We’re looking for a Backend Engineer to help bring large-scale GenAI systems to production. You Will:

• Design, build, and scale backend systems that power enterprise GenAI products, focusing on reliability, performance, and deployment across both Scale’s and customers’ infrastructure.
• Develop core services and APIs that integrate AI models and enterprise data sources securely and efficiently, enabling production-scale AI adoption.
• Architect scalable distributed systems for data processing, inference, and orchestration of large-scale GenAI workloads.
• Optimize backend performance for latency, throughput, and cost—ensuring AI applications can operate at enterprise scale across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
• Manage and evolve cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP), driving automation, observability, and security for large-scale AI deployments.
• Collaborate with ML and product teams to bring cutting-edge GenAI models into production through efficient APIs, model serving systems, and evaluation frameworks.
• Continuously improve reliability and scalability, applying strong engineering practices to make AI systems robust, maintainable, and enterprise-ready.

Ideally, You Have:

• 4+ years of experience developing large-scale backend or infrastructure systems, with a strong emphasis on distributed services, reliability, and scalability.
• Proficiency in Python or TypeScript, with experience designing high-performance APIs and backend architectures using frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, Express, or NestJS.
• Deep familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS and Azure preferred), including container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker) and Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform.
• Experience managing data systems such as relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, etc.) and building pipelines for data-intensive applications.
• Hands-on experience with GenAI applications, model integration, or AI agent systems—understanding how to deploy, evaluate, and scale AI workloads in production.
• Strong understanding of observability, CI/CD, and security best practices for running services in enterprise or multi-tenant environments.
• Ability to balance rapid iteration with production-grade quality, shipping reliable backend systems in fast-paced environments.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to manage new implementations or enhancements of our quickly growing portfolio of customers. They will lead the implementation of custom systems and applications aligned to business requirements and will be responsible for implementing the design and ensuring successful deployment of integrations through the entire project lifecycle. 

CMT is looking for a collaborative, customer-committed, and creative Senior Software Engineer, Customer Solutions who wants to join us in making roads safer by making drivers better! 

Responsibilities: 

• Serve as a tkey technical contributor for our customers in designing, developing, validating, maintaining, releasing, and operating CMT backend customer solutions and integrations, with the ultimate goal being to help the top insurance companies in the world in growing their business and in implementing CMT’s telematics solutions. 
• Work with Sales, Engineers, and Solution Architects to understand business requirements and effectively size Sprints with active participation in scrum team planning and technical meetings
• Conduct due diligence remotely and on-site with clients and partners in concert with Platform Engineering team members to define customer integration requirements and design 
• Ensure that the implementation of integration designs are secure, performant, scalable, fault tolerant, and testable 
• Participate in architecture/implementation proposal reviews 
• Support and continuously improve release and deployment pipeline 
• Partake in an on-call rotation alongside the engineers who build our production backends
• Be able to operate in a highly regulated environment 
• Complete any additional tasks as they arise 

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience and/or certification in a related field 
• 4+ years of relevant experience 
• Good coding skills in at least one programming language, and a desire to pick up more. We work primarily in Python, with smatterings of shell scripts, Jenkinsfile and JSON configurations.
• Proven ability to quickly learn new technologies and understand complex systems (APIs, databases, SDK's, etc.) 
• Ability to identify and clearly communicate pragmatic solutions to complex integration problems
• Deep understanding of AWS services and DevOps principles

Nice to Haves: 

• Master's degree preferred 
• Experience using EC2, SQS, Lambda, Dynamo, RDS (PostgreS), S3, Kinesis, ECS, and IAM
• Experience with Docker, NGINX, PostgreSQL, Consul and/or Cassandra 
• Experience with large scale production systems and technologies, for example load balancing, monitoring, distributed systems, and/or configuration management

Base Salary Range

• The gross base yearly salary range for this position is: 18,306,300 to 22,882,900 HUF. This range is specifically for Budapest, Hungary.
