Job Summary
We are seeking a Secrets Engineer to lead the development, deployment, and ownership of a secure, scalable secrets-management platform for the entire organization. You will build a new enterprise-grade HashiCorp Vault or OpenBao environment from scratch. It must be highly available, resilient, and suited for long-term use.
This is a strategic role: you will deliver and operate the central platform. You will also collaborate with engineering, security, and operations teams that manage localized or ad-hoc secrets systems. A key part of your mission is to unify and standardize these methods across Graphcore, ensuring consistent guidelines, smooth migration, and organization-wide support.

Responsibilities and Duties
Platform Ownership & Implementation
- Build, deploy, and operate an organization-wide HashiCorp Vault or OpenBao platform from scratch, ensuring high availability, scalability, and strong security posture.
- Define architecture for clustering, storage backends, auto-unseal, disaster recovery, and performance replication.
- Develop migration strategies and reference frameworks that allow other teams to move from their current secrets tools to the central platform.
- Standardization & Governance
- Collaborate with groups from engineering, security, and operations to merge various secrets stores into one unified system.
- Develop organizational standards, policies, access models, and workflows to ensure consistent, secure usage of the platform.
- Advocate for guidelines in secret lifecycle management, authentication methods, and identity federation.
Integrations, Enablement, and Developer Experience
- Build tooling, automation, onboarding guides, and libraries to help teams adopt Vault/OpenBao easily and accurately.
- Integrate Vault/OpenBao with CI/CD systems, cloud platforms, and internal services.
- Deliver workshops, training, and direct technical support to accelerate adoption.
Research & Advanced Security Capabilities
- Evaluate approaches for secure password storage for individual users—either within Vault/OpenBao or by assessing alternatives such as BitLocker or other credential-management systems.
- Conduct an initial study on the feasibility of implementing SPIFFE/SPIRE for workload identity, attestation, and zero-trust authentication, outlining future pathways and recommendations.
Collaboration & Cross-Team Work
- Partner with HPC, Networking, Storage, Security, and Cloud Engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of secrets workflows into broader infrastructure systems.
- Find opportunities to improve security posture and operational efficiency through automation and standardized secrets management.
Candidate Profile
Essential:
- 4+ years in DevOps, SRE, security engineering, or platform engineering roles.
- Direct experience deploying and operating HashiCorp Vault, OpenBao, or a similar enterprise secrets-management system.
- Strong understanding of authentication backends (OIDC, LDAP, cloud IAM), secret engines, PKI, encryption, and token/credential lifecycle.
- Solid Linux administration and shell scripting experience.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform preferred) and CI/CD automation.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple engineering and security fields.
Desirable:
- Experience crafting HA/DR architectures for Vault/OpenBao.
- Experience connecting Vault with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of SPIFFE/SPIRE, workload identity, or zero-trust architectures.
- Understanding of modern security tooling, certificate management, or identity platforms.
- Python programming experience for automation and tooling.

- Logging and solving support requests face-to-face and via the ticketing system.
- Managing and supporting Linux-based systems, providing Layer 1 & 2 support.
- Security patching, including risk assessment for Linux environments.
- Collaborating with engineering teams to manage hybrid cloud and on-prem servers.
- Maintaining Infrastructure-as-Code specifications to deploy and automate changes.
- Handling key infrastructure services such as DNS, DHCP, VPN, and LDAP.
- Maintaining and supporting the virtualisation platform.
- Detailing solutions and maintaining a clear, up-to-date internal knowledge base.
Essential:
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong understanding of troubleshooting principles and methodical problem-solving.
- Over 5 years of experience in System Administration concentrating on delivering essential infrastructure services and automation.
- Strong Linux administration skills in Debian & RedHat derivatives on bare metal and virtual machines.
- Good networking skills such as VLANs, VPNs, Wi-Fi, routing, and subnetting.
- Hands-on experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Experience in handling Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform, Puppet, Ansible, or equivalent tools.
- Managing Virtualisation Platforms like VMware ESXi/vSphere and KVM/libvirtd.
Desirable
- Experience with identifying network/storage/CPU/RAM bottlenecks across complex workloads.
- Familiarity with various monitoring solutions and stacks (e.g., Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana Mimir, Open Telemetry).
- Experience handling web servers, load balancers, and reverse proxies (e.g., ha-proxy, nginx).
- Proficiency with containerisation frameworks and orchestration (e.g., Docker, containerd, Kubernetes).
- Python programming skills, with the ability to write code to interact with APIs, process data, and build small applications.

