ongoing journey toward serverless architectures (AWS Lambda / Azure Functions).

Evaluate and recommend tooling improvements that support Ozow's evolving technical roadmap.

Collaborate with engineering to modernise legacy infrastructure components incrementally.

Maintain up-to-date documentation on infrastructure, pipelines, and runbooks.

Drive adoption of automation and AI-assisted tooling to reduce toil and increase team velocity.

Lead or contribute to the rollout of new systems, platforms, and DevOps tooling changes across the team.

An IT diploma or degree (or equivalent hands-on experience).
-
At least 3 years of relevant work experience in a DevOps, SysOps, or Infrastructure Engineering role.

Solid experience with CI/CD pipelines - specifically TeamCity (Ozow's tool of choice).
-
Strong knowledge of AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and ECS.
-
Hands-on experience with Docker and container orchestration via Kubernetes or ECS.
-
Proficiency in both Linux and Windows server environments.
-
Experience with scripting and automation (Bash, PowerShell, Python, or similar).
-
A strong security mindset with experience implementing DevSecOps practices.
-
Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar).
-
Excellent communication skills - you can translate complex infrastructure concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

Experience in a high-availability, regulated industry (fintech, banking, or similar) is a bonus.

Your role and responsibilities
Software Development Quality & Standards
- Participating in regular code reviews
- Standardisation of technologies, approaches, and architectures across teams
- Active engagement with the development teams on all areas of software development
Agile Collaboration & Team Enablement
- Liaise with agile coaches and product owners in order to resolve team impediments
- Working with agile coaches, technical leads, development managers, and the executive team to drive architectural changes in projects and deliver on initiatives
- Understanding the interdependency of work items and teams
Process Improvement & Operational Efficiency
- Active monitoring of the software development process and continuous improvement thereof
- Work with the various development and technical support teams to resolve any production issues timeously and efficiently, keeping business impact to a minimum
You are an ideal candidate if you have
- At least 7 years of work-related experience as a Software Engineer or Software Developer
- Ideally have an IT Diploma or Degree
- Ability to develop software in .Net 8 C#, Javascript, ReactJs, HTML, CSS and other programming languages (polyglots preferred)
- Excellent knowledge of Postgres, Mssql technologies (EF, NHibernate)
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases such as Redis, Riak, MongoDB, and others.
- Experience developing web applications, with a good understanding of how the web works
- Proven experience in high-scale applications and an understanding of the practices and approaches that are employed in scaling applications beneficial.
- Experience with unit testing, knowledge of applying test-driven development beneficial
- Understanding DevOps principals and how to apply them practically beneficial.
- Experience in cloud services preferred – AWS, Azure.
- Experience with containerisation (Docker, TeamCity, Octopus Deploy, Appveyor) highly beneficial.

As a Software Engineer, you will be someone whose expertise directly translates into developing robust software in the e-commerce domain. You will have the opportunity to implement best practices to improve existing software and participate in the development of new features. While we don't promote after-hours work as part of the regular workday, we run a 24/7 business with the need to keep systems up and running. Software Engineers are expected to provide after-hours support on a rotational basis to resolve critical system issues if needed.

Job summary
As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer, you will work on designing, developing, and maintaining web applications, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and perform well across different environments. You will collaborate closely with product managers and other engineers to create seamless user experiences and ensure the smooth integration of front-end and back-end components.
What you will do

