Delaware Nation Industries is seeking a Windows System Administrator – Senior to provide advanced systems administration and operations support for the Air Force Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System/Joint Interoperability Test and Services mission. This position will maintain secure, reliable, and highly available Windows infrastructure across classified and unclassified environments supporting mission-critical operations.

The Senior Windows System Administrator will serve as a technical authority for Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, enterprise software, virtualization, patching, configuration management, and system security. The position requires independent judgment, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to coordinate technical solutions across Windows, Linux, cybersecurity, network, storage, application, and Government teams.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, configure, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows servers, workstations, applications, and related computing environments.
  • Perform Windows Server lifecycle administration, including system builds, provisioning, upgrades, patching, software deployment, configuration, backup, restoration, and decommissioning.
  • Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, user accounts, permissions, groups, certificates, and other core enterprise services.
  • Support systems operating across classified and unclassified networks, including compartmented, segmented, and mission-essential environments.
  • Administer and troubleshoot VMware or comparable virtualized infrastructure, including virtual machines, templates, virtual networking, and storage dependencies.
  • Monitor system health, availability, capacity, performance, and security posture; analyze trends and recommend improvements.
  • Analyze complex hardware, software, operating system, application, virtualization, storage, and network issues; conduct root-cause analysis and implement durable solutions.
  • Apply DISA STIGs, IAVAs, security baselines, patch requirements, and other applicable DoD cybersecurity controls.
  • Support vulnerability scanning, remediation, compliance validation, and reporting using tools such as ACAS/Nessus, HBSS, and related security platforms.
  • Support Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager/SCCM or comparable configuration-management and software-deployment capabilities.
  • Maintain system backups, recovery procedures, configuration records, inventories, standard operating procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Support enterprise software, web services, identity services, storage, networking, cloud, containerized, and remote-access environments as assigned.
  • Coordinate with cybersecurity, Linux, network, storage, application, service desk, vendor, and Government personnel to resolve incidents and maintain continuity of operations.
  • Document incidents, changes, troubleshooting actions, and resolutions in the designated IT service-management or configuration-management system.
  • Participate in system integration, testing, exercises, planned maintenance, technical interchange meetings, and after-hours or on-call support as required.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, cross-training, and knowledge transfer to other system administrators.

 

Requirements

  • Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance.
  • At least five (5) years of professional systems administration experience, including senior-level Windows administration in an enterprise, DoD, or classified environment.
  • DoD Cyber Workforce Framework and DoD 8140-compliant certification appropriate to the position; candidates must be able to satisfy JWAC certification and privileged-user requirements before receiving administrative rights.
  • Detailed knowledge of Windows Server administration, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, account deployment, backup, and restoration.
  • Experience with Windows system security, hardening, vulnerability remediation, STIGs, IAVAs, and security compliance documentation.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies, preferably VMware vSphere and related management components.
  • Ability to diagnose complex technical problems, perform root-cause analysis, and communicate solutions clearly to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently and lead technical efforts across a small, multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience supporting Air Force, JWAC, JITS, JCCE, SIPR, NIPR, JWICS, intelligence, or other DoD mission environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager/MECM or SCCM, HBSS, ACAS/Nessus, Jira, Cherwell, ServiceNow, or comparable ITSM tools.
  • Experience with VMware vSphere, vRealize, CloudBolt, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure, AWS, or other cloud and container technologies.
  • Experience with PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Git, or other automation and DevSecOps technologies.
  • Experience with enterprise storage, NAS/SAN, NFS, iSCSI, Exchange, IIS, database integration, load balancing, or remote-access services.
  • Familiarity with RMF, Authority to Operate packages, security control assessments, STIG Viewer, and DoD cybersecurity policy.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, cybersecurity, engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Microsoft, VMware, Security+, or other relevant industry or DoD-aligned certification.