The Team

Our responsibilities include managing the CI platform and services, build engineering, component integration, and packaging and release systems. We operate in squads, fostering a culture of service ownership and empowerment for our engineers. We focus on long-term engineering solutions and strive to eliminate toil wherever possible.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Develop, own, and maintain tools and services to support AI research and engineering teams
- Deploy and maintain services with Kubernetes and Docker
- Manage our Cloud Infrastructure using tools such as Terraform
Candidate Profile
Essential:
- Knowledge of Python
- Familiarity with cloud services (e.g. AWS)
- Experience managing or developing in Linux environments
- Understanding of CI/CD principles
- Experience using Kubernetes (k8s)
- Experience of one of the following:
- maintaining machine learning applications.

These include in-house AI systems alongside off-the-shelf high-performance servers, switches and storage solutions. This is a hand-on technical role requiring a solid background in the use of cloud infrastructure, deployment using Infrastructure-as-Code, observability, high-performance networking and storage systems. You may have been working in an IT organisation, a datacentre, a cloud provider or as a developer of orchestration or cloud services.
The Software Platform team at Graphcore
We build Graphcore products into large-scale AI solutions for our customers and the Cloud Platform Team is responsible for providing such systems to both internal users via private clouds and customers via our own public clouds. Often the internal systems will be using and developing pre-release hardware and software, so it’s vital you are comfortable with unproven components.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Develop and operate Kubernetes-managed end-user services on our private clouds and support internal users in their use. You will turn end-user and product requirements into deployed services.
- Work with our Datacentre Operations Engineers to maintain and operate the fleet of AI systems at peak performance in our private clouds.
- Configure and test new Graphcore AI hardware and systems using Continuous Deployment and Infrastructure-as-code in internal and external datacentres.
Skills and Experience (all required)
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant subject.
- Experience with managing production Kubernetes clusters and workloads with a continuous delivery tool such as ArgoCD.
- Solid software engineering or IT experience with a proven track record of delivering technical output as an individual contributor.
- Experience working in an AGILE and SCRUM framework, including understanding of priorities, risks, issues, impacts and constraints.
- Strong proven Linux scripting ability (bash, python, awk, sed).
- Strong proven Linux system administration (Ubuntu, RHEL and variants).
- Experience with a version control system (preferably Git) and using it to manage system configuration or automation.
- Experience with Continuous Integration or testing pipelines using GitLab, GitHub or similar.
- A solid hands-on understanding of the technologies underpinning cloud services (APIs, virtualisation of CPUs, IO, systems), virtual networks, block storage, resource management and monitoring.
- Experience with IAC automation tools (Terraform/OpenTofu, Ansible, Packer).
- Good communication and presentation skills, and experience dealing with end-users of IT services.
- An ability to work independently on critical infrastructure with minimal oversight, and with a focus on end-user availability.
Desirable but not required:
- Experience with Openstack cloud platforms.
- Experience with solutions for monitoring and observability. e.g. Grafana, Prometheus, OpenSearch/ElasticSearch, Loki.

