About The Team
Roku’s Aarhus office is focused on acoustics, audio processing and cloud technologies, centered around a purpose-built operating system for streaming TV.
About The Role
We are looking for students interested in starting a full-time internship from Summer 2026. This role is for a 20-week internship, based out of our Aarhus, Denmark office.
The team is located both in Aarhus DK, the UK and the US. Please submit your CV in English.
What You'll Be Doing
- Assist in development of RokuOS audio subsystem features and tools
- Assist in development of automated tests, testcases and Jenkins environment
- Collaborate in a globally distributed software and test team
We’re excited if you have
- Good programming skills in C++ language
- Good programming skills in Python language
- Experience in use of AI for software development
- Strong capability for troubleshooting
- Understanding of the interaction between software and hardware
- Experience with GIT and Jenkins is desired
- Enrolled in a relevant engineering education at the time of application
- A self-starter attitude and willingness to learn
- Good English skills, both oral and written

As a software engineer with a backend focus, you will work with your team to build infrastructure for the Databricks platform at scale.
The impact you'll have:
Our backend teams cover a diverse range of domains, from core compute fabric resource management to service platforms and machine learning infrastructure. For example, you might work on challenges such as:
- Supporting Databricks' growth by building foundational infrastructure platforms that enable seamless operation across numerous geographic regions and cloud providers.
- Implementing cloud-agnostic infrastructure abstractions to help Databricks engineers more efficiently manage and operate their services.
- Develop tools and processes that drive engineering efficiency at Databricks. We enhance the developer experience for Databricks engineers across various areas, including programming languages, linters, static analysis, IDEs, remote development environments, automated release pipelines, and test automation frameworks. Our current focus is on optimizing the Rust development experience across the organization.
What we look for:
- 2+ years of professional software development experience, or alternatively a PhD degree.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in one or more backend languages such as Java, Scala, or Go.
- Hands-on experience in developing and operating backend systems.
- Ability to contribute effectively throughout all project phases, from initial design and development to implementation and ongoing operations, with guidance from senior team members.
- Self-driven and passionate with a strong focus on delivering impact through team collaboration.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to produce clear technical documentation that drives alignment and decision-making.