What you will have

The Role
The Infrastructure Engineer’s role is to administer the Online Gaming platforms, ensure optimum performance and availability of such platform, provide third/fourth-level troubleshooting support, and liaise with all applicable service providers and third parties including NOC/1st/2nd line support. Provide technical support to all roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Partake in the design and implementation of new setups
- Assist in process improvement and automation.
- Test and design new systems/services and their suitability for possible use in production environments
- Proactive monitoring and support of the live and staging infrastructure
- Investigate and react to any live or staging issues that might arise
- Prepare and take part in the periodic release of new software
- Act as an escalation point for issues flagged by customer support
- Handle service requests, incidents, problems and change requests, using ITIL best practice.
- Assist in process improvement and automation.
- Assist in intensive investigations into problems that would included detailed log and metrics analysis to provide detailed analysis, resolution and future prevention of such issues
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- All-rounder with proven experience in linux based environments with very good IT knowledge
- Possess excellent communication skills, capable of delivering information to both technical as well as non-technical personnel, the ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
- Detect/analyse alarms to provide fault isolation and remote troubleshooting, being a responsible individual for problems until their complete resolution
- Ability to analyse logs for troubleshooting issues, including malicious activity or cybersecurity threats, code and systems errors and problems
- Understands how to direct, support and guide other team members and knows how to motivate them with great attention to detail and acts as a senior technical resource for outages until restoration.
- Production support or implementation of Kubernetes, preferable in google managed Kubernetes environment (GKE) for at least 24 months
- Virtualisation - OpenStack, VMware, Cloud - Experience with any: Google GKE, Amazon EKS, Azure AKS, OpenShift/OKD

As a Senior Software Engineer, Tech Lead for Data Systems, you will lead a squad of engineers focused on designing, building, and maintaining data systems that are maintainable, reliable, and understandable at scale. You will set technical direction, own squad-level delivery outcomes, and manage the health and growth of your team - all while remaining a strong hands-on engineering contributor.
This role is centered on designing resilient distributed systems, including handling retries, partial failures, backpressure, and consistency tradeoffs. This is a software engineering leadership role, not a data analysis/statistical role or an ETL/SQL-focused role.
Essential Responsibilities
- Own squad-level delivery, technical direction, and outcomes (quality, stability, deadlines) across multiple workstreams
- Provide direct people management: coaching, performance feedback, career development, delegation, hiring input, and team health
- Set and align technical approach for the squad; make or drive key decisions, resolve cross-engineer disagreements, and ensure designs fit architecture and guidelines

The Media Systems Engineer works within the 2U Learning division as the resident expert in media post-production workflows and best practices. They will serve as the system administrator for the post-production environment including 2U’s enterprise media asset management system, media storage solution, and all ancillary post-production related equipment and peripherals that enable workflows including ingest, transcoding, video editing, motion graphics, audio mixing, color correction, video quality assurance, and final delivery. This pivotal role will be a key liaison between 2U post production teams across product lines including Graduate and Undergraduate Degrees, Executive Education, and edX.
This role will collaborate with internal 2U departments including Engineering, Production Innovation, Learning Technology, and IT, as well as external post production vendors, our systems integration partner, and product suppliers to ensure continued proper protocols as they relate to security, ongoing maintenance, updates, and enhancements to post production systems. This person will also work with the Media Systems Specialist to provide guidance and delegate day to day responsibilities. This person is a passionate media and tech enthusiast, constantly monitoring and absorbing media production and ed-tech industry norms, as well as the latest technical solutions including hardware, equipment and post-production related software. The person in this role will aid in determining 2U’s media and video technological vision, implementing media technology strategies, and ensuring that the technological resources are aligned with the company's business needs.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
1. Serve as global Administrator and in-house SME for media/video post-production systems including media asset management solution, AWS storage infrastructure in partnership with 2U IT/Engineering, and all media-related equipment and peripherals
- Monitor performance and maintain post-production systems according to established requirements.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors who are users within 2U’s MAM environment.
- Main liaison between 2U, post-production vendors, systems integration partner, and product suppliers for ongoing required support and troubleshooting of system anomalies.
- Provide technical expertise for all post-production editorial and technical staff including editors and motions graphics designers, video post-production management staff, and production staff for day-to-day video engineering needs encompassing all related disciplines such as operational system support monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Ensure security of the media post production environment leveraging deployed tools through access controls, backups, and firewalls.
- Establish and manage all user permissions and track licensing and usage.
- Troubleshoot access issues and outages among end users.

