About the Job

Robotics Engineers contribute to delivery of vehicle perception and planning capability integrated in to our products. This includes systems analysis, sensor selection and integration, perception architecture and implementation, motion planning, health management, behaviour analysis, simulation and test infrastructure, and interfaces with lower- and higher-level systems. About the Role

As a Program Chief Engineer you will be responsible for defining and driving the system's architecture, technical roadmap, and overall engineering excellence. • 5+ years of demonstrated experience as a Chief Engineer, Technical Director, Lead Architect, Engineering Fellow, or equivalent senior technical leadership role on a major hardware/software program.
• Proficiency in systems engineering principles, including requirements management, interface control, verification, and validation.

Anduril’s Maritime Division has assembled a diverse team of experts in software, robotics, artificial intelligence, sensor fusion, and data analysis to create software and hardware solutions that radically evolve the capabilities of our customers. We are fielding the next generation of autonomous systems to tackle the extremely challenging industry demands of maritime operations. About the Job

Software Engineering Managers independently lead teams to deliver a variety of software integrated in to our products. This includes autonomy, simulation, data processing, payload integration, and off-board command and control or decision support. We expect Software Engineering Managers to demonstrate end-to-end outcome ownership of a major system within an integrated product, and the team responsible for building and maintaining it. Software Engineering Managers contribute as a team lead to the rapid architecting, design, delivery, support, and evolution of next generation autonomous platforms through their entire product life-cycle.

What You’ll Do

• Empathize with end-users and drive solutions that balance their needs with external constraints, restrictions and requirements in a multi-stakeholder environment
• Be accountable for software enabled solutions that are deployed to customers, optimizing for the delivery of value to the end-user
• Collaborate with your Technical Lead to architect scalable software that rapidly delivers capability beyond the scope of current platforms, with a clear path for both architecture and capability evolution over time
• Co-ordinate your teams roadmap and execution with other teams across Anduril, with the aim of developing components that are re-usable across multiple Anduril product lines
• Contribute to the design, implementation and execution of development processes for the initial delivery and subsequent iteration of vehicle and mission software, including full lifecycle testing, monitoring and operation
• Manage a 6 - 18 month roadmap for your team, nested within broader organisational roadmap
• Manage an allocated budget for your team
• Manage programatic risk for your team, and collaborate with your Technical Lead to manage technical risk, including sound and timely decision making
• Lead by example as a technically competent, trustworthy, and accountable team lead

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering, a relevant field, or equivalent experience
• Experience in a management position within a high performing technology organization
• Extensive professional experience working as a Software Engineer with one or more domains and/or technologies of expertise
• Capacity to lead a team that works holistically on software enabled capabilities up and down the software stack and through lifecycle through design, implementation, operation and sustainment
• Capacity to act as the owner for a software system, including stakeholder engagement, requirements definition, roadmap management, team co-ordination, design, implementation management, sustainment and evolution
• Capacity learn and grow individually, while mentoring team members effectively, building team cohesion and capacity
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a senior role for the delivery of a military mission system and/or autonomous vehicle

As a Field Operations Engineer you will stand up, execute, and continuously improve Extra Large Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (XLAUV) field operations. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, operations, and customer mission success - owning outcomes in the field and feeding insights back into product development.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Execute AUV Field Operations - Operate and monitor AUVs in real-time, co-ordinate launch and recovery evolutions, and execution of day-to-day operational activities.
• Support Mission Planning & Deployment Execution – Support deployment planning end-to-end, including mission route optimisation, operational risk considerations, and equipment readiness. Identify, source, and kit required XLAUV support equipment to enable effective operations.
• Provide Technical Support – Deliver forward technical support across software and hardware systems, leading field maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and upgrades.
• Drive Continuous Improvement – Develop and refine SOPs, provide structured customer feedback into engineering, and contribute to the evolution of the XLAUV capability.
• Partner with the Customer - Support customer deployments, providing outstanding operating support and on the job training for customer users.

• Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time for field deployments, work irregular hours when required, and operate in maritime environments.

At Anduril Australia we are developing un-crewed maritime and air domain systems that leverage unsupervised autonomy for the delivery of long endurance, multi-mission capability to our customers. These projects, including but not limited to the Extra Large Autonomous Undersea Vehicle (XL-AUV) Program, require a Senior Machine Learning Engineer with deep experience developing, testing, validating and deploying machine-learning based sensor processing and the technical toolchains they rely on. The Senior Machine Learning Engineer strives to leverage their experience to rapidly architect, design, deliver, support, and evolve next generation autonomous vehicles through the entire product life-cycle.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Lead the design, development, integration and support of machine learning models for perception and data pipelines for a variety of autonomous systems across multiple sensor modalities
• Develop software to manage and automate the machine learning lifecycle, including data management, pipelining, labeling and training
• Manage model selection, training, validation, evaluation, deployment and regression testing
• Manage training data sourcing and integration, and quality
• Develop tools and processes for machine learning in a classified environment
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, mechanical engineers, and systems engineers, to ensure effective system integration and testing

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering, a relevant field, or equivalent experience
• Experience in a senior role with the delivery of a production grade software system with a mature machine learning component
• Experience with the design, implementation and maintenance of ML Operations, including data acquisition, labeling, data curation, pipeline management, continuous integration, model versioning, and monitoring
• Ability to collaborate with data scientists and stakeholders to define and implement robust validation and verification strategies
• Experience with the delivery of computer vision capabilities, from the data side as well as the model side
• Capacity to work holistically on machine learning enabled capabilities up and down the software stack and through lifecycle through design, implementation, operation and sustainment
• Capacity to learn and grow individually, while mentoring junior team members effectively, building team cohesion and capacity
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Negative Vetting 2 security clearance (NV2)
