Job Summary:

The successful incumbent will work on the business side of Trading Department, supporting and delivering various HKEX initiatives in the Hong Kong securities / Stock Connect / derivatives market, particularly in microstructure development and relevant projects.

Job Duties:

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Development: Lead and oversee HKEX’s strategic initiatives including Hong Kong securities / derivatives market structure and Stock Connect related projects to bolster liquidity and uphold market integrity in alignment with strategic goals of the company and regulatory mandates.
  • Market Analysis: Assess the evolving global market landscape, anticipate regulatory shifts, and craft strategies to meet the dynamic needs of market participants.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate and nurture relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including IT teams, Exchange Participants, regulators, mainland counterparts, and industry bodies, ensuring seamless communication, feedback, and collaboration.
  • Project Management: Drive project planning, budgeting, and execution, ensuring adherence to timelines, established processes, and accountability across divisions.
  • People Leadership: Build, coach, and develop a high-performing team. Foster a culture of ownership and continuous learning.

Requirements:

  • Strong presentation and lobbying skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and influence stakeholders effectively.
  • Proactive, meticulous, and adept at building effective relationships across various stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Social Science, Journalism or related fields.
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience with a focus on capital markets. Candidates with a background in finance, sales and trading, research, journalism with understanding of Stock Connect are highly desirable.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and logical thinking skills. Candidates with managerial experience are highly desirable.
  • Solid knowledge of HK securities / Stock Connect / derivatives market, including  market structure, market dynamics, and recent market development themes (e.g., policy changes, trading model enhancements, financial market innovations).
  • Proficiency in written and spoken Chinese (Mandarin) and English is essential.