- Help evaluate and troubleshoot technical quality control issues related to media, including both raw and final assets, and work with stakeholders executing media acquisition on resolving these issues.
- Make recommendations and implement upgrades to media post-production systems and software with new models and releases in order to support increasing scale, complexity requirements, and future functionality enhancements.
- Provide insight on required technical specifications for production including field and studio acquisition.
2. Develop, introduce, monitor, and improve workflows and automation in partnership with various stakeholders including internal and external post production teams.
- Develop efficient workflows based on best practices essential to a media post production operation.
- Develop and update technical documentation, policies, and SOPs for media and editorial workflows.
- Collaborate with 2U’s systems integration partner, product vendors, and internal 2U stakeholders to develop and test API integrations.
- Participate and advise on best practices for Adobe Creative Suite project and sequence organizational structures, MAM metadata architecture, and taxonomy standards.
- Identify new areas for a more streamlined approach to relevant production and post-production work including automation considerations.
- Support vendor and partner inquiries regarding external media production best practices and technical deliverable requirements.
- Participate in discussions and/or review of updates or modifications to overall operational workflows and SOPs, as appropriate.
- Maintain and update technical quality control specifications.
3. Training/Coaching.
- Responsible for training Media Systems Specialist and internal 2U staff and external vendors on related 2U systems who participate in production and post production processes including advising on technical specifications for filming/recording, editing, graphics, audio, and video quality control and assurance.
- Develop expertise on all aspects of 2U’s post-production environment including deployed MAM software and AWS storage.
- Develop and maintain training materials including user-guides, documentation, screen share recordings, etc. for user groups.
- Communicate rollouts of new video post production tools and resources to user groups.
- Training and facilitating internal 2U and external vendor training for any user groups leveraging MAM.
- Provide orientation to external/freelance technical and editorial staff (e.g. video editors) to post-production operational systems.
4. Take on additional duties and responsibilities as required.
Things That Should Be In Your Background:
- Bachelor’s Degree is required.
- 7+ years of professional video/media production/post production, engineering and operations experience.
- Experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role in support of a complex media post production operation.
- Experience with various operating systems and platforms.
- Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN), and cloud-based media storage. AWS/S3 and tiered cloud storage experience is a plus.
- Experience with media processing systems and workflows at various stages of the media supply chain (workflow engines, ingest, transcode, metadata, editing, delivery).
- Comprehensive knowledge of file-based and proxy workflows, formats, frame rates, aspect ratios, codecs and file types required for a high-volume media post production environment.
- Expertise in media post-production software and editing techniques on non-linear editing platforms including the full Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience with enterprise media asset management software. IPV Curator experience is a plus.
- Full knowledge of encode hardware and transcode software applications. Root 6 workflow engine experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of system security and data backup/recovery.
- Experience with LTO Archive software and hardware.
- Experience with product/project management software, Atlassian Jira is a plus.
- Expertise leveraging various technology and software solutions including Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Slack and overall web-savviness.
- Knowledge of technical aspects of video production, including best practices for filming, lighting and audio engineering techniques.
- Familiarity with video closed captioning and transcription workflows.

