The ideal candidate will have a strong background handling litigation matters and understand any applicable underlying regulations. Key Responsibilities:

• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other legal documents
• Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments and offices, contributing to a cohesive and supportive team environment.
• Independently manage a litigation caseload, working cases from beginning to end.
• Communicate with clients and provide status reports.

Qualifications

• JD from an ABA accredited law school
• Admitted to practice in the state of Alabama
• 2+ years of defense litigation experience
• Experience with litigation involving general liability, premises, transportation, or insurance preferred.
• Experience drafting discovery and pretrial motions a must.
• Superior analytical skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Sophisticated technical skills necessary
• Experience handling court appearances, depositions, and trial experience a plus

Wilson Elser’s Birmingham office is currently seeking a Senior General Liability Attorney with experience in general liability, personal injury, transportation, and/or catastrophic injury. This is an excellent opportunity for attorneys with 8+ years of litigation experience, to grow in their careers with exposure to a wide variety of prominent national clients and by taking on substantial litigation responsibilities. • 8+ years of defense litigation
• Experience with defending Personal Injury, General Liability, Catastrophic Injury, Transportation, and other civil litigation matters preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Client-facing experience preferred
• Ability to integrate into a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Legal project management experience is helpful
• First chair trial experience a plus