- Work with external vendors of off-the-shelf switches, servers and storage solutions to integrate 3rd party products into our Cloud Reference Design, with a focus on network performance, automation and resilience.
Skills and Experience (all required)
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant subject.
- Significant hands-on experience with 1 or more vendor’s high-end (100Gb/s+) ethernet switch solutions.
- Experience managing on-premises or private-cloud environments.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Develop, own, and maintain tools and services to support the software build and release process
- Deploy and maintain services with Kubernetes and Docker
- Manage our Cloud Infrastructure using tools such as Terraform
- Support the technical development of junior and graduate engineer
- Embody a strong engineering discipline for high reliability and minimal toil
Candidate Profile
Essential:
- Knowledge of Python/Go/C++ (or similar language)
- Experience deploying services in the cloud (AWS preferred)
- Deep understanding of Linux environments
- Native user of CI/CD for production deployments
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g. Terraform/OpenTofu)

We are seeking a Storage Engineer to be responsible for the architecture, performance, and management of the storage solutions that power our demanding EDA and HPC workloads. You will be the expert on all things storage, from high-performance parallel file systems to object storage and backup/recovery and corporate storage solutions. Responsibilities and Duties
- Manage and maintain on-premises storage platforms, including Linux-based NFS systems (e.g., ZFS) and enterprise storage arrays such as NetApp or Pure for both Corporate and Engineering workloads.
- Manage backup and recovery systems (e.g., Rubrik, Cohesity), ensuring reliable data protection, retention, and tested restore processes.
- Deploy and optimise scale-out or high-performance storage technologies such as Ceph, Lustre, GPFS, or WEKA to support EDA and HPC workloads.
- Automate storage configuration, provisioning, and operational workflows.
- Experience of managing storage in cloud environments such as AWS for engineering or backup purposes
- Capacity planning, performance tuning, monitoring, incident response, and ongoing lifecycle management of storage services.
- Work with vendors on hardware evaluation, procurement, updates, and support cases.
Candidate Profile
Essential:
- 5+ years of experience in storage administration or engineering, with at least 3 years focused on cloud storage solutions in AWS
- Hands on experience with enterprise storage platforms: NetApp ONTAP, Pure, DDN, Dell/EMC, etc.
- Deep expertise in storage services, particularly NFS, CIFS, S3, and EBS
- Hands-on experience with parallel or scale out file systems (Ceph, Lustre, WEKA, GPFS, etc.) in an HPC or high-throughput environment
- Proven experience with backup, recovery, and DR strategies in a large-scale environment
- Proficiency with using automation to deliver consistent storage configuration and deployment (Ansible, Terraform, Python, or similar)
- Deep knowledge of providing storage to Virtualisation infrastructure
- Good troubleshooting skills across storage, network, and compute boundaries.
Desirable:
- Experience in the semiconductor industry and familiarity with the storage demands of EDA workloads
- Understanding of high-speed networking relevant to storage (10/25/40/100GbE, NFSv4.1, RDMA).
- Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk.
- Experience of working with source control management tools such as Git.

Overview
We're looking to hire for our Data side of our AI team at Speechify. This role is responsible for all aspects of data collection to support our model training operations. We are able to build high-quality datasets at petabyte-scale and low cost through a tight integration of infrastructure, engineering, and research work. We are looking for a skilled Software Engineer to join us.
What You’ll Do
- Be scrappy to find new sources of audio data and bring it into our ingestion pipeline
- Operate and extend the cloud infrastructure for our ingestion pipeline, currently running on GCP and managed with Terraform.
- Collaborate closely with our Scientists to shift the cost/throughput/quality frontier, delivering richer data at bigger scale and lower cost to power our next-generation models.
- Collaborate with others on the AI Team and Speechify Leadership to craft the AI Team’s dataset roadmap to power Speechify’s next-generation consumer and enterprise products.
An Ideal Candidate Should Have
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
- 5+ years of industry experience in software development.
- Proficiency with bash/Python scripting in Linux environments
- Proficiency in Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts and professional experience with at least one major Cloud Provider (we use GCP)
- Experience with web crawlers, large-scale data processing workflows is a plus
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
