The Role

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Student (Finance or Business) to support Valutico across our finance function. This is a flexible 10-hour-per-week role designed to give you hands-on exposure to the full breadth of finance operations at a fast-growing SaaS scaleup in the fintech space, while giving our finance team reliable support on high priority tasks. You will work directly with our finance team and experienced colleagues across the business and see how finance works in an internationally operating company with entities in Austria, the UK, the US, and Singapore. You can make this role a lot by shaping it yourself; some of the topics where we would like your support:

• Bookkeeping Support: Assist with day-to-day bookkeeping and invoicing in Xero across our group entities, you will receive full onboarding and training, working closely with our Senior Accountant
• Collections and Billing: Review and support our collections process, monitor outstanding invoices, and help ensure timely and accurate customer billing
• Financial Analysis and Business Planning: Support the preparation of financial analyses, internal reporting, and our business plan with clear, decision-ready inputs
• Finance Tech Stack: Work with modern, cloud-based finance tools such as Xero (Accounting), Chargebee (Subscription Management/Invoicing), Stripe (Payments), and Joiin (Group Consolidation), and help optimise how data flows between them
• Cross-Functional Support: Take on ad-hoc tasks across the finance function and adjacent areas as they arise, giving you broad exposure to how a SaaS business is run end to end

Requirements

Must-Haves:

• You are currently enrolled in a Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related degree program (Bachelor or Masters) at a University in Vienna 
• You are physically located in Austria (not currently on exchange outside of Austria)
• You have strong analytical skills and a structured, detail-oriented way of working – accuracy matters to you, especially when working with numbers
• You are fluent in English (written and spoken)
• You have an ownership mindset – reliability, initiative, and the ability to manage tasks independently with limited supervision are not new to you
• You are comfortable to work in a fast-paced, digital-first environment and are proficient in using AI tools in all your work
• You have an interest in accounting, financial operations, and the broader Corporate Finance space and are eager to learn more about it
• You can commit to work in this role at least 4 months, ideally 6-12 months
  
  

Nice-to-Have:

• Foundational understanding of accounting and financial statements (e.g., balance sheets, P&L, cash flow statements, basics of bookkeeping)
• Fluency or professional proficiency in German (helpful for our Austrian entity) or another language beyond English
• Prior internship or working-student experience in accounting, finance, controlling, auditing, or a Software/SaaS environment
• First exposure to cloud-based finance tools (e.g., Xero, Chargebee, Stripe) or strong Excel/spreadsheet skills
