Tu Perfil:

• Experiencia en laboratorio de electromecánica trabajando con sistemas electromecánicos complejos o experiencia equivalente

• Ciclo formativo en electromecánica, electrónica o formación técnica similar

• Español fluido

• Persona proactiva y resolutiva

• Conocimientos básicos de electrónica, uso avanzado de material de laboratorio (soldar, creación de cables, pistola de calor, soldadura con pasta de

  soldadura, etc)

• Conocimiento básico de componentes mecánicos y su montaje (rodamientos, motores...)

• Nociones básicas de ordenador, Excel, etc. y de herramienta de gestión de stock (ERP)

You will be part of a team pushing the boundaries of autonomous robotics through reinforcement learning. Your work will focus on designing, training and deploying RL-based controllers for robots operating in complex, unstructured, and dynamic real-world environments — where classical control approaches fall short. This includes enabling robots to perceive and understand their surroundings by fusing rich sensory inputs, including vision, to inform robust and adaptive control. You will own the full pipeline from simulation to deployment, ensuring that learned policies are robust, efficient, and ready for real-world operation under tight hardware constraints.

You should apply if you

• Hold an MSc or PhD in Robotics, Machine Learning, Control Engineering, or a closely related field, with a strong focus on reinforcement learning and robot control.

• Have hands-on experience training and deploying RL-based controllers on real robotic hardware, not just in simulation — you have seen your policies fall, iterate, and ultimately succeed on a physical system.

• Are deeply familiar with modern RL techniques for continuous control, including but not limited to: model-free methods (PPO, SAC, TD3), model-based RL, hierarchical RL, sim-to-real transfer strategies, domain randomisation, and curriculum learning.

• Have a solid understanding of robot dynamics, kinematics, and classical control theory (e.g. PID, model predictive control, trajectory optimisation), and know when and how to combine them with learned approaches.

• Are proficient in building and working with physics-based simulators (e.g. MuJoCo, Isaac Gym/Isaac Lab, PyBullet, Gazebo) for training and validating RL policies.

• Possess solid software engineering skills, writing clean and well-structured code in Python and/or languages like Rust or modern C++, and have experience deploying AI software to production including testing, QA, and monitoring.

• Have excellent communication skills and the ability to report and present research findings clearly and efficiently, both internally and externally.

• Are passionate about keeping up to date with current research and enjoy re-implementing and extending state-of-the-art papers.

Technical Program Manager & Engineering Operations (Aerospace / Robotics)

At Near Space Labs we design, build and operate a fleet of stratospheric robots to image the Earth. We launch our proprietary, balloon-based imaging robots to heights between 40,000 and 60,000 feet. From this vantage point, we capture petabytes of imagery for a variety of use cases. 

We are seeking a Technical Program Manager to coordinate the lifecycle of new features and upgrades across R&D, Manufacturing, and Fleet Management. Reporting directly to the CTO, you will be responsible for aligning cross-functional requirements, managing critical-path schedules, and ensuring that our technical standards are met from prototype to deployment. We are looking for a systems-thinker who can manage the complexity of deploying new hardware to real-life applications, while fostering a culture of disciplined execution.

Your responsibilities will be

• Create and co-own the project plans and schedule for new features, from inception to deployment in the field.
• Coordinate and trade-off the inputs and needs of the different departments involved in a feature release.
• Coordinate project gates such as acceptance reviews and others.
• Communicate with Flight Operations on the status of feature requests and releases.
• Evolve or streamline the existing processes for hardware development and manufacturing in an aerospace environment, with the ideal balance of agility and rigour.
• Enhance the tooling that supports development processes, configuration management and traceability if needed.
• Lead cross-functional projects with other teams like data engineering, flight operations and product.

Your Skills & Background 

• Experience in project management in engineering environments with real-life tradeoffs.
• 10+ years of experience, of which 2+ in a similar role.
• Hands-on experience with design, manufacturing or test processes in Robotics, Aeronautics, Drones, Auto, IoT, or a similar field containing hardware and embedded software.
• Degree in engineering; aerospace, industrial, mechanical, production, electronics or similar.
• Mission-oriented and focused on accomplishing goals autonomously.