What We’re Looking For:
As the Senior Manager of Cybersecurity Operations, you will lead and mature 2U’s global cyber defense and security operations capabilities. This role is accountable for the effective execution of threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and operational security monitoring across a global enterprise.
You will manage and develop a team of security engineers responsible for day-to-day security operations, while also acting as the operational bridge between cybersecurity engineering, infrastructure, SRE, IT, and external partners (including managed or embedded resources). While remaining technically credible, your primary focus will be on operational excellence, incident readiness, process maturity, and ensuring consistent, high-quality execution of security operations at scale.
This role requires strong leadership, sound judgment under pressure, and the ability to translate technical security events into clear risk-based communication for senior stakeholders. You will own operational outcomes, ensure alignment to industry frameworks, and continuously improve tools, processes, and team capability to reduce risk across 2U’s most critical systems.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
Cybersecurity Operations & Execution
- Own and oversee day-to-day cybersecurity operations, ensuring effective threat detection, investigation, response, and remediation across cloud, application, and infrastructure environments.
- Ensure security monitoring, alerting, and response processes are consistently executed, well-documented, and aligned to defined SLAs and severity models.
- Provide operational oversight of security tooling (e.g., SIEM, EDR, SOAR), ensuring tools are properly configured, maintained, and delivering actionable outcomes.
- Drive continuous improvement of operational runbooks, response workflows, and automation to reduce manual effort and improve response quality.
Cybersecurity Incident Management & Operational Readiness
- Own the cybersecurity incident management program, ensuring incidents are triaged, escalated, coordinated, and resolved effectively.
- Ensure clear roles, escalation paths, and communications are in place for security incidents, including coordination with SRE, Engineering, Infrastructure, IT, Legal, Privacy, and Communications teams.
- Lead post-incident reviews for security incidents, driving root cause analysis, remediation tracking, and systemic improvements.
- Ensure incident response practices align with industry standards and internal risk management expectations.
Engineering, Cloud & Application Security Alignment
- Partner with Cloud Security, Application Security, and Engineering teams to ensure security controls, detections, and response requirements are operationalised within cybersecurity operations.
- Ensure outputs from Cloud Security and Application Security initiatives (e.g., controls, detections, alerts, runbooks) are effectively integrated into security monitoring, incident response, and operational workflows.
- Act as the primary intake point for security-relevant operational signals from engineering and platform teams, ensuring they are triaged, prioritised, and actioned appropriately by cybersecurity operations.
- Collaborate with partner teams to identify gaps in detection, response coverage, and operational readiness, and drive improvements to expand and mature cybersecurity operations coverage.
- Serve as an escalation and advisory point for security-related operational issues, ensuring coordination with the appropriate domain owners (Cloud, Application, Infrastructure, SRE) while maintaining clear accountability.
Security Operations Coverage & Readiness
- Ensure cybersecurity operations maintain effective visibility and response capability across cloud, infrastructure, and application environments, aligned to defined risk and threat models.
- Oversee the integration of logging, telemetry, alerts, and response playbooks into operational tooling (e.g., SIEM, SOAR, EDR), without assuming ownership of underlying platform or application architectures.
- Partner with domain security teams to validate that new systems, services, and changes are adequately covered by operational security monitoring and incident response processes.
- Continuously assess and improve operational coverage to ensure cybersecurity operations can detect, respond to, and support incidents across the evolving technical environment.
Proactive Risk & Vulnerability Management
- Own the operational vulnerability management lifecycle, ensuring vulnerabilities are identified, prioritized, remediated, and tracked to closure.
- Use risk-based prioritization to balance remediation effort with business impact and operational realities.
- Ensure security findings and risk trends are translated into clear, actionable insights for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Team Leadership & Partner Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop cybersecurity operations engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Provide direction and oversight to embedded or partner resources (e.g., Sonata), ensuring clear expectations, quality delivery, and alignment to 2U standards.
- Contribute to workforce planning, skills development, and operational maturity of the cybersecurity operations function.
Things That Should Be In Your Background:
- 5+ years experience in cybersecurity or security operations, with progression into technical leadership or people management.
- Experience leading or supporting security operations, incident response, or threat management in complex environments.
- Working knowledge of AWS; exposure to GCP or Azure is a plus.
- Comfortable with scripting/automation (e.g., Python, Bash) to guide and review operational improvements.
- Experience partnering on CI/CD and DevSecOps initiatives to ensure security signals feed into detection and response.
- Familiarity with cloud-native and containerised environments and their operational security risks.
- Required: Hands-on experience with SIEM and EDR platforms supporting security monitoring, investigation, and incident response.

