ABOUT THE JOB

As an Automation QA professional, you will be involved throughout the development lifecycle of the development team with responsibility in the quality assurance of software development and deployment with emphasis on the development and implementation of test automation. You will be working closely with developers as they develop code to ensure requirements are being met and to the correct quality, and you will conduct automated (and manual tests where necessary) to ensure the software created is fit for purpose.

During testing, you will be thinking “outside of the box” to understand the various scenarios and configurations that customers use to ensure customer quality is maintained and through doing so drive regression testing across the products. You will be responsible for defining and driving innovative automated testing strategies and toolsets into our overall development processes that support and enhance the current Quality Assurance processes.

QA AUTOMATION ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work as part of cross-functional, passionate agile project teams to ensure quality is driven into the heart of the development process from requirements definition through to delivery
• Designing, developing and supporting frameworks for our test infrastructure and providing automation expertise to our development teams
• Engaging with key stakeholders, both internal and external, providing expertise to functional project teams.
• Contributing toward predictable delivery of quality releases
• Research, recommend and implement tools as needed with the goal of increasing automation
• Proactively bringing issues and problems to the attention of the team, generating, proposing, and implementing innovative solutions to solve them
• Be meticulous about documentation and maintaining a robust log of all test cases and test result
• Ensure that all tests are executed and give regular feedback to the team lead on the status of quality
• Use appropriate measures and KPIs to validate and report on software quality
• Work closely with the software engineering team, Product Management and Technical Operations as well as business users and Senior Management, as required
• Be a creative thinker who can quickly identify and test for functional ‘edge cases’ outside of expected functionality workflow

QA AUTOMATION ENGINEER REQUIREMENTS

• At least 3 years of experience in the field of software quality assurance.
• Experience with Playwright
• Good written and communication English (minimum B1)
• Strong analytical thinking
• Good knowledge of different types of testing, including integration testing and performance testing.
• Good knowledge of Postman, JMeter or other testing tools
• Good knowledge of test management tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar tools
• Good knowledge of SQL databases and queries
• Good knowledge of automated testing tools and frameworks (Playwright/Selenium/Cypress/Appium etc.)
• Basic knowledge of 1 programming language (Java/C#/TypeScript etc)
• Basic knowledge of Git versioning control systems
• Basic knowledge of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.

Employees may be required to participate in an on-call rotation, ensuring availability outside regular working hours to respond to urgent issues as needed as per the On call policy.

Who you are:

• 3+ years of QA experience (manual or automation). 
• Experience in iGaming (Sportsbook).
• Strong knowledge of testing methodologies and bug tracking tools. 
• Experience with exploratory, E2E, and cross-unit testing. 
• Familiarity with web and mobile applications (Backend & Frontend). 
• Excellent attention to detail, punctuality, and organizational skills. 
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. 
• Can do approach is a must
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
• Knowledge of test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress) – a plus but not a must.

You will: 

• Design and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for both UI and Backend components.
• Perform UI testing (functional, regression, smoke, exploratory) across web and mobile platforms.
• Conduct Backend testing, including API validation, microservices testing, workflow verification, and data integrity checks.
• Lead exploratory testing sessions using structured techniques to uncover edge cases and high-risk defects.
• Review user stories and acceptance criteria to ensure clarity, completeness, and testability before development begins.
• Apply risk-based testing to prioritise not only critical functionality but also high-risk edge cases, complex integrations, and areas with a higher likelihood or impact of failure.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to identify requirement gaps early and improve overall product quality.
• Identify, document, and track defects with clear, reproducible steps and ensure timely resolution.
• Participate actively in test planning, estimation, and test coverage discussions to ensure strong release quality.
• Maintain clear documentation of test progress, results, and coverage metrics.
• Own quality for specific product areas, contributing to release readiness and go/no-go recommendations.
• Help enhance QA processes and contribute to increasing automated test coverage across UI and Backend.
• Stay current with QA tools, trends, and industry best practices.

You have:

• 4+ years of experience in QA, with hands-on UI and Backend manual testing.
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, test planning, test strategy, and test coverage principles.
• Proven ability to write high-quality test plans, test cases, and exploratory test charters.
• Expertise in functional, regression, smoke, negative, and exploratory testing across UI and backend systems.
• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman.
• Ability to perform basic SQL queries or data validation for backend testing.
• Skilled in analysing requirements, identifying ambiguities, and ensuring testability.
• Familiarity with Jira or similar test/defect management tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
• Ability to mentor junior QA team members and contribute to QA best practices.
• Foundational understanding of automated testing concepts and interest in supporting automation initiatives.

• ISTQB or equivalent certification.