Leadership & hands-on Development:
- Lead a team of Salesforce engineers in the design, development, and maintenance of 2U’s core Business Systems and CRM infrastructure.
- Perform hands-on development and prototyping new innovative capabilities

Collaboration & Governance:

- Oversee the design and building of transactional systems that process our university and learning management system data.
- Direct the design and building of systems that efficiently move data from various source systems such as Snowflake, Java based apps, and other clouds (AWS).
Things That Should Be In Your Background:
- 8+ years of progressive Software Development experience, with at least 2+ years in a technical leadership or lead role.
- Experience working with Service, Sales and Data Cloud having implemented Agentforce use cases with Call Center/IVR integrations with Salesforce.
- Expertise in Apex and Visualforce programming experience, and a strong focus on Salesforce Flow (Screen, Record-Triggered, and Auto launched Flows) for declarative automation.
- Proven experience developing modern user interfaces using Lightning Web Components (LWC) and/or Aura Components.
- Familiarity with Salesforce DX (SFDX) for source-driven development and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) DevSecOps tools such as Gearset or Copado.
- A propensity for building tools that automate and make processes reliable and scalable.
- Proven ability to establish and enforce technical best practices, perform rigorous code reviews, and mentor junior team members.
- Exceptional ability to communicate technical concepts to both engineering and non-technical business stakeholders.
- Background coding in a structured environment with Agile methodologies.

As a Staff SRE at Luno, you are providing technical expertise and oversight for reliability and scalability across our cloud estate. impact.com's Analytics Data Platform processes terabyte-scale data for one of the world's leading partnership SaaS platforms, covering the full lifecycle from ingestion to governed access.
We're looking for a technical people leader to own and grow the Data Platform Engineering team, while driving the architecture, reliability, and evolution of impact.com's Analytics Data Platform. This is a senior player-coach role: you'll combine hands-on technical leadership with direct people management, building a high-performing team, owning delivery, and shaping platform strategy. Expect to spend roughly 40% hands-on and 60% on leadership, people, and delivery, shifting as the team matures. You'll be accountable for both the team's output and its people, ensuring engineers are supported, challenged, and growing.
As Team Lead for Data Platform Engineering, you'll work across the full data ecosystem (ingestion, processing, storage, orchestration, access, and governance) using technologies like Scala, Python, Google Cloud Dataproc, BigQuery, and Airflow. You'll shape the operating model for the team, establish engineering standards, and drive platform strategy. This role is levelled at Senior/Staff Engineer on the engineering management track and reports to the Director of Advanced Analytics. The position is based in Cape Town, hybrid, with one day per week in office.
Data Platform Engineering is one of four sub-teams within the Data Analytics Group (DAG). DPE owns ingestion, infrastructure, orchestration, and platform services. Analytics Engineering owns the dbt transformation layer and semantic layer. Data Analytics owns reporting and insights. Data Product Management owns product roadmaps and governance processes. You'll partner closely with all three, but won't own dbt models, reporting, or product prioritisation directly.
Our ideal candidate combines distributed systems expertise with proven people leadership. Someone who can make architecture decisions, run a team, and translate platform trade-offs into business language. This role is for someone who wants to build both a platform and a team, not just maintain what exists.
What you'll inherit:
The platform has strong foundations: Scala/Spark pipelines processing TB-scale data, 37+ Fivetran connectors, Airflow on Astronomer for orchestration, a mature dbt-based transformation layer, and BigQuery as the core analytical warehouse. Databricks is part of the current stack but is being transitioned off in favour of Dataproc and BigQuery-native patterns. What's greenfield: governance frameworks, data contracts, SLOs/SLAs, observability, cost management, and data quality monitoring. You'll build the team that delivers on these opportunities.
What you'll do:
- Build and run a team of data platform engineers: set direction, remove blockers, give honest feedback, and make sure people are growing in their careers.
- Create an environment where engineers do their best work: high trust, high standards, low friction.
- Turn platform strategy into a delivery plan the team can actually execute: sequence the work, balance new builds against keeping the lights on, and make the trade-offs visible.
- Own capacity and priorities across the team. Keep cross-team dependencies from becoming bottlenecks.
- Lead platform architecture decisions, design reviews, and cross-org technical coordination, defining and promoting architectural patterns, standards, and guidelines.
- Design and implement scalable pipelines using Scala, Python, and distributed frameworks (Spark on Dataproc) processing TB-scale data. Lead the migration off Databricks onto Dataproc and BigQuery-native patterns.
- Establish platform reliability practices: define SLOs/SLAs, build incident management and response processes, and drive systemic improvements across pipeline and infrastructure operations.
- Design and maintain core platform services (Dataproc clusters, BigQuery datasets, Cloud Storage) and optimise platform performance and cost at scale.
- Build and operationalise data governance, security, and compliance capabilities, including data contracts, access controls, and audit logging. Many of these practices are greenfield; you will be building them from scratch.
- Define and evolve team rituals, operating cadences, and engineering standards: code review norms, documentation practices, on-call fairness, and knowledge sharing.
- Represent the team to senior leadership and act as the single point of accountability for the team's commitments to cross-functional partners (analytics engineering, data analytics, product, finance).
- Own data source integrations and data quality across the platform, including third-party connectors (e.g. Fivetran), custom Scala/Spark ingestion pipelines, dbt orchestration via Airflow and Astronomer Cosmos, and quality monitoring and remediation practices.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in data platform engineering, data engineering, or distributed systems, including 2+ years leading engineering teams
- Strong programming skills in Scala and Python, including functional Scala patterns (cats-effect / Typelevel ecosystem), testing, code review, and production-grade engineering practices
- Deep hands-on experience with distributed computing frameworks: Apache Spark (Dataproc) and large-scale data processing. Databricks experience is useful for leading the migration off it
- Expert-level knowledge of cloud-native data platforms and services. Our stack runs on Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Dataproc, Cloud Storage), but equivalent depth on AWS or Azure is equally valued
- Advanced SQL skills including complex query optimisation, partitioning strategies, and performance tuning
- Experience building and scaling engineering teams, not just managing established ones: hiring, running interview loops, onboarding, and growing engineers from junior to senior
- Experience leading cross-team architecture initiatives and establishing platform-wide standards
- Experience with orchestration tools (Airflow, Astronomer, and Astronomer Cosmos for dbt orchestration) and CI/CD pipeline design
- Familiarity with legacy CI/CD tooling (e.g. Jenkins), particularly in the context of pipeline migration and modernisation
- Strong understanding of data governance, security best practices, and compliance requirements
- Experience with infrastructure as code and automated deployment practices
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical trade-offs for non-technical stakeholders and represent the team to senior leadership
- Strong people management skills: coaching, mentorship, performance management, and career development
- Experience with monitoring, alerting, observability, and on-call operations for production data systems
Nice to Have:
- Experience in the digital marketing technology or partnership/affiliate industry

The Role
The Senior Software Engineer plays a critical role in designing, developing, and delivering high-quality software solutions that align with LiveScore Group's strategic goals. Key Responsibilities

This position reports to the Software Engineering Manager (Logistics).
We are an energetic team that is fully responsible for all the systems required to support the Takealot Group's delivery network as well as the unique challenges that come with logistics and scale. We have adopted a microservices architecture to both isolate our logic and to enable scale. We follow the event-driven architecture as well as utilize a graph database to model our delivery network. We are currently working through unique problems in the logistics space and are actively researching the usage of the actor model design pattern and graph traversal optimization.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it:
- Developing and optimizing systems to manage both parcel and food delivery throughout South Africa
- Working with business to improve processes to allow for more efficient deliveries
- Researching and defining solutions within the logistic domain
- Working predominantly on open source platforms

We are looking for a Senior Node.js Engineer who doesn't just write code but actually enjoys the craft of programming. We need a proactive problem-solver - someone who treats failing code as a captivating puzzle to be solved and fixed before it impacts the user experience.
